Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

What's his record like with young players? I hope we see a few more of the academy lads getting their chance under him.

Happy with the quick work to hire a new permanent manager, he is an excellent young coach
Amorim gets the job. Hopefully we can give our first opponents a good licking under him!

I am reporting you to the authorities.

You must be stopped, by all means

It’s a shame though because weve always had a really good relationship with sporting and their fans.

But it's perfectly normal, he brought them success after 20 years of relative struggle. Most fanbases would be divided between extreme disappoint/anger/fear and gratitude.

It’s very good. Apparently he set aside “established” players and gave chances to youngsters when he took over.

Lucky No. 6? Amorim will be the 6th permanent manager since Fergie. Fergie was the 6th permanent manager after Busby (not including Busby's brief return in70/71).

That's good to hear, that's what we need. We need that lifeblood coming through keeping everyone on their toes

I'm here at the beggining of it all. When there is a sliver of light. A ray of hope.

I will check back in 2 years.

What do you mean? I’m just hoping he deals with our holes in the middle. He’s tasted success at Sporting so hopefully he can do the same at United and clean up our mess.

I think the best thing about this appointment so far is the relatively little fuss and waiting that the new ownership group has done to get this over the line.
It's obvious there is now a plan in place and a ruthless streak on order to get that plan in operation.
Here's hoping it is the start of an uphill trajectory.

I don't care if it's a new manager (again) but I'm excited. LFG!

Welcome Ruben.

I think we will see a very very large turnaround in our League and European form. It will highlight how badly we were coached in both competitions, and quickly.

Can’t wait for him to start.

Omar is a killer man.

Moves silently and decisively.

Very much enjoy how quickly this happened from sacking to appointment.

Being appointed Head Coach as opposed to 'Manager' is important semantics, right?

There's a proper structure in place now and one geared around supporting the coaching and playing staff. It's not all on one individual anymore, and that can only be a good thing I think.

Took a peek at Sporting's reddit and they are fuming (understandably so). There's a few reasonable folks saying they should appreciate what he did for them, and they understand the move as it's his career and most people wouldn't pass up on this chance, but there's some guys in there that are on pure hatred mode.

There's even a giant post with a bunch of fanfiction about United saying we have players that are contractually obligated to be in the team/starting 11. They keep referencing Van Gaal, Mourinho & Ronaldo as corroboration - saying we're not going to go anywhere, this is a step backwards, we are heavily in debt, our stadium is falling apart, we don't even have proper training facilities, Qatar would have fixed us, but our parasite owners went with reh reh reh, we're 20 years away from competing with City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa or Spurs, he won't be successful here because it's impossible to be so, etc etc, like all sorts of insults. Even saw some guys saying they'll boo him tonight

sheesh
Aberdeen fans were not happy when their manager left back in -86 either. Signs of things to come.
On the other hand, some Ajax fans were crying when Donny left them, so not sure what to expect.

Yeah I'm not convinced it suits this club though. Are we going to start seeing someone above Amorim speaking to the press about recruitment, for example, to take some of the pressure from him?

You need a big personality and broad shoulders to lead Manchester United, whatever job title you're given. Deliberately relegating him to head coach seems like we're undermining him from the start. I hope I'm wrong, but we all know the press in this country will pick mercilessly at any perceived weakness.

I guess it will take a fare amount of time for our players to transition to his usual formation, I would assume he will have to adapt his usual 3421 until we understand and have the personnel to play it effectively, it shall be interesting to watch squad development over the next year or so, it will be great to see some possession football again.

I know very little about him, but welcome the change. ETH was becoming a toxic figure, and something had to happen.

I wish our new manager the best of luck. Let's give him our support.

Predictions aside, they sure seem to know their stuff.
