Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

It's not so much the system but his persistance in playing 5 defenders. Mind boggling. Keeps doing it and we keep looking shit. Needs to be much braver if he wants to make it here

This system is the problem.
Big teams dont use it. But magically we will be perfectionist with it. Life doesn't work like that.

In PL you need 3 real midfielders. Anything short of that you will be playing catch-up game

Good thing is Arteta was also a wingback manager and he changed to 433 and Arsenal fortunes changed immediately.

He needs to change tact ASAP
Are we forgetting Chelsea won 2 UCL’s & a PL with it?

And I’m sure City have used it before

I didn't say he should start. But I'm sure a 17-year-old with his build will be able to handle more than 3 minutes, though.
I know you didn't say he should start. My point is that he shouldn't be expected to play at all. He isn't ready.

Standing there watching some of the shit on that pitch and do absolutely nothing until the 90th minute is mind boggling.

I mean I feel for him, our players constantly make wrong decisions, whatever tactics and instructions he provides won't make up for all those wrong decisions and don't start on me on Garna basically missing a sitter or Zirkzee leaving the ball in to Bruno behind him or Bruno's constant rash passes, there is nothing Amorim can do about all that.

But, he should've subbed in few of the youngesters after the 75 mins mark, we would've lost anyway but it would've been fun to see some youth player given a run.

Not looking good but our pitchforks should be firmly pointed at Ineos right now and not him.

Most dissapointed I've been with him. Fecking coward accepting our 3rd defeat of the season against the worst Spurs side in decades. He won't last long.

- Dorgu rwb, no dorgu lwb
- Bruno 10, no CM, no no 10
- Mainoo CM, maybe 10, let’s try false 9
- Zirkzee 9 or 10, let’s see. We try both
- Mazraoui rwb? cb? lwb? Ok, play him anywhere
- Amad. Hmmm, play him rwb then 10. Keep switching
- Garnacho is not good enough to start, but he is good enough to start
- Hojlund is so poor, but let’s keep him on the pitch
- Casemiro past it, but keep him there doing nothing
- Subs on the bench, keep them on the bench
- Onana lots of mistakes but won’t drop him

I want Amorim to succeed, but he is doing a lot not to succeed

ETH made a series of absolutely horrendous purchases, which the club then bought at ridiculously inflated prices. This profligacy might well be unrivalled in the history of football.

I'm starting to lose faith. He's too stubborn for his own good, and we're overall worse than when he took over.

I think the fact that he's very charismatic is making some people ignore our awful performances. We aren't making any progress, so it's just a matter of faith rather than any evidence.

We're very defensive, we're so boring, and nobody seems to be in form.

I didn't expect us to do anything impressive this season, but imo good managers show progress. We also clearly don't have the money to buy him a new squad.

At one point in the first half for over 10 mins they had 75% possession against us. The system is clearly isn't working and/or he can't get it to work these players.

Both he and the players need to improve, except it's his job, reputation and faith from the fans to lose now.
Possession doesn't mean or indicate anything, and that was at one stage over the 90mins.

On another day we win 2-1 and everything looks better. Is it Amorim's fault for Garnacho blazing a simple (for an international footballer) opportunity yards over the bar from 10 yards? Zirkzee had a chance which any top striker puts in and Hojlund for the effort he had cut have easily used his brain and cut back on to his right foot when he knows Spence is diving in. It's a lack of quality.

Jeez he would have still given fresh energy compared to HOijlund and Casemiro who were gassed.

Even Macheda produced brilliance as a sub doesnt mean he was ready to play as a regular.
And how did that work out for Macheda? We can't be expecting a 17 year old to come into the side to fix things.

How was "Why don’t you just support a different team? " constructive.

The way you keep going on about people not going to games, and yet here you are posting non stop on a forum......whilst at the game?

Supporting doesn’t mean lapping it up and accepting it. Supporting is also criticism and wanting better.
Haven’t been to an away in a decade and don’t plan to either. That’s for younger folk than me.

I’ve said all I want to and it’s clearly hit a little close to home for some people. I apologise, but genuinely, you’re looking at United through a lens that doesn’t exist any more, so you’re never going to be happy with it.

