Full Ole quote: Case Closed if you're sane

“Here we go again. FA Cup third round and you're talking about Paul again.

“Paul came back after a long spell out, two games, had a reaction, couldn't go to Burnley, felt his ankle was sore, we did a scan.

“And it's not the same injury, it's a different injury.

“Of course, when you get that scan, we speak to him, you consult your own medical people as well like I did, when I did my operation.

“You want the best second opinion and the advice was to have it done. It's not a major one and probably, as I said, three or four weeks.

“When I said 'his people' [the other day], as in when you consult your surgeon and the ones you trust, that's maybe my bad English.

“You have people you trust and speak to. As I said, when I did my injuries, loads of knee operations, I had my people in Norway and Sweden I spoke to and Paul has people he trusts, and that's more important.

“So that's more or less it. And the FA Cup is the next talking subject, all right? That's as clear as it can be at this point.”

I'm sure he said it was same injury the other day. Now it's a new one. Sorry Ole......not buying it mate.

There is clearly something afoot because that fat greedy Italian agent of his won't shut up in the press again. Obviously Ole can't come out and say he wants to leave as that will cost us value on his transfer. He's leaving us and good riddance. Too much trouble and there are other options out there who don't go hiding every other game.

Did he not say he aggravated it before?

What he said first was there was a reaction after the Watford and Newcastle games, it was probably assumed it was from the original injury. Now what he has said is an actual scan has been done, one that has identified it as being a new injury. Upon consultation with his own medical team for this new injury, the advice that he got from them is he needs a surgery to fix it. Ole gave example of himself how all footballers use their own medical staff that they trust for second opinion. But, sure enough some will point out it is only Pogba that is such a prick that he is the only footballer they've ever seen in their lives actually have their audacity to do that.

Can you imagine how screwed up in the head you have to be to actually believe that 1) A highly regarded surgeon would perform surgery when one isn't required just to perpetuate a lie of him being "injured" 2) That a professional footballer would allow for himself to have his foot cut into just by some quack who is just in it for the money so he can force a transfer.

I personally think he's trying to force a move this month, and this 'injury' is just a cover story to save face on all sides: Pogba because he refuses to play, and the club so they don't have to admit they have lost complete control of their player.

I suspect this 'injury' will miraculously clear up a few days after the winter transfer window shuts, whether he's in Manchester, Madrid or Turin.

I feel the same.

I have watched that 45 mins back again and not once did he look in pain, run awkwardly or even grab for his ankle. It's absolute BS. He wants out and thought he'd be sold in January and clearly the club have said no. Why else would that fat greedy italian agent have chipped in when not asked?

Oh come on. Majority of the footballers who are on those wages have their own team, from medical, fitness. We had DDG who had his own GK coach. To think that Pogba is a prick for having his own consultant is naive.

Seriously with the number of scans players have these days, you think one consultant would say a operation and the other would say no its nothing? Paul probably wants to be fit for the Euros, he rather get the operation done now than one hanging over his head.

No one would want to carry out an operation if they didn't have to. There are other ways to force a transfer which do no involve pain.

Pogba wants to leave, he should leave the way the fans have treated him, the fake promises from Ed on a rebuild that never happened.

Actually you would. In the case of Neymar, PSG doctors had an opinion, Brazil doctor had a different opinion and when asked the professor Rolland said that both side could have a point and that neither opinions were foolproof.

Yes, but no one will recommend an operation if you actually don't need one. It is clear Pogba needs one.

There is no point him acting up as if he is injured because we all know he wants to leave, the club knows it, Ole knows it and he probably thinks I rather get fully fit in time for Euros and a new club in the summer.

the amount of abuse he takes on here will continue even if he played well.

Yes, that is why I am saying it's insane when people come with the conspiracy theory that he is faking this need for surgery and that a surgeon whose reputation would be on the line for carrying out a surgery that isn't actually needed to perpetuate this grand scheme just to engineer a transfer.

Not necessarily. While there may be other options, surgery may be advised due to other parameters like the chances of re-injuring yourself when you choose other alternatives. Need is a relative notion here.

Poor Pogba.. :(

No, the full circus that comes with him including his “injury”

Do you understand what liability means? Like, in English? The odd comment from his agent does not make him a liability, given how much the football team needs him on the pitch.

