Ruben Amorim | United meet Sporting release clause

Was just going to post this. Shaw wont be fit of course and we'll need to sign a specialist left wing back pronto. And a deep lying playmarker instead of Mainoo.

How about trying Antony at left wing-back? Not as a permanent solution, but it could be worth exploring.

For the midfield, I think a pivot of Ugarte and Mainoo could work well. Another option could be dropping Bruno deeper alongside Ugarte, allowing for a more dynamic ball-carrier in the wide forward role—similar to how Amorim uses Trincao. In fact, I could see Amad thriving in that kind of setup.

How is the pressing off the ball in his system? High press or more balanced? Do his teams set out high? The sweeper CB is interesting, it makes me wonder if he plays a lower than normal block as a result.

Sounds pretty good for us then

Hojlund
Mount - Bruno
Shaw - Casemiro - Ugarte - Mazroui
Martinez - Yoro - De Ligt
Onana
Almost as if we've been recruiting players with him in mind
That is how i see it too. Probably Mainoo instead one of dmcs.

You think Zirkzee has technique ? He looks like a dog chasing a frisbee out there. Surely there are better strikers who actually score goals available.

Unfair on doggies, they generally catch the Frisbee

Hope we finally get over the back the manager no matter what nonsense. If we get him and he doesn't turn around the style by the end of this season, he should go in the summer. No more of this he didn't have his any transfer window, no preseason or any other bullshit we seem to come up with.

I don't expect us to win titles or finish top 4, just the style of football has to change.
Good style, prosess, progress and we go

I do. :)
Probably only one as i can see by the comments.

If we’re playing this speculated 3-4-3 under him then some of our summer transfers make more sense and that maybe he was our front runner all along. Two additional CBs in Yoro and De Ligt with Maguire and Lindelof both being retained for that 3 at the back combination. Mazraoui can function in that midfield four as a creative wide man and of course the big one in Ugarte who played under him at Sporting.
And looking for Eze and Davies next summer. His style of left back and a proper dribbler at no 10.

If we get Amorim will Sporting go in for ETH to replace him or will they perhaps go for Cristiano Ronaldo as player manager

Think he'll eventually line up like this

Onana

Yoro
De Ligt ------------------- Martinez

Mainoo ------- Ugarte
Dalot ------------------------------------------------------- Shaw

Bruno -------------- Garnacho

Højlund
That set up will concede shed loads, and not score many either......Basically what we already have ...

He does have good technique. He lacks intensity for this league. Which if he can improve upon, he'll be fine.

Short 6 month loan for Ronaldo in January? I'm joking
That won't happen for various reasons and I know you're joking but he actually was against Ronaldo coming to Sporting if you believe the multiple rumors in Portugal. We couldn't afford him anyway

Very, very interesting choice.

As well as he himself, the new management will have a lot to prove in terms of creating a solid structure around him.

Will also be a big test of how well planned their transfers in the summer was.

Oh thank feck they've moved fast on this at least, I had visions of this taking months.

I'm not sure about that. He looks like bambi on ice out there most of the time, except with two bowling balls for feet. That's on top of being very lethargic in his gameplay.

Will he survive Rashford and Bruno? Or will he too bite the dust? On a serious note, not gonna wax lyrical until I witness any considerable on-field improvement.

LWB - bring back Alvaro?

Maybe that’s why we’re linked with him the last few weeks,

Would be happy with this signing. A up and coming manager who wants to prove himself, young, fresh and exciting. Winning sporting's first league title in 16 years is no mean feat.

Ruben & Ruud in the dugout is severe man crush territory, if only Robin Van Persie fancied rejoining as a coach at the same time I think I'd be in trouble.
