Riyad Mahrez | Staying at Leicester

It's obviously not going to be us considering we have barely been linked with him at all. I know Lukaku signing basically came out of the blue too but he had at least been linked with us a few times before.

Not sure Wenger can get the best out of Mahrez. He needs a tough coach like Mourinho or Conte as he is prone to slacking off. A bit like Mkhi at times.

If it goes wrong, he would just be another player with a soft mentality at Arsenal.

Arsenal looks like a sinking ship at the moment. He would prefer any other top club instead. He'll go to Arsenal only if no one else is interested AND Arsenal pay up the 50m. There have been so many instances where they have dithered around instead of just paying up.

Yeah I don't really see him running around and putting in maximum effort when the going gets tough at Arsenal (which happens very often)

It seems as though Mahrez will go somewhere for a relatively low fee, so you have to question why it's taken until the final day for someone to make a move when he's been openly looking to leave the entire summer. It's as though he's the 'B' or 'C' option for a host of clubs.

He's been rubbish since that season.

Only the 11 goals and 6 assists last season when he was rubbish and 2 assists already this season in three matches. Funny that Mata playing in a better team and similar position was classed as a good, solid performer last year for Utd and he had 10 goals, 6 assists. Having the additional option of Mahrez to bring in would help most teams.

I dont think Mahrez will sign for Utd but the reasons people come up with make me laugh. Hazard was terrible the season Jose got sacked, dont think teams would say no to him because he downed tools or whatever seems to be labeled at Mahrez.

Would you take him at Everton?

Seriously, some people seem to be enjoying slagging him off despite stats being on his side.

I generally think that's the case. He will end up at Arsenal purely because they'll sell Alexis to City. If that deal wasn't happening he'd probably stay at Leicester.

For what it's worth he's not the right player for Arsenal, losing Alexis' work rate will be too much when replacing him with Mahrez. They'll be carrying 2 players every match (Ozil/Mahrez).

Mahrez has taken more penalties, I believe.

The only thing that makes me think there is a small chance we might be getting him is because nobody seems to know where he is going. Will probably end up at Arsenal though.

I am at Manc Airport at the moment so will keep an eye out anyway

Fair point but judging by how useless United are at penalties it would be another bonus to signing him. His set plays be it free kicks or corners are also very good, things we really struggle with. Again not saying he 100% should be signed but he is a very good player, better than what we currently have in reserve and possibly some of our starters. If he goes to Chelsea or Spurs he will improve them. I hope he goes to Roma.

Exactly what we need on that right wing. Creative, glides past players and will provides the width.

He’s coming United boys!! Which I base on no evidence at all

Tottenham also seem like a probable destination. They are better than Arsenal now, should still have money to spend after a quiet Summer and they definitely need more depth in the offense.

Arsenal definitely most likely though. Probably a £50m deal after they sell Sanchez to City for £75m.

No to this one

We can do without half arsed players who are only interested when all is going well so they can take the credit!

Could be Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Liverpool or Utd in the PL.

Would love him at Utd - proven in the league, ready to make the step up, would be a typical Utd signing on a position we clearly need better option. Can't see it happening though, he's been available all summer and we could have easily bought him if Jose wanted him, so dont think we are in for him.

Arsenal does seem the most likely destination, with Sanchez off to City. Lets step in, so City can't get Sanchez!