And this moronic attempt to imply that you have some form of inside scoop into the details of his medical situation is tiresome. What the feck do you want to see? He’s undergone surgery, yet it’s all for show? Feck off.

Yes a liability is someone that cost best part of £100m up front and £15m per year then spends 3 months globe trotting. Think that’s the definition in English dictionary actually.

He was promised a Manchester United rebuild, no wonder he wants to leave.

Who can blame him? it is the same with people at work, if your bosses promise you something and that doesn't happen, you are likely to find alternatives.

Why shouldn't Pogba. If he leaves and does well elsewhere it is solely down to Manutd and the board.

Is he bigger than the club that he was promised a rebuild? I mean in the eyes of some he certainly is bigger.
I don't know in what line of work you are that boss promised you something.

It has nothing to do with being bigger than a club. If you try to bring a player to your club, you will sell him a project.

It happens all the time, if a company wants an individual they would pitch a business plan. If you are changing jobs you surely look into the 5 year plan or growth and etc.

Pogba was pitched a United rebuild and him to be at the heart of. Little did he know they will be making the same pitch every 2 years and Pogba is talented enough to take on another challenge.

What happened to all these players he was going to help us sign? Griezman I believe was in the bank cause his great mate was here

It's a poor comparison.
Promise is one thing, business plan another.

All good but as I said some are acting as if they care more about him and his career than the club. United needs a rebuild in general, not cause Pogba was apparently promised one. Hopefully we'll see a rebuild without him cause all this fuss around him isn't worth it imo.

To the contrary it is the same thing.

Ed woodward is pitching a football plan to Pogba saying he wants him to lead the revuild and bring United back to the top and competing for titles.

Ed has failed to deliver on that and Pogba is not happy?

How hard is that to understand?

Don't play that game and don't try to move the goalpost, you know exactly what he meant. You tried to turn it into a Pogba bashing exercise by pretending that it was something special.

It's not.
Also did he have and responsibility or he just had to wait for the rebuild and now he's not happy. The whole club doesn't revolve around him and his wishes or it shouldn't.

Pogba bashing exercise..
Come of it please.

He started of well, he is our most creative player but then fell out with Jose. Jose was sacked and a new manager in. Then our target has gone from being title contenders to happy with a 2 year rebuild.

Pogba is in his prime now and does not want to be waiting around for a rebuild, he would rather take the easy option and go to Madrid.

Clearly he wanted more high quality players to be signed at United and it is clear he has not got it in him to take this challenge of bringing Manutd back to the top.

Obviously there are two sides to a story, one is the club probably promised him something they havent delivered and he hasnt got the desire to help the club because he is not capable of it.

Why? You tried to paint a picture where being sold a particular project means being bigger than a club, you are trying to build a negative narrative. And for what its worth I have no idea about what United told to Pogba in 2016.

It’s not that. Losing Pogba is only one player but it would be a lot more harmful to lose him than keep him. We have very little quality in our squad right now. It‘s a lot harder to attract quality when you don’t have many great players in the team as it is.

We’ve already lost out on signing many players because we either didn’t play attractive football or didn’t have a great coach. If we lose our best player it makes the whole ‘project’ less appealing to players we do want to sign. This has happened already. Mane didn’t want to sign for us as we played defensive football and neither did Sanchez when he was at Barca.

You may then say, what about Liverpool? They didn’t sign any stars but they’re now the best team in the world. While that may be true, Klopp is a top class coach. Whether you want to admit it or not you can’t compare Ole to Klopp. Players are much more likely to want to play for Klopp who has proven he can improve players a lot and win at the highest level. Maybe Ole can improve as a coach but that will take a few years of evidence to show he can win at the highest level.

Let’s say we do lose Pogba and fewer top class players wil want to join us (I’m not saying it will be SOLELY because he leaves by the way) we would then have to rely on great recruitment. We have not recruited well for years and our owners are spending less with every transfer window.

It’s not that people care more about Pogba than the club, it’s the worry that we may get even worse if he goes. Maybe Ole will improve as a coach, but we would still need to recruit better to win things. Given we seem to only want to sign 3 players a year now, it will take a lot longer

Hopefully he still has enough time to save his career.
