I don't mind it. Ronaldo Lima played for Inter and Barca in his pomp, and Real, and what's wrong with that?

Of course most players you'd rather keep, but I'm sure those three teams are happy they got to play him for the time they got.

But then you have to be pretty sure he'll be worth as much or more when Raiola is ready to take 20% of £60m again. He hasn't thrown a fit at Juve, so it seems he won't be th sort to kill his transfer fee by demanding a move. After all, the big fee is the whole point.
Its always a risk yeah. But the trend of transfer fees is consistently going up, and Pogba would just be entering his prime in 3 or 4 years.
As long as his form holds up and he doesn't encounter any serious injuries and his contract doesn't wind down, I'd be pretty confident his fee would increase in that time scale.

Am I the only one who would prefer Koke or Verratti over him? I would rather throw a lot of money on one of those 2 than on Pogba.

me too. Verratti is exceptional. The way he bossed Chelsea's midfield was impressive. Koke is good too, they are both very strong despite being small. The thing is, i cant see them joining us, Pogba on the other hand is a possibility.

Everyone saying he'll sign for City or Chelsea...he'll go wherever the most money is.

It may be well be city or Chelsea but money will be the deciding factor.

Spain bound, surely.
Would be so ridiculously stupid if he is.

One midfield has Kroos and Modric and the other has Busquets and Rakitic. Absolutely stacked in his position.

Not that that's ever stopped either of them before I guess. Spending £60 or £70m on Pogba when you have those types of players already is madness.

I'd be fine with Pogba going to Barcelona if that meant that we could get Koke. IMO, Koke is the comfortably better player right now, and he's only a year older than Pogba.

Pogba is miles better than koke.

Barca can't buy until January and I can't see Pogba leaving in a January window. Maybe he stays with Juve another year then goes to Barca in the summer of '16.

He won't come back to us. If he does join a Premier League team it'll be Chelsea or City.

Nothing annoys me more on Redcafe than random posters stating things as if they have some inside information. With all due respect you haven't got a f**king clue where he will end up so don't talk as if you do.

Why do you think that?

I don't recall hearing anything about him that would suggest that he was particularly money-driven. For example, if I remember correctly we offered him higher wages to sign a new contract compared to the wages offered to him by Juve.

Two words - Mino. Raiola.

And we didn't offer him higher wages than Juve.

As I've said before in this thread, I think that the Raiola thing gets a bit exaggerated. Most agents are pains in the ass for clubs to deal with, especially these so-called "super-agents" such as Raiola but I don't Think that they veto their clients' wishes. If Pogba wanted to come here Raiola would try to facilitate it, whilst at the same time trying to get as good a deal as possible for himself and his client.

No need to get upset about it. If you read my post afterwards you will know I have no inside information, I'm just a normal poster like you and everyone else on here who just has an internet connection purely guessing what I think could happen as a lot of other posters do. If you don't like posters views or predictions then maybe forums aren't the right place for you.

I don't understand why Pogba is a possibility.

why not? If we pay 60m, we are in contention. Verratti or Koke wont move. Pogba will, if he comes to us is another question, but he will leave Juve this year or next year. The other 2, i cant see it.

Pogba is miles better than koke.

That's nonsense. Koke has reached higher heights and played at a more consistent level . Less YouTube highlights but a more rounded and dependable player right now. Pogba probably has the potential to reach a level above Koke but I wouldn't be surprised to see Koke have a better career sticking at a very solid 7/10 or above.

I know i'll get death threats for this but, is he really that good?

I don't really watch juventus that much, only a game every now and then when i have the time, same with france, in the few times i've seen him this season he was decent to good, nothing spectacular. Pretty much everyone from fans to journalists think that he's the bee's knees, so could someone offer more details about why he's an earth shattering talent, because i can't help but feel that the hype machine is in overdrive on this one.

I feel that Koke and Pogba are at very similar levels actually. Silly for people to say one is "miles better" than the other. Yes - Koke has proven a bit more at present, in Europe and has done it for a bit longer - but one thing that really impressed me about Pogba has been his consistency. He's a classic 7/10 guy every week - but has great ability beyond that. I haven't seen him have too many bad games - just like Koke. I'd take either one of them and would love to see us open the chequebook to make it happen - just to show a real desire to be Premier League and Champions League contenders again.

Really? I wouldn't call Pogba that at all. I've seen quite a few poor performances from him, he's had quite a few this season alone.

I think thats a very fair assessment. Pogba has a better highlight reel and probably has a higher ceiling as well but at the moment Koke is a better player and has been doing it longer at a high level. Pogba also has pace and can dribble but Koke is superior in most other areas. Koke also seems to be more involved in the game. Overall they are pretty much at the same level talent wise id say but i think Pogba has a higher potential. He's pretty much like a young Yaya Toure isn't he.

Barca looking at buying players and loaning them back to clubs. Think they are not banned from doing deals but banned from registering new players if the difference makes sense. They tried to do it with Reus but he didn't want to leave and be loaned back to Dortmund.

I think it would be fair to say that Koke is much more in the mould of an LvG midfielder, than Pogba.

Hard to say really. I don't even know what traits LVG prefers most. He does have a better passing range though. I think he would put Koke on top of the umbrella or as a deep lying playmaker. I could see him giving Pogba a slightly more attacking role or a box to box mid.

I knew all along you had no inside information. It's annoying when people say something isn't going to happen when they have no way of knowing whether that will be the case or not. I have no problem with people saying that they "think" something will happen. You basically said it definitely wouldn't happen which is different.

Miles better? On what planet?

Koke is just a ball player. Pogba has everything! It would be like comparing Zidane to Scholes at the highest of levels. And that's giving both players the greatest complement.

Pogba absolutely ran the show against Spain when Koke played. Actually, I had to check if he did play.

People may say this doesn't prove anything, and it doesn't, but Pogba, more often than not, stands out because of the kind of stuff he does. Fantastic player.

Yes we did.

No we didn't.

He talks here about "not getting the contract he asked for".

His first contract at Juve was 1m per year which was what he asked Utd for - SAF didn't want to break structure in place for youth coming through the ranks. His main problem was not getting enough time in first team although those of you who remember watching him in reserves that season will know he didn't pull up any trees and wasn't exactly breaking the door down.

In terms of playing time.

Yup nothing to do with pay in that article. Get over it. Move on.

Pogba can dribble and has great pace. That's something Koke will never have. However in order for us to concede that Pogba is miles better than Koke he will have to perform atleast thrice as well as he's been doing because atm he's hardly better than Koke, if at all. In Koke's defense he has a better passing range. Imo Koke will continue to be one of the best midfielders in Europe but Pogba is a future Ballond Dor contender.

Which game was it? Their most recent head to head was the draw between Atletico and Juventus where Koke hit the post and was far more involved than Pogba, who had a good game himself. In the first game Atletico beat Juventus 1-0. Juventus dominated possession, Vidal was the best player for Juventus that day. For Atletico Koke had more touches of the ball than anyone and also made more tackles than anyone on the pitch.

France vs Spain.

France vs Spain.
The one where Pogba got sent off for a second yellow? Didn't watch the game(don't follow international football much apart from tournaments) but im pretty sure Koke didn't play. Not entirely sure actually..

Edit: just checked and he did play. It was just a friendly though.

Take it you didn't watch the Atleti vs Juve matches then?

He had his chance to show all right qualities to be United player,he blew it.

Hes the most complete midfielder in world football atm, has it all. Can pass, shoot, tackle, dribble all to a very high level. In truth he's a monster that's rarely seen in football, like a freakish combination of Viera and Zidane.
