What we need badly is a weeks rest, but we wont get one until after christmas.

Let's see where we stand at around 25 fixtures before we start hysterically jumping off the ship.

That's fine and all, but at this point it will take a bad run of form of 5 different teams (which seems unlikely) and actual consistency from United (which seems even more unlikely), so it's not really that much of a stretch to feel a bit pessimistic.

Jose also isn't exactly known for his long term success. If we're going to have a good second season only to turn back to shit in his 3rd, than I just don't see how this shit is worth it. That said, I don't see any other solution, than to give him time and hope, that he will somehow manage to last a few good years.

I'd like to see the following team ( considering injuries and knocks):

De gea
Valencia Jones blind Shaw
Bastian
Pogba mata
MKH (right wing) martial (left wing)
Rashford

Time to drop ibra he's tired and needs a long rest this winter. Rashford had all the tools to be a striker and is wasted on left wing.

Bastian is a calming influence. can play the Carrick role when he is not injured.

It should be pogba or Ander. both together cannot play. pogba playing box to box to partner bastian when defending and mata when attacking. lingard can't start on this league. he's average.

We just have nobody that can make a pass through the lines from the base of midfield or cb. When there's no blind at cb and carrick in midfield we are inept at catching the opposition off balance. Herrera is OK but often makes the easy sideways pass. All the attacks come from the fullbacks

Scary how carrick is still so desperately needed at his age

When was the last time we make comeback in the match? I really can't remember. As soon as we concede, to me it looks like we can get a draw at most. Self confidence is obviously an issue. Listen to Herrera after game.

Herrera: "Their keeper was the best one more time. That happened against Stoke, Burnley, Arsenal. We don't know what we have to do to win."

Not sure what is the problem anymore. Or at least, there is more then one problem. People are slating defenders, looking for some signings there, but let's be fair, they are solid in recent weeks (beside Chelsea game). We are conceding, but you can always concede from set pieces, and also goals are more result of mistakes of midfielders or forwards.

Upfront, we have players, but they don't work together. We have possession, but we do not look dangerous when we have a ball. We are circling around, making some crosses, but we do not have someone who can pick that up inside. Ibra is playing his own game, he was OK today, but still, he is not a forward we need. Rashford on the wing is not the guy from last year, as obviously it is different position with static forward in front of him. Mourinho is playing him all the time, like he is obliged to, like he is doing it for fans and press, while at the same time it is obviously he is not in form and it is not giving any results. Also, our full backs are not capable to cross the ball. Not sure how is that possible when you are professional, but obviously it is. Valencia is at least giving options on the right, but end product is terrible.

But even team like this one should win these games. On the other hand, I think they want it, they are giving their best, they have freedom to do whatever they want at the field, and still no result.

If Shaw had been fit and on form all season...

If Bailly hadn't been injured...

If Martial had been fit and on form this season...

If Carrick had been used more...

If Carrick was only 25 again...

If Rooney had had better form this season...

If Pogba had played top form all season...

If Micky T had been on form and playing well since we got him...

If Rashford had been played up front more...

If Ibra had been better the last few months...

If Mourinho was picking a more sensible team...

If we had any kind of top class consistent finishers...

If we had better wingers...

If Smalling...

If Lingard...

If Fellaini...

If Darmian...

If no injuries...

If, Rudyard Kipling...

If we were not cursed...

Time will cure all.

Yeah, I'll stop typing now, and continue drinking...

Another game we obviously should have won but didn’t. We had the upper hand, more pressure, more chances which we simply failed at finishing. And their GK was brilliant. Pogba's, Rashford's and Mkhi's shots were all stopped by amazing saves. Feels like we have no cutting edge at the moment. I don't know why our forwards struggle so much to finish
It's not for the lack of skill. Something has to change in their mentality, confidence, coaching etc that provides them with the clinical finishing other top forwards have. Top 4 looks very very difficult right now!

Our strikers aren't good enough at the moment it's as simple as that.

I suggest patience. We are currently playing our best football since Fergie. I can't pinpoint just what the feck is happening right now, but I do not think we should change either the personnel or management.

Drop Ibra despite generally playing really well, scoring 3 in his last 2 starts, and United only seeming to create chances when he's on the pitch in favor of a 19 year old who can't seem to control a ball properly these days? The amount this kid gets overrated just because he came through the youth academy is ridiculous, it really is. Sure he has potential, but currently, he is mostly just pace. Pace and little else.

No need to worry about our performances which is a nice change but the league table is a very worrying sight for us at the moment.

