Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Starting 5 defenders + 2 defensive midfielders at almighty Everton is strange.

The team is dire, but not relegation form dire,he had to go
This is the main problem. Add Onana we have 8 defensive players.
Players who are not generally goal scorers.

We only remain with 3 attacking players. Who are extremely poor in their own skin. Then you wonder why we dont score.

Amorim is delusional as they come.

Literally every single one of you crying right now will be crying exactly the same way when these players feck the next manager over.
Are you saying he has no blame in this? That we are 16th and in free fall because the players are barely above championship level?

So Pickford isn't better than Onana?
Branthwaite vs De Ligt
Beto vs Hojlund...

You're getting into arguing how good Dalot is to prove otherwise .

This team is dire.
De Ligt is better. The rest I would agree with

all of those players are better than their everton counterparts. if amorim had the team playing well you'd think differently. its the coaching that makes these players look as bad a they are.
They are certainly not all better. Only De Ligt is.

We asked for a complete reset, this is what it looks like. He needs his players before we get to judge him fully. Accept the short term pain

That's great and all, but this club doesn't have the money for a complete reset, or even a half reset. Most of these players will be starting next season, but by that point they wouldn't even bother listening to what he has to say. The moment they give up, he is done, no matter what INEOS or anyone in the club says, because they can't be replaced. And it looks like this moment is approaching.

I don't think he is necessarily at fault, though. Because he said himself he is not changing anything and it was clear to absolutely everyone this squad doesn't fit his football at all. And I do think he is a good coach and appreciate him sticking to his principles. But this is not the type of coach that this club needed. Not listening to Ashworth was a catastrophic mistake and INEOS shoulder this blame. They sometimes get things right, but I believe the club is going down the shitter with them in charge.

Just look at them. Do they look like they're trying hard to get back in the game? These players are downing tools because they know they're not good enough to play in Amorims system.

Look at how we defended on both goals and ask yourself the same question. He's trusting these players to perform to the right standard and not embarrass the club.

Can't see how anybody recovers from this? In modern football has any top club manager turned things around from something this bad. I want him to but simply don't think it's possible

We look worse every week and keep finding new little areas of the game to be worse in

Lose the Ipswich next week and we will hear how he is doing a miraculous job of keeping us in the PL with players not fit to play in the championship. The mental gymnastics to somehow absolve the manager is hilarious.

Do you have an example of a manager improving our situation?
LVG improved us, then couldn't take us any further and we correctly sacked him

Mourinho improved us immediately, but eventually everyone got sick of him so we correctly sacked him

Ole improved us immediately, took us as far as he could, and so we correctly sacked him

I'm not sure where this narrative comes from that it's been steady decline since SAF retired, when in reality it's been ups and downs throughout.

Awful formation. 2 in midfield doesn't work in the PL, hasn't worked since about 2007.

Far too many defenders on the pitch.

Striker is always isolated.

Expecting fullbacks to play like wingers.

Yet he persists week in week out. Madness.

They improved us without signings?

In every aspect of our play, we have got worse since ETH. And that is saying something. We can't defend. We concede every game pretty much. We don't know how to score. We look less confident. We can't pass. We can't press. Amorin has made us worse and it's worrying how I'm reading so many posts about us not scoring another league goal. The players are mid table but not this bad. I've turned today because we can't continue like this.

He’s embarrassing himself.

I’ll love to see what Mourinho could do with our remaining games, he’d absolutely take the piss out of what this guy has managed with pragmatism and flexibility.

This is a disaster,

I like Amorins conviction of staying true to his system, and speaking so forth rightly.

But i don't think the players can play this system, and he can't replace them all.

I'm also absolutely convinced that a 3-4-3 will not work in the premier league and this system is doomed to fail.

Because of that, i think he needs to go. I also think we can't afford (financially) to let him go now. So we are stuck with this horror show. I think we will be in relegation dog fight next season. The squad, with this system, is a squad that could be relegated..

Maybe he needs less training sessions? It seems the more we train the more shit we get
