Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

I am sure they understand but can they execute? Do we have 3 fit CBs? Who will play wing back? Do we have 2 CMs who can run and press?
The point is 'you are a footballer, if you can play you can get it, go make us proud'

It's not that complicated and I believe in him and this squad.

LFG!

Maybe. Personally I think Martínez is better suited. Better long passer (for me) and doesn’t switch off like Shaw occasionally does.
I can actually see Harry doing well in a back 3, but it would be between him & Delight, so the latter it is. Yoro, Delight & Martinez.

I reckon we'll go for an athletic and injury-free defender in the summer. Evans & Lindelof (finally) will be leaving, so we'll have 4 pure CBs at the club for 3 positions, and 1 of those 4 (Martinez) is injury prone. Likewise Shaw, if you want to include him as a CB. Harry will also only have 1 year left,

Fit Shaw at CB is also a formidable player. Maybe he will be less injury prone if played on left side of three man defense.

The squad is ill-suited to his needs and it will be a tough slog at first, some fans need to accept that. I don't expect to see anything transformative until the squad is overhauled.

Back 3 is perfectly suited in fairness.

Plenty of options in midfield including one of his former players.

The problem lies in the forwards and what he can get out of them, not in a full squad overhaul.

considering where we are in the table I would have requested our players not to go on international duty
Don’t think we or any other club has the power to do that for these Nations League matches as they are classed by FIFA as “competitive fixtures”. If they were international friendlies then we can pull them out.

I remember hearing Evra's interview with Rio and he was saying how if modern players had to deal with Fergie, he would end up in jail . He also mentioned that's one of the main reasons mourinho's style of management doesn't work in the modern game with how players are these days.

I agree, to an extent. It's not just the tactics and approach to football that have changed to be successful. It's also the style of management.

Weird one. Fergie has always pointed out that he’s had to gradually adapt to different mindsets and also treating players differently because not all of them will respond to the same things. Not to mention a large increase in wages and wealth which would see young players potentially being financially secured at an early stage. One of his greatest strengths was being able to connect with different players. You’ll have quotes from players back to the early days under Cantona highlighting how players were treated differently, how some would have an easier time escaping punishment, to how he adjusted himself to more modern situations like giving Ronaldo extra time off

Do you think Amorim will implement his 343 from day one, or will it be more gradual?
I know you asked someone’s opinion but I think the answer of this question is clear that he will at least play 3 at the back of 343 or 352 or 3421 because in Amorim’s interview Ruben Amorim when asked if he's gonna play with back three at Man United, he said ‘’I have to start from something I know very well and then develop that with the players’’. That means he will implement the 343 system from the start because it’s something he knows very well and develop it gradually with the players.

Can't lie this is the first post Fergie United manager bar LVG I've been worried about in terms of making you a force in the league again.

The clip for anyone interested:

Mourinho was a top coach till a decade or so back. Reality is, his brand of football and inflexibility in style made him a dinosaur of the modern game. What he did in Porto, Chelsea and Inter were kind of revolutionary at that time, but come Madrid, it became kind of predictable and others over took him. He had a run of 12 years as a top manager and that's it.

He talked about his "identity" several times in the interview, as opposed to tactics/formation/pressing etc. Maybe it has been discussed here already but does anybody know what identity can we expect in Amorim's squad? If I think about some of our past managers, SAF was aggression, LVG was possession, Mourinho was counterattack(?) and ETH was fast transitions.

If we wait for a squad overhaul it will be another 3 years.
It’ll need to be a mix. Signings will clearly be needed but I’m expecting him to at least mould some of these players into what he needs (ala Victor Moses to wing-back). We have a lot of good, fast technical players who should really be able to play in multiple systems if taught correctly.

Please allow Pogba to train with the club. If he proves he still has the ability let him support Mainoo as CM.

Ugarte Mainoo
Casemiro Pogba

Ill suited? why?

Onana, Yoro, Maguire, De Light, Licha, Shaw, Maz, Dalot, Ugarte, Mainoo, Bruno, Mount, Rashford, Garnacho, Amad, Hojlund have a place in his system. Maybe some positions have more options while the other need better options. But still... he can work with it. He isnt exactly Van Gaal inheriting players after David Moyes.

You're not serious surely?
I want Pogba, he's the most technically gifted CM I've seen. He'd now have a good squad and top manager to work with in a 343.

If he physically is there, he could be Eriksen with legs.

Doesn’t matter how good he is. He comes with an horrible attitude. No thanks. We got rid of the likes of him and Lingard for a reason. We’re changing the culture.

I think Amorim is a bit of everything. He likes his attackers to attack quickly. He likes pressing high up and he definitely loves possession football.

Definitely not.

Ruben(along with the new team above him)needs a fresh start and a clean break from the past.

Pogba was generally crap last time he was here and Ruben does not need that clown or the circus that comes with him anywhere near the club.

United match going fans don't deserve Pogba, let them keep signing Bruno's name as he spams nearly half of his passes into row z. The fact Pogba never had his own song is all you need to know about the environment he got here.

I hope he finds a club that appreciates him and he can get back to his best, which is absolute genius.

Christ we have some gluttons for punishment masquerading as fans of this club.

Pogba hasn't put an injury free, consistent season together for 5 years and it's still everyone else's fault but his apparently.

Is this the new WUM? Pogba stank up the club, he is one of the worst players I have ever seen at Utd in terms of attitude and effort, he had moments of brilliance interspersing long periods of either dawdling about sulking or holding on to the ball trying to dribble past 6 players then losing it, before pitching a tantrum.

I have rarely been so glad to see the back of a player, I do not care if he is free to sign and offered to play just for the love of the game I would never want to see him in a Utd shirt ever again, he would be the nail in the coffin of Amorim's tenure before it even begins.

I doubt you’ll get an answer. That poster is perennially miserable and negative.

Peak Pogba was the best midfielder in the league hands down.

Peak Pogba unfortunately happened like three times a season. And that's before accounting for injuries, his last very long one and the doping ban. Total non starter to even think about

 shameless

I recommend listening to Sergio Krithinas speaking to Duncan Castles about Ruben Amorim here:

He goes into greater detail and the picture he paints is pretty spectacular.

Good look with that.

Saudi is the only place I can think of.