PSV are bottom half championship quality - I don't know why anyone thought a performance like the one in midweek would have any relevance on today.

Pogba does all he can, but Rashford and Lingard are so average, Darmian is awful going forward and Valencia still can't put a decent ball in. With that complete lack of width, what do you do?

Pogba worked hard, Zlatan was mostly invisible, Herrera was ok, Jones looks good.. Rooney looked decent off the bench Miki was pretty invisible.. Almost forgot Mata played..

Mourinho also needs to step up and start leading the team, and stop being a child. The referees are not against him/us, we're just playing average football. A couple of wrong decisions (not that i thought there was much wrong today) don't matter if you're playing better..

I think this is more detrimental than we could imagine.

We are basically zero threat in wide areas and when we get a corner we might as well keep the shape and pass it to their keeper since it seems more a threat to ourselves than it does our opponents

Lately I've been thinking the same thing...he certainly not a winger but maybe still too young to lead United up top...think we need to start putting Martial up top and see if he can get back into form. Whatever the case may be, Ibra can't play every match.

Again the opposition GK was MOTM

Just one of those days. We are just unlucky with goals otherwise we playing well

Mate when your finishing is piss poor, every goalie will look world class.

Let's win the E.L.
Please tell me Sevilla can't drop down there.

Haha, sorry to disappoint you lady, but Sevilla is going down that road :D

So its his fault that our players keeps shiting their pants when they are in a good position to score?? Zlatan, Rashford and Lingard aren't good enough to start for team like United..

Who picked Lingard who made that idiotic foul from which they scored? Who made Zlatan untouchable even tho he's poor and it was his man that scored against us. Who picked Rashford to play LW?

It was damn well Mourinho's fault, he's the one picking the team!

You having problems with your fonts dear?

Goddamn i hate this phone :D

Martial is basically the only other person that can handle playing up top properly, because he has the physical ability to go along with the technical ability. Rashford works hard and is quick... but that's about it these days. Martial needs to work harder though. Until then, Ibra will play every game and I have no problem with that because he offers a lot for us.

Ibrahimovic isn't playing well, he missed two chances that top class strikers would have buried today, and two chances that if Rashford would have missed I'd guess you'd have gone ballistic over.

My point was that you can't use the logic of "we spent x amount on players in the summer and should therefore expect a y return in terms of league position". That's obviously not how it works as we saw last year with Leicester. Its all about squad solidarity and cohesion; getting the players to play with a certain compounding confidence that builds over time. We are slowly building that and the results will follow.

I'm not using that logic at all and that's not my point though. I'm saying that there's no real excuse to have glaring weaknesses in squad depth at this club given how much we fecking spend on players on an annual basis. The fact that we're sat here now bemoaning our striker situation, bemoaning our midfield situation, bemoaning our wingers...that's an indictment on this manager and his predecessors.

Setting up chances and finishing is as much a part of football as everything else. Other top 4 teams don't have better attackers but they are scoring for fun.
And again... Why blame the coach for the players not finishing the chances they're creating?

If we weren't creating anything and it was a system issue, then sure, I can see blaming the coach. But it's not.

Would Mourinho get credit if the players were finishing?

Completely agree. It's the same shite that pundits kept saying about rooney in the last few years. Crazy how much people get protected because of their nationality. Rooney played woeful at 10 so he was "number 9". Performed woefully at 9 so he was a "number 10". Rashford lacks the physical attributes and overall play to be the lead striker currently. When he made his rise last year people forget he mostly played out wide

I thought the first half was decent but the second was poor.

Darmian had a poor season last term at right back so to ask him to do a job on the other side is strange. He's shaky defensively and offers nothing going forward. I don't get Lingard either - he's just not that good at anything.

Everyone misses chances. Shit happens. Ibra provides us with a lot because of his overall game, and we create so many more chances as a result. Having more and better chances will more often than not result in more goals.

Our finishing needs to be better. I don't really get people having a go at Lingard he played better than Rashford ( and its not his fault he is not a winger)today he was unlucky not to score. I would imagine the players are very frustrated because they are playing teams off the park just not getting over the line. unfortunately we are closer on points to the Relegation zone than to the top of the league. Chin up it will all come together. And it's certainly more entertaining this year

Lingard can be frustrating, he will miss the easy tap ins but score a screamer. He has to get some composure in front of goal.

Oh so frustrating result. We played some good football at times but just can't put the ball in the net.
The feck is wrong with Fellaini? He got me fuming again; we're drawing at home and get a chance to counter in the last minute and what does he do. Stops his run and walks.
