I think Griezmann works very hard defensively under Simeone and would continue to do the same under Mourinho. With Matić beside him, I think Pogba would play very well in a 4-2-3-1 with Griezmann.

I'm disappointed we didn't sign Mahrez though. I think he would have added creativity and goal threat on that right flank, mkreso than Mata currently offers despite his intelligent movement.

He wouldn't. He never has. OH MY GOD, STOP IT.

And EVEN if he did (he wouldn't), WHO WOULD PLAY RIGHT WING?!?!?!?! Seriously?! What is the problem you people have?! There is no right winger. None. Zip. THAT is United's problem. Holy Hell, does it need to wear a sandwich board and yell in Manchester town centre?! What does it take?

> @William_Meredith pretty much what I'm saying. I think it's pretty ridiculous to put a cap on what Griezmann would be able to offer as a no.10 when he's shown he's more than capable of making the change and adapting being the world class player he is and all. And so what if he's more a scorer than a creator in comparison to an Ozil, he's still able to play the same position and offer a massive threat. 442 sure he plays a tad higher up the pitch but in a 4231 it wouldn't be the biggest of asks for him to drop back slightly more behind the striker and play more centrally sort of like how Coutinho does. And like this post says, off the ball AG drops back quite a bit to help defensively acting like a 3rd midfielder often times even when he's playing the no.10/SS role. I take it as your a bit narrow minded here with regards to Griezmann's capabilities undermining them and are acting as if we'd be asking Lukaku to play the no.10 position or something ...and just fyi, there's other RWers who can be acquired to play out wide. Don't get why you only see AG to fit the bill there and I guarantee you if he joins United he'll play more centrally than out wide. There's a reason why Mourinho was interested in Bale/Perisic, it's clear he wants a true wide player who can hug the touchline more, get some crosses in, and open up the field for everyone around him / not be so predictable. And like you said, Griezmann cuts in and offers more or less the same Mata does not having much of a wide threat so I don't see the point in acquiring a similar player which doesn't address the wide need who hasn't played there for a number of years now.

> yea bit disappointed as well. Still some late extended deals which are being close to completed but doubt Mahrez to us is one of them unless it comes completely out of the blue. But even then, hopefully we can get that player in Jan or the Summer to finally resolves the RW wide threat and offer us some unpredictability compared to what we have now.

Where is Mahrez?

One report says Chelsea have had a £45 million bid accepted, but that contacts at Leicester don't know about it.

If an English club were to sign him we'd know by now. Either staying put or off to Spain.
