Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

At least?

I don't understand English.

Assume it means 'worst case' given it's translated from Portuguese?

Yeah, the term 'at least' before a range doesn't make sense tbh. So it could also be longer than 48 hours?

Maybe @Fanta Stick can tell us, seeing as he's the grammar expert around here.

Max 48 hours is how i understand it

Yeah, so someone got the text from the news article and translated it with google (probably) and pasted it verbatim.
The text in Portuguese is this:
"De qualquer forma, Rúben ainda está à espera da licença de trabalho da federação, o que só deve acontecer dentro de 24 ou 48 horas, no mínimo, o que não lhe permitiria dar os treinos."

If you run that you'll see that it translates "no mínimo" as "at least", which is wrong in this context. A more correct translation would be:

In any case, Ruben is still waiting for the FA's work permit, which will take at least 24/48 hours, and thus will prevent him from running the training sessions until then.

The sentence structure in Portuguese isn't the best, and that's what messed up the translation algorithm.

As a wing back I hope? You can’t complain about his work rate. He does work hard to be fair just lacks end product half the time.
Yup, with the other side having a winger to balanced out a bit especially against solid teams.

Hojlund/Rashford
Bruno/Mount--Amad/Garnacho

Is how I see it shaking out.

What worries me is when down the line when he move on to a new manager, will we again be going back to a back 4? Needing to do a squad overhaul?

Well hopefully the 3-4-3 is successful which means we won’t need a new manager and if by any chance Amorim doesn’t work out but we’ve signed players suited for that system then we just move on to a manager that plays 3 at the back. 3 at the back systems can be successful if coached right. I know a lot of people don’t like the formation.

personally love the 3241/3421 formation for what it allows you to do with the ball in terms of getting players into the attack and dominating possession...

with that said....the most difficult thing Ruben is going to experience is who to play in those wing back roles because if they don't have the work rate and the ability

i think the person who is going to have the most difficult time in this system is Rashford

he doesn't have the work rate to play that wing back role and i don't think he is technically good enough to play the inside forward/att mid position. He may have to play up top and utilized more like Ruben does with Gyorkeres for his pace to stretch the field in behind

The Antony we saw at Ajax would be a decent figure at the AMCR - although I would prefer Amad there.

He will definitily start with the 3-4-3. As I said the players charecteristics will chage the Team dynamics.

He will start to define the defensive process very well as he's done in Sporting. The first league title was really built and supported by the defensive quality from the team.

As he knows that he can not play as a small team, he will need quick CB's, that's essential for his ideas. Wingers that can take care of the whole flanks, CM that can busy a lot of the field with and without ball.

But like I said, the formation it's just a base a start. If he puts Maz or Diallo as RW, he will expect different things from different players in the same position.

Really excited to see hoe will he deal with the level and pressure from Premier League and how he will get with the press.

I just wanted also to say that the way he did things with Ruud, is exactly the way he works. He has his own ideas and he will die with them.

He knows that Ruud is a MUFC legend and if he would have stayed it would put his (Rubens) leadership in question. He's the boss and he decides who gets access to his locker room!
He doesn't care if the fans are not happy with the decision, because he thinks it is the best for the Club and the Team!

I'm expecting something like this.

Onana

Yoro / Dalot De Ligt /Evans Lisandro / Shaw

Maz / Diallo / Antony Mainoo / Cas Ugarte / Eriksen Maz / Malacia / Garnacho

Diallo / Antony Bruno / Rashford / Garnacho

Hojlund / Zirkzee

This looks like a scene from a hypothetical Inbetweeners 3 movie set 20 years in the future where they've all actually grown up... Will's lost his hair, Neil has grown a beard and lives in Ibiza, Simon is still trying to impress Carly and thinks a turtle neck will help him accomplish that & Jay has become a slimeball salesman.

Ye I agree with most of that but I actually think Rashford will be a lot better playing inside rather than out wide. If he’s inside and close to the ST then it allows him to link up and be closer to goal which could help his assists and goals.

Amad as been our best player in the last couple of games. He definitely deserves a shot in that position. His creativity and goal threat will be useful and I think Amorim will like him.

Can we stop spreading this BS rhetoric that for some mystical reason Manchester United players aren't able to play this and that.. The manager comes with his known game plan and chooses the players to play it and that's what they must adapt.
Yes some of the comments on here I find weird. Most of these guys have played 3-5-2/3-4-3 at international level. Even Southgate played a back 3 occasionally in big games.. Most South American players or players from the continent Like Bruno, Dalot etc will have played in these formations.

it would be silly to have a system thats worked for you and then not believe in your system so you change it, a bit like what Eth did and failed miserably !!

I get the feeling that we'll see the youngsters used more from here on in

There will be some older noses put out of joint

So be it

Good. Young hungry players is what we need. Amorim is lucky that most of our injured players are coming back.

Antony will probably suit this 3-5-2 formation that Amorini wants to implement. Of all the wingers we have he is probably the best defensively and is very hard working. Granted he might struggle attacking wise but this formation suits him best

He is a very mediocre player at best, irrespective of the system

He was very decent at Ajax even if he's been a huge disappointment with us.
I hope Amorim can make him look like a footballer again, even if only it might help us sell him.
