Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Legit didn't understand our approach to the window. I can rationalise not making substantial moves and/or even not bringing an attacker and waiting for the summer/not panic buy. Fine

but why allow players to leave? you still need the bodies/a squad - as the possibility of injuries and suspensions are always looming
Players had to leave because the goalkeeping coach is a better player than Rashford and despite the flashes he showed under him apparently Antony wasn't good enough also.

Cost cutting. Profit for shareholders. Who cares about football.

The thing is I totally understand the cuts and getting players wages off the the bill and then trying to make it to the summer. However the rest of the squad has been incredibly bad and we have failed spectacularly.

If we pick up any more injuries we are in a real bind. Can't see us scoring many goals, need to just sit deep and hit them on the break every game. Dyche style till the end of the year please.

Looking for the positive side, might be the moment some youngsters rise up to the occasion. It would be a bad idea to rely on Casemiro or Ericksen, with no disrespect.

Ugarte and Bruno for the middle.
Zirkzee and Garnacho for the AM.
Dalot and Dorgu for the wings.

And kids coming from the bench. Might be the best time to do it.

Ugarte is injured apparently

Just like last season, our players are dropping like flies. So many injuries again. Amorim is in serieus trouble.

Ok

Yes, but doubtful.

But i was talking also for the next few games.

Use the unfortunate moment, to try and find who's head is there for the pro level.

Without fear and without worries about the standings at the end of the season.

He's done. We'll lose the next few games and the club will panic about relegation and sack him. Letting Rashford leave is starting to look idiotic already.

Not like you to freak out and expect the worst of a situation.

The Rashford that's playing for Villa on loan is not the one we've seen for the last two years, and not the one we'd be getting if he was still here.

Getting rid of that Marcus Rashford couldn't be the wrong decision.

Correct - regardless of how well he plays at Villa, it wasn't happening here

Hindsight is a bitch I will admit, I was praising the decision myself. But now we look fecked with the numbers in attack.

Maybe that full training session after the Leicester game has come back and bit him in the ar5e! haha

Wish we could fast forward to pre season when things are looking up again. Can’t wait to storm the championship!

Really fantastic post.

Appreciate cool-headed posters in a sea full of delusional and emotional ones.
And the worst part is some on the CAFE think I want Ruben Amorim sacked, I don’t but he has to be more accountable, let’s not pretend that the hierarchy didn’t bully him to let Rashford and Antony go out and loan and not bring in a replacement.

Now we have Amad out for the rest of the season and to think these morons who currently run our club actually wanted to sell Garnaucho as well.

I think RA is a class act, my issue is I’m not convinced of the INEOS clowns whose record in football is genuinely dire being able to support him in the way he needs, they continue to make mistake after mistake with glaringly god awful football decisions!

Berrada was the one who pushed for Amorim. Ashworth suggested we take a measured approach and hire an external company to assist but Ratcliffe hated that and wanted decisive action. So Berrada pushed Amorim and did the major work on getting him. So if he fails then Berrada has to go too.
Yep this is my take too, however we must be realistic. If we get the 3 wins we need from 14 games to secure PL football and end up as I suspect knocked out Fa Cup 5th or 6th Round and then knocked out of Europa In round of 16 of 1/4 Final but we finally start to see a system.

Then both Berrada and RA should be given to Xmas 11/12 PL games would be more than enough to see an improvement, especially as we won’t be playing 2 games per week but instead 1 game per week?

Nothing less than 20-24 points and a top 5 position in the EPL should then be accepted.
The biggest problem we have is that SJR is incredibly impatient and he will not tolerate 15-17th place this season, if he continues to lose 54% of his PL games, then SJR will probably get rid of both of them?

Ashworth must have been working under his probation period and maybe Berrada is coming to the end of his so maybe this might cost the club too much financially!

But you seriously get the impression that SJR and Brailsford are interfering far too much on football decisions?

He just trained the players to the ground. Is that 4 injuries in a week of training? What's he doing with them?

This is my stance on it. He's done nothing to earn my faith in him. Every other manager had by the time he'll have had. If you can't beat them then...
Same.

Still don’t see the logic in bringing a coach in who adheres to a specific style that the new club hasn’t played. And worse, doesn’t have players up to the task.

Moyes has the same amount of points as Amorim does now, even though he’s managed half the amount of games. Our squad is better than Everton.

Even if Rashford didn't leave I still wouldn't want him to play.

It's fecking Stockholm syndrome. The bloke has done nothing but take the piss for the last 5 years (barring 3 month of form) and there are people still saying it's bad we got rid.

I'd have preferred the manager and the club not push the nuclear option button and give it to the end of the season to see what could be done. And if there's a mutual parting of the ways in the summer? Fine. We are not in a position to not do everything possible to try to turn him around. Clearly stuff has gone on behind the scenes and they decided being left short would be better than trying to rehab him. We'll see.

He's fecked. Squad was shit when he came in and they made it even worse in Jan.

Even the summer they are saying sell to buy. Considering hes gonna need like 6+ players to have a chance we are fecked because he is never gonna get that in the summer.

Club is absolutely shite

Because you weigh up the benefits of them staying vs leaving on loan.

If the loans go well, clear benefits. Plenty of extra millions added to the player.

If they stay? I'm not sure. A few more points at the end of the season possibly?

He's beyond help, he's been shit for multiple managers, what's the point in keep paying a premium for a player who doesn't offer a premium output?

It's like cancer, cut it out before it spreads. The club have 100% made the right decision, regardless of the trajectory of Rashford's career from here, because he's clearly shown he's unwilling to give 100% in a united shirt

Millions can be added to the player if they stay as well. I mean, we are in a few competitions still - and as stated in the post you quoted - we have a decent shout at the Europa, which would grant us entrance to the CL and alleviate some of our financial pressure - that amounts to more than just a few points, but to even go for it you need bodies, even if the players aren’t of great quality, you still need the bodies

First team squad has to be planned taking into consideration potential injuries/suspensions, as well