All over now, and we lost, so not much to be positive about. I’ll swerve this thread for a while because it’s going to be more of the same and I think the system and the manager is a complete red herring. I think at our best we’re 8th based on talent, and that’s fully firing and confident. Which we are not. Happy Sunday people!

Whether he’s the right guy we will never know, because the club is a mess, but he’s not good enough to grind out results or get us playing productive football. He’s using a system that isn’t working and he hasn’t the tactical nous to change it. Shame we can’t sack him because he’s useless for a relegation fight. He’s gonna take us down and then leave.

It was a tap-in today for him to give some minutes to academy players and he bottled it.

I can't wait until the day I won't have to see 5 at the back again.

People have finally realised that just because we get a new manager he is not the messiah. He is a clown because the what he is serving on the pitch is beyond a circus. He is found out beyond his pretty interviews he has no beef.
And yet EtH’s interviews were uninspiring as well and look how that turned out

I feel for him with the injuries, but the issues we've seen today are the issues we've been seeing in every game. It's nothing new. He's been a disaster and has done nothing to show that he deserves to be backed.

Ultimately though, the issue is with the board. I honestly think you'd struggle to find many squads in the league less suited to this formation than ours. Now, if you've got the means to completely overhaul the squad, then fine, you can just write the season off and focus on the next. But we're skint. We'll probably bring in a few players over the summer, but the majority of this team will still be here next season.

INEOS have had two big decisions to make since coming in, sacking Ten Hag and choosing his replacement and they've flubbed both of them.

I know you didn't say he should start. My point is that he shouldn't be expected to play at all. He isn't ready.
Thats a matter of opinion. I'm unsure about that one. What we do know is moorehouse has done very well, looks ready and Casemiro looked dead for at least the final 10. You can't explain making feck all subs in that situation.

And the decision to throw him on for the final 2 mins was just so weird. Why do it? He obviously wasn't even going to touch the ball.

No subs is ludicrous kids or not, but he can’t make players out the ball in the net, Garnacho and Zorkzee both should have scored today, Dalot had a great opportunity as well.

8 losses in 12 games is criminal and he might not make it to the end of the season as it is.

People are really desperate if they believe a bunch of youngsters would have done anything today.

Today’s loss has nothing to do with tactics and everything to do with the lack of quality and money we have wasted. The only players worth keeping in the squad out of the X1 are Bruno, MdL, Garnacho, Dorgu (only because he just got here) and at a stretch Maz. I will drive Hojlund and Casemiro personally out of the club. Zirkzee is another player who looks good in patches but has no intensity and won’t ever be successful in the PL.

I hope you are very young with posts like this. Otherwise, the circus is in your backyard.

I want to see him with a summer window to change things

But he might not get the chance. Everton will surely be favourites next Saturday. Then we have Ipswich at home. If they cause an upset it could be curtains

I think i have had enough of this Fraud and this 3-4-3 or whatever shit is being served. Spurs are having a nightmare of a season and riddled with injuries and every other team has beaten them recently. But obviously we would be the team to lose to them.

I think we need to sack him and try to salvage out whatever we can of this season by either getting the Fa cup or Europa league. This manager is a coward as well. Zhirkee, Casemiro and Hojlund were all done in the last 20 mins, what's the harm in sending 3 youngsters to see what they are all about. What's the worst that could happen we would have lost 2. A loss is a loss anyway, but it shows he does not have the bravery of top managers. The likes of Rashford, Garnacho etc all came on to the scene because of injury crises and a manager trusted them, it also sends a wrong signal to the youth players.
   Pure muppetry

I would be looking to sack him asap. Letting him have even one kobo in the summer to spend on players would be a massive mistake.

The only thing I'm confident about is that next season will be just as crazy a shitshow as this season.

Sir Alex would have sold Rashford years ago. He got rid of bigger and better players than rashford
Bollox. He got rid of them for bigger reasons than, x stopped running and smiling.... and let's be honest, while he was here standards rarely dropped like they currently have, for many. That's not on Amorim, SAF is a rare breed.... and still misunderstood by many.

Yeah, was shocking. Casemiro wouldn't even get into a Soccer Aid team now. He would have been happy to come off after 60 mins given he hasnt played for a while. I dont get it.
