Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Just out of curiosity does any other team post videos of their training sessions so it goes viral? Just asking because we seem to be giving our opponents inside knowledge on what we do and how we’re going to play etc.

Just watched the training video. Be interested to see if he was happy with it being shared. Gives away a bunch of stuff tactically.
As I’ve just posted. We’re giving opponents info on what we do. Not sure if any other teams do it or if I haven’t noticed because obviously I don’t pay attention to other clubs.

Meh it’s very general stuff that I think any team would already know. It’s not like we are getting all of his whiteboard stuff preparing for Ipswich

Surely they would have seen his Sporting team by now to see how he plays? Teams literally have analysts looking at videos of how teams play week in week out but somehow they are going to find something new and groundbreaking from a 5 min video?

I mean it isn’t exactly state secrets

If our opponents want to see how we will play they just have to watch the countless sporting matches under Amorim. I doubt there is anything in these videos that oppositions wouldn't already know.

I don't think sprinting back when you lose possession is something advanced or even something you can counter

Teams normally put out some sort of training videos occasionally. This being Ruben first training sessions, it was expected to be posted given the anticipations from fans. Think of this like when pre season just start, teams post training videos for fans after waiting a while to get back to football.

I’m not talking about the formation.
Don’t be pedantic. People know how Amorim plays, he’s kind one dimensional in that regard and teams will know how to play him. Also a 7 minute clip clearly isn’t the whole training session and he will have surprises up his sleeve if he is as good as everybody says. It’s really not a huge concern.

Ok.

I, for one, had no idea that we would play 3-4-3 until this 7 minute training video came out. Complete shock.

The reason why nobody in the club really cares about showing the training session is because any opponent is going to be more prepared for our 343 then our players to execute this anyway.

Was wondering about that

I think the difference is the feeling around the club, even though Ten Hag came in with similar feelings, the mood is different. I remember how toxic the whole place was after Ole / Rangnick and it was a real issue. The culture was also an issue then.

It seems this time a manager is coming in to coach the team and not deal with all the external elements other managers had to.
Yeah major difference plus the supporting structure compiled of people who are seemingly excellent at what they do.

Aargh, now we know why peps/klopps teams have been successful - it’s because they’ve never shared their training videos online so teams couldn’t figure them out! (Not like anyone could study actual footage of matches either!)

Very impressed with this compared to some of the training videos from ten Hags time.

This guy knows exactly how he wants to play and is very demanding that the players are giving 100%.
From that footage you can clearly see he's trying to reinstall some speed and intensity into this side.

It's hard to get excited as a United fan nowadays but I think Amorim could be the real deal.

I'd have thought multiple seasons at Sporting would do that as opposed to a 6 min training vid.

He's no longer at Sporting so anything from that period would be a guess. He also has different players with different profiles. He may very well play exactly the same way but we will have to wait until Sunday to find out.

Interested to know from Sporting fans, if the players don't do what's requested of them on the field of play, basic stuff like tracking back, putting in challenges, chasing back if you give the ball away etc. We saw in the training video, one moment where he said 'Shaw you lost ball, run back'!
If these basics aren't carried out, will players be dropped? face consequences? Amorim seems a nice guy but I can see an edge in him. I could see him hauling players off if they're not carrying out his instructions. Unlike Eth who'd just keep selecting players who let him down.

6 minutes video cut from few hours of the first ever training with more then half first team players missing would be as helpful to our opponents as finding out that one of the ingredients in Colonel Sanders secret recipe is chicken :O,

Trying to keep the ball and coming back if you lose it is like B and C from football’s ABC.

Do not be ridiculous

City literally let Amazon in to do a season documentary and it hasn't done Pep any harm.

In general though. I do agree we should keep the tactical training more secretive and just post cardio/technique work etc.

Just a few days. People please manage the expectations appropriately.
But, I feel kinda positive now!

I reckon Ipswich will win by an innings and 287 runs
Amorim loves his 3-4-3; now going in with an aggressive field setting attacking that fourth stump line.

There will be a rude awakening if he believes our players will sprint back
Agreed, and I don't think it's an attitude thing either, a lot of them are just not physically capable of playing this way. A squad overhaul will be needed whether the club likes it or not, or Amorim will likely fail.
