What's hilarious about all this is he isn't all that. They'd be much better off taking the money and sorting their defence and getting some depth. They're going to have a shite season.

Should sell him, it would be stupid to refuse the money. Barca have cancelled the J.M. Seri transfer, Liverpool should buy him and sell coutinho to Barca. They wont be regressing on Quality while getting more than double the money. Can buy a decent Centre back for the money and maybe even a left back.

Yes, I think they will come to regret it a lot if they don't take the offer and Barca spends that money on someone else.

Nah, there's no point in getting all that money with so little time left where they will have to end up overpaying if they want something done. Just look at Barcelona getting all that money from Neymar and they're very desperate willing to overpay and blow all that money in a couple of players.

It would actually be beneficial for Barcelona if they don't blow all that money in Coutinho, although short term they're gonna go mad if they can't reinforce the team after selling Neymar but still the sensible decision would be to hold on Coutinho for both teams. Although if Barcelona raises their offer yet again I think they should sell and prepare some signings for winter or next summer.

Liverpool don't need funds from a Coutinho sale to strengthen their defense. They'd be better off finding capable defenders anyway, AND blocking Coutinho from joining Barcelona, forcing him to honor his contract.

Coutinho will not get into the Brazil squad ahead of more qualified players if he throws away half his season sulking. He'll eventually have to stfu and get back to form on the pitch.

Myth! He is their second highest scorer and will be selected even if he has a shit season. He is very very important for tite and was Captain of brazil against Austrailia. He could easily give 75 % during the season and get injured for last third so as to go to the world cup fresh.
Platini did it whilst playing for juve as france wanted him fresh for the Euros, Tite also advised Brazillians Neymar and Alves to go to PSG so they could all find chemistry. Brazillians give their national team more importance than club and they will want a good showing after humiliation of last time at home.
He will be picked no matter what, its Liverpool's loss that he might affect attitude of other players. If they lose a couple ogf matches he can cause lot of dressing room unrest if as said by castles, he does not like Klopp.

Don't forget they wanted to pay the 84m in annual installments over five years. I loathe Liverpool, but even I don't blame them for ignoring Barca's deadline and final offer. It is laughable. But that's what they do once the player they want starts kicking up a stink, they assume the role of believing they have all the power to dictate the final terms. Disgusting club.

Read somewhere here, that's how Barca lose Asensio to Madrid. They like that installment scheme.

He is refusing to play. Will Brazil select a player who has not played a match?

Their key player is Neymar, and they have not done much in recent tournaments when he was MIA (world cup, Copa). If they still go with a barely fit Coutinho for the biggest international competition then they're really scraping the barrel.

No chance Brazik drop Coutinho, he's miles ahead of the players who'd feasibly replace him in the starting 11.

Be funny if he just refused to play all season.

He already a key remember on the NT. Tite won't care as long as he continues to show up for Brazil like he has been doing.

Coutinho could stop training and playing for the whole year and he would still get in our midfield. Very important for Brazil. He will play for us regardless if he plays for Liverpool or not.

If he doesn't play it will surely affect his fitness and game rhythm. So even if he's still picked for Brazil it will surely hinder his performances and it would be far from ideal to not have regular game time before a world cup and I really don't understand how can some of you come to the conclusion not playing all season wouldn't affect him. :wenger:

It would be less than ideal for sure. Brazil will obviously play some pre-tournament friendlies and that will help him regain some match sharpness. But it would be a big ask to step up to a World Cup having sat on the sidelines for an entire domestic football season and perform well. So we should be in no doubt, Brazil will want him playing this season whether it's for Barcelona or Liverpool.

I think Liverpool are attacking just fine without Coutihno. Their problem is in the defense. I would sell him for that ridiculous fee, it's not like all of the fans see they are doing everything to keep him. If they sold and made it plain that Coutihno left them no other choice, the fans would turn all their venom to Coutihno and not the club.

Liverpool has the money. It is just that their transfer targets are not coming. They have been trying to buy van Dijk but Southampton just refuses to sell.

That's the issue when you work with rich people. Money doesn't talk. Liverpool has the money to let Coutinho rot. Liverpool will wait out for a much higher offer since they know that Barcelona has the money from Neymar's sale. I think Liverpool will only bulge if the offer is above 160m pounds.

Brazil will select a player that has been nothing short of magnificent for them, he links their team perfectly and removes dependence on Neymar for the same.
He has more goals than firmino for brazil and has scored 6 in last 16 for brazil. He is also second highest scorer of the team.
Who said he will be barely fit? You do know you can play less football and be fit? International teams also play friendlies before world cups. Its better for him to play less than exert too much for liverpool and be burnt out for world cup specially with Klopp's style.

Tite on Coutinho-
"Yes, absolutely yes," he told Diario Sport when asked if he could see the logic in Barcelona wanting to bring him in.

"I don't want to be pretentious and give an opinion on Barcelona, but who wouldn't want a player like Coutinho? That magic, that capacity to invent and create something, that change of rhythm, the way he builds play -- it's crucial for any side.

8/
8 wins for tite with brazil. Its clearly how highly he rates him and there is no way he doesnt go to the world cup. If england took rooney/bekham after metatarsal, there would be no doubt in taking coutinho who will be well rested.

There's no one that can improve them, remember?

A forum thread on popular United fans’ site redcafe.net has attracted nearly 3,000 posts and more than 270,000 views.
What they don't understand - or do and aren't arsed - is that we have many opposition fans on here with a lot of replies here being by Liverpool fans (#2, #3, #6, #9, #15, #22, #23 in most replies to this thread are Liverpool fans), Barcelona fans (#12, #28) and Real Madrid fans (#10). I'm looking forward to their next article saying we're obsessed with Mbappe going to PSG.

To be fair we do come across as obsessed sometimes. It's fairly common to log on to this forum and see at least two threads at the top of the page related to Liverpool.

They're calling us obsessed by talking about this potential transfer, but yet they make an article on their paper about us talking about it. That's just sad tbh.
Definitely like someone said earlier "professional journalism at its best". Redcafe is massive! These journalists must spend hours on here for the next "big piece ".

To be fair most of them are just for mockery purposes.

It would be more accurate to say that we are "obsessed" with laughing at pool and the frequency of that mockery is directly related to the unfailing ability of said pool to give us something to laugh at.

Can't find any deficiencies in that fairly long observation on the related matter.

Express at this point just rely on the caf for football related news
