But it's difficult for a player in his position to shine without the rest of the team at least playing consistently. Looking forward to the first game.....I think?

True, although he's one of our exceptional players that can produce something out of nothing. He does have clever enough forward players (Rom, Sanchez) in front of him to pick up on his ideas that I really think he can be a driving force for us. I'm looking forward to the game now too!
 
Some journalists are hinting that Pogba will start tonight, big ask by Jose but Pogba is as fit as they come.

Hope the fans don't get on his back early if he doesn't look sharp.

Saying that though i'd rather a half fit Pogba instead of Mctominay lol.
 
Hope he has a great season. On form Pogba Alexis Lukaku could take us very close to City.

Yeah, I think people haven't really taken into account how good these players can be and potentially could be when assessing us this season. It's conceivable we get an extra level out of all three this season.

It's the first I'm seeing it. Really really nice to hear. He has the platform to become a club legend.
I was saying earlier it meant a lot that the kid came back to us, and during a rather low point for us. That he wasn't going to just up and leave. Obviously that opinion was derided as naive because misery rules this place.

Glad he has the armband. He needs to play with the same maturity & consistency as he did at the WC. Reckon this will be a big season for him & he’ll perform well.

As much as I like him and him being made captain, I am not sure how well he is going to perform with literally no preseason. Hope people are sensible in their expectations of him today. I can look forward to some rustiness from him today.
 
Let's tie him down with £2,2m\week like Sanchez is getting and he is ours for the rest of his career :drool:

Wouldn't be my first choice as captain generally but I do like the decision tonight. After all the pre-season negativity around Pogba, Martial , Mourinho, transfers and the club generally it's a positive statement to bring him straight back into the team and place that trust in him.
 
He's back with some silly hair again - stars shaved and dyed in to the back of his head.
