Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Then he shouldn’t have been hired.
He probably shouldn’t then, if he’s unable to adapt at all. It runs counter to the idea behind INEOS building a club structure in which the manager is interchangeable. The whole idea was for the manager not having to come in and change the entire squad because no club can afford that. Now we need, what, three wingbacks and three no. 10s because we hired a manager who’s married to a formation his eventual replacement is bound to bin? It makes no sense.

Needs to adapt to his squad, like any good manager. 5-4-1 is not the way for Man United and never will be.
Too much emphasis made on formation. That is not the problem, it’s the basic stuff, one touch passing, rondos etc. Look at the number of poor passes we have made in the wolves game. Every player’s touch is bad, passes are woefully underhit or overhit all the time. We have two tall strikers who can’t hold the ball up.

Fantastic we have once again gone chasing after the latest hipster coach from a mediocre league and it's back fired again.

Sorry but we need to stop acting like every manager that comes in is some kind untouchable God, he is not good enough, just like ten hag. Should have went for proper proven manager like emery, no brainer.

If i was him Id walk, and go back to sporting who just sacked their manager. Salvage some reputation while he can.

He’s been in the job 5 minutes and hasn’t signed a single player he wants yet.. calm your fecking tits.. Christ.

I don't think he survives this season if keeps getting poor results, I don't think it's an indication of him being a poor coach / manager either but perhaps he's the manager who should have come after another who's able to steady the ship so to speak.

Heard Liverpool passed on hiring him due to uncertainty in their squad's feasibility for the system and that caution is the very issue United are having right now.

It's a broken squad.
He'll be lucky to see February. Even without the red card it was dreadful.

Not his fault but this team is not set up for his tactics. He doesn't have the players. He either needs to adjust the tactics or management has to realize they fecked up. Maybe Amorim was too early for us. We needed Sean Dyche to stop leaking goals first. Joking about Dyche obviously but not joking in terms of what needed to be fixed.
Not again. We have to hold the managers responsible for the basic stuff. How is that Bournemouth, Wolves et al look miles above us in pressing and passing.

Starting to look a little grim to be fair. Don't get why he started playing with two defensive wingbacks. We looked so much better with Amad on the wingback.

Liverpool thought logically in hiring a manager that actually suits the players they had, we on the other hand went for a manager that does not fit with the current players and demands another never ending rebuild process

We’re committing way too few players forward. That’s on the formation, or rather his decision to make said formation overly defensive by picking defensive wing-backs.

I think it's admirable to try and use his system but he needs to stop this formation. It's not working with these bunch of players. We would finish 8th-10th with the old tactics. We may get dragged into a relegation battle at it is.
We were terrible before this. How do you think we ended up sacking ETH?

We went into the season with a team that couldn't score. Also a team that was wide open in transition.

We are starting the game with 6 defensive players including Ugarte. What on earth did we think was going to happen!

He really needs to speak about referees. No other top 6 teams conceed more unfavourable calls than we do.

It feels like free for all for Man Utd to get decisions in which could go either way.

Feck adapting to the squad. How many coaches do we have to go through before people realise ffs?
The team is rotten and full of shit that can’t even execute simple things.

This season is a write off.

Honestly what the feck is he supposed to do. The players are idiots. There is so much bullshit every single game that just cannot be accounted for. He’s been here for 25 days. You can’t change a team from top to bottom in that time.

This thread makes no fecking sense. People agree this squad is shit yet blame him for not having said shit squad playing well as he tries to bring in his system? So he should scrap the system to better suit the players that people know are shit? Idiots

Perhaps don’t start the game with 6 defensive players so we can offer something going forward. That might help.

IMO the players haven't taken to him. Sadly player power is the biggest issue for any football club, you can't sack them all and let him bring in his own players. However many of these will never fit his system. They know it and so they are phoning in the performance levels. Keep losing matches though and his job will become untenable, it's an unenviable situation to find yourself in and he's a rookie manager with little experience of dealing with such issues.

The formation is part of the problem! It completely doesn't suit us and nullifies most of our attacking players. He needs to adapt otherwise he'll be sacked by Feb.

We’ve got Newcastle and Liverpool in our next two PL matches. He has to start winning games at some point…

This is all on the people who wanted to keep Ten Hag in the summer.

Amorim could have signed players that suited his formation and had a full pre season coaching his system.

We're now suffering the consequences.

Sad that some are only going to make it about the mistakes, sure they don't help but the first 45 mins were utter dross as well. Nothing is working.

He's supposed to abandon his style, his system, his tactics, and all his own ideas, and revert back to whatever formation is best suited to this group of idiots. Apparently

Can't believe people want another manager to get a brand new team before he shows he deserves it. No wonder we are in this shit. From the upper management down to fans we are filled with utter morons.

Yes, the squad is bad. Very bad infact. But it's not 13th bad.

I like Ruben but he has to show more before he can be trusted with money to buy players. Him having a free hit this season doesn't mean that he has a free pass to coast by & not improve us.

 You people are not tired. We’ve hired every kind of manager. They have all failed.

I think people are annoyed we have lost to Forest, Bournemouth and now could lose to Wolves. A few weeks ago we saw all these games as winnable.
