2-0 down and still playing five defenders.
Based on the eye test and results, he is comfortably the worst manager we've ever had.
How did they finish 7 places above them last season then?Loving how anyone believe these players are better than Everton’s players![]()
My bad mate, I've quoted the wrong post. What are you talking about here
It's the same with every manager for this fanbase. They quickly develop a cult-like devotion and reverence for them as it makes them feel as though Fergie is still here.I've came to the conclusion after reading similar multiple times over the years that some people not ony seem to think a manager does very little to affect results but also that the manager can do no wrong and the players are always to blame in every scenario when shit hits the fan.
CorrectNot getting rid of Ten Hag directly after last season set us back years
No manager is doing anything with this squad. Naive to the extreme to expect that.
Anyone (Amorim included) trying to downplay the importance of a formation is talking out of their hole.
This isn’t just about playing principles, 343 means we have to start 3 crap centre backs at the expense of a player in midfield, it means we have to play 2 holding DMs even though we barely have one. It means we’re either playing fullbacks who can’t attack out wide or wingers who can’t defend.
It means we have players out of position all over the park, it means promising players like Mainoo and Garnacho are suddenly looking like spare parts and were reliant on dogshite like Casemiro and Zirkzee.
The players get blamed for absolutely everything (anything to excuse Ruben) but I honestly feel sorry for them having to figure out how to make this nonsense work for a totally inflexible manager who is hanging them out to dry.
I absolutely maintain any decent manager should be able to flex their set-up and get the best out of what’s available to them, and it’s absurd that so many of our own fans let alone Ruben are happy to see us slide towards the relegation spots just so we can play one specific formation.
It’d be different if there was any hint whatsoever of things starting to click but it’s totally absent, we look dreadful and are getting worse.
Literally every single one of you crying right now will be crying exactly the same way when these players feck the next manager over.
Because the players were willing to take what Moyes is telling them onboard.Look at how we are playing and then tell if the manager is doing anything right.
Look at how Everton were under Dyche and how they are playing now. You will understand how a good manager can improve the players and the team as a whole.
Why did we even hire a manager who is making the team somehow worse than when he got them, which actually takes a lot considering where we were when he camr.
Someone who plays 4 at the back then target someone like Thomas Frank in the summer. That’s our level now.Say we sack him. Where do we go from there ? Whom do we appoint as interim
We smashed them 4-0 a few weeks back. It just that Everton now have a better manager than us now.Loving how anyone believe these players are better than Everton’s players![]()
Behave, man. About four weeks ago this Everton side were headed for the drop and couldn’t buy a goal or keep a clean sheet. A new manager came in and did what managers are supposed to do
ETH should be under investigation for criminal corruption and embezzlement, with a long prison sentence on the lineHow the hell did EtH and the board come up with this squad?
EtH will be lucky to work again in football.
We smashed them 4-0 a few weeks back. It just that Everton now have a better manager than us now.
Key word here being "might"...and if they don't? We're then 2 years down with having spend money on prayers that the next manager probably won't want here.He still gets until the end of next season no matter what for me
We have to give managers a proper chance or will be in this cycle for another decade.
He needs a pre season, hopefully 4/5 signings and things might improve next season
Correct. You need absolute balance to be a good team.Positioning of individual players are awful. Either too wide apart hence poor passing, or too close hence hard to pass. Take the counter-attack at the 50s min, I saw 4 players rushing on the RHS about 10y apart, with the ball end up out of bound. We played like primary school boys rushing to have a great time, absolutely no formation at all.
So when we finish below them this season (and nearly everyone else) it's conclusive evidence that they are better? How did they finish 7 places above them last season then?

The formation means ‘we have to start 3 crap centre backs at the expense of a player in midfield’ - mate we have nothing but crap in midfield either. We have to play Casemiro there as it is, were you finding another non-crap mid?Anyone (Amorim included) trying to downplay the importance of a formation is talking out of their hole.

Amorim has shown nothing whatsoever in England that makes him any better than Moyes. Quite the opposite, Moyes is streets aheadSure they do![]()
The players can’t play the system, the manager is refusing to be pragmatic to at least boost the players confidence and get results. This is completely unacceptable.Literally every single one of you crying right now will be crying exactly the same way when these players feck the next manager over.

My bad mate, I've quoted the wrong post.
Don’t speak so soon with Ipswich coming to OT next.United aren't getting relegated when Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton exist. These teams are even worse than United.
Obviously not. However if we were to finish 7 places and 20 points below them this season then there would a strong argument to be made that they have a better squad than us.So when we finish below them this season (and nearly everyone else) it's conclusive evidence that they are better?
So the manager just came in and the players collectively decided we won’t listen to anything he says?Because the players were willing to take what Moyes is telling them onboard.
Our players have stopped listening. Look at the mistakes they're making
Keeping him would be worse than keeping ETH last summerWe have really fecked up bringing in Amorim. I’d be loathe to waste a fortune on players for this system in the summer just for him to be sacked by Christmas.
Good post. It’s why my first choice was Nagelsmann but he apparently doesnt want to leave the NT gig just yet. He’s very flexible with his approach and formations.Anyone (Amorim included) trying to downplay the importance of a formation is talking out of their hole.
