He was going on about how Pogba needs to do it for United and tonight we’ll see if the World Cup was anomaly and all that. I thought it was a bit weird because Pogba has been off for 3 weeks and no doubt in celebration mode so needs to be cut some slack.

He had very good game, even more impressive considering he started training only this week, probably trained for just 3-4 days.
He was absolutely brilliant for the first 15 minutes, before then having a poor next 20 or so. Got his act back together towards the end of the first half and carried it throughout the second.

How he just takes the ball, shields it, orientates himself and get out of tight situations again and again is quite a sight. It looks like he is taking the piss with the opponents sometimes.

Didn't feel like he was trying to prove he was the best player on the pitch, just that he knew he was.

Glad to see he did well in his first match, and I think he's the perfect choice for captain. You could still see the rust in some places but overall very good from him, especially considering the circumstances.
Absolutely superb performance. Fred is going to fit in perfectly with him, take a lot of the pressure off him positionally.

Agree with him. First game in , just a few days of warmup and he's already up and running like a beast. Very good match for him. Kept it simple and flowing, like continuation from the France team.
