Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Fair enough dude. I think we agree about Amorim anyway :)
We do - I was genuinely thrilled about today and still am. I shouldn't let idiot posts ruin my mood anymore. There's still one child trying to wum after I told him to move on.
Anyway its a big win, I can't say there's areas to improve going forward or someone will cry about Eric Ten Hag.

I don't think ETH was wrong for the Sancho comments but his bluntness probably wasn't the best way of going about it. It looks like Garnacho and Rashford were in a similar situation (i.e. everyone is fit and he has to leave some players out of the squad) but I don't come away thinking he's hung them out to dry. I suppose it's a benefit of being a good communicator.

I'm thrilled with the win, but I'm a bit annoyed now to be fair because of posts like yours where you've assumed something completely false from a post that was not out to get anyone, nor was it whingy.

I've been right about of plenty of things - and I was wrong about Ten Hag, but I'm not going to let your ill informed and poor takes ruin my mood anymore - I'll enjoy my win and you can try not to get wound up from one post where I've credit our coach albeit feeling fortunate. Get over it, I'm happy, thrilled - I won't let you annoy me anymore.
I will continue to hold you accountable :)
It's the price of having been one of Ten Hag's top 3 defenders.

But please don't take it as mean spirited, it's not serious. Enjoy the win.

For anyone telling you we didn't deserve shit... Tell them this..

This was our first away win against "top 6" in PL since Ole was sacked. Finally we are recovering.

Amorim quotes on Rashford is awesome, looks like Rashford will be gone, the way he is handling things is very good.
Are you sure about Rashford?

He was very lucky today but I love his trust in Amad and general approach to building this team back up. I do want to see us go for games more though - today was a very fortunate win and we'll take it all day long as we build.
Wasn't lucky

The whinging is really odd. I mean you just got an important league derby win away, you haven't been able of getting one of those in ages, having a pattern of getting humiliated in multiple big games and you still can't enjoy this.

Let me give some perspective. You got a new coach, without a pre season and with limited full squad training who inherited a mediocre imbalanced squad. It takes times to build something. You can't expect prime tiki taka Spain/Barcelona football with this little time of Amorim field work. I'd advise you to enjoy the derby win against a team who although is struggling has dominated English football in the last 4 to 5 year who have arguably the best manager in the world. More enjoyment, less whinge.

You didn’t hold him to the standards I think is what they’re getting at.
I've agreed we were shite on plenty of ocassions, I was just against the sack and that was probably due to my own anchoring as a supporter being too loyal to a manager. I said this in retrospect, whilst 1) agreeing I was wrong on Ten Hag and 2) saying I'll probably back Amorim for longer than the rest too.

The post that got a reaction was not a whinge, not overly critical but I had frankly childish replies that had no intent outside of winding me up and insulting me as a supporter of the club.

Ruben Amorim: "You understand for so long we try something with Rash, it doesn't work. Let's continue to do the same thing or try something different? It's as simple as that. They have to work hard. Today they trained really hard."

Great result today, we need to find a way to get more attacking threat and especially via the wingbacks. As soon as we show some threat, we look dangerous but we need to be doing that consistently which will lead to more goals.

Yep this is a fair point, Amorim is just a much better communicator which helps with better English. The words he is using today should be a kick up the backside for the players left out. I don't think Sancho was hung out to dry however but that is for a different thread.

The Rashford quote is brilliant. Shows how tone deaf he is if true.

"Today they trained really hard". Wow, that's cutting.

But but but Rashford is a sensitive soul who needs an arm around his shoulder...

Turns out he just needs a good old fashioned kick up the backside.

Amorim is the real deal, isn't he.

Sporting fans said he can have empathy with his players, but can also be very ruthless if you don't toe the line.

That's one hell of a quote.
I said on the club ownership thread, that with Ineos sacking every Tom and Dick and being tight with money, even if they sack the wrong person or refuse to pamper any staff (christmas party or anything) the most important impression it gives is.... Now it's serious business.

Absolutely vital, Amorim has said this publicly. The era of pampering people who are 8th placed on the league, last on Champions League group stage has to end.

Whoever feels United should be a rehabilitation center for broken players, manager or employee should just resign and leave. We need utmost responsibility for being associated with the club. For anyone.

As Ineos is draining the swamp, Amorim should drain it more with these players.

I think the difference I’m seeing between ETH and this guy in terms of setting standards is that ETH wanted hard work, and made some crucial decisions based on it which you couldn’t knock him for, but Amorim sounds like he wants the work ethic and the togetherness. For too long we have been a team of individuals.

I think calling it lucky is what got the reaction. You could argue we were unlucky not to win by more, so to say it’s lucky we won is a stretch. It’s obviously still a subject that has left deep wounds for some, which is understandable when you see some of his signings still stinking the place out and players struggling to adapt to a more controlled way of football. Eventually it’ll be forgotten no doubt, but you wouldn’t concede an inch for a long time when it came to ETH, so you’re just setting yourself up when you bring negativity after beating a rival like City.

Adds nothing to the discussion

How were we fortunate? Are you still mad because of EtH or something?
