OT EVACUATED | Device signed as having been recovered, could NOT be detected by sniffer dogs

This is so fecked up, a fecking bomb inside a football ground. Amazing that some cnuts are joking about it in the thread btw, would have definitely been acting the same way if someone from the family was at the game.

Has that been confirmed though?

I don't understand why it has to be abandoned. Why can't they just play later tonight if/when the situation is dealt with?

Sucks for the Bournemouth fans.

Obviously the main concern is the safety of the people there, but it'd be pretty annoying if we had to play this midweek with the cup in mind.
At the way the city game is going we'll probably be able to throw out the U21 team anyway.

Surely they would have evacuated everyone? There's still people in some of the stands!

I imagine the chaos caused by detonating a bomb in a football ground would do a lot more damage than a small explosion. Just a way of managing the traffic out of the stadium as calmly as possible, I think.

Huddersfield v Leeds was postponed last day last season and it was called as a 0-0 draw in the end. Can see the same thing happen here if it means nothing for the top 4?
Nah, there's still the Europa Places to sort out. If Southampton win, we'll be in 7th. Gain 1 point and we push one of them down to 7th.

What? That our matches are going to be called off on a regular basis?

What the feck are you on about?

Are you really having that much trouble reading between the lines or are you just being an ass hole?

Hopefully its just a question of being extra safe.

If someone has managed to sneak a bomb into OT, gonna have to seriously question going to the Euros..

I don't understand why even now there's people reporting from inside the stadium. Surely they'd want everyone out if there was a genuine safety threat? I'd want to get the feck out.

Depends if there was anything on it

Well, if we have to play midweek, at least we'll know whether we care about winning or not. If City win, just play a team of kids.

Probably precaution. If someone has tried to sneak something suspicious into the ground, they're going to need to check extensively to make sure there are no more such threats.

My mates wife and son were at their first ever game too

An expensive weekend from Ireland for that

But then I guess people have travelled far further

Whatever your reservations, they ain't going to go ahead with it

My dad flew my mom over for her 65th birthday present - first ever match at OT for both of them. Staying at Hotel Football and all.

Sigh.

Its been reported that the package is in the quadrant so people still in are as far away as can be. Probably safer there than outside if there is anything genuine.

If there is a threat then presumably there'd be a fear of follow up threats too?

If it ends up being a false alarm, could the game be played tonight?

Unfortunately not.
The main problem is the TV schedules.
Had the match been delayed for upto 1 hour, the TV broadcasters would've adjusted their schedules, but to replay it hours later...not going to happen.
Most likely it will be rescheduled for mid-week, which in turn will allow the TV broadcasters to properly insert the game into the schedule.

Where did i moan about the club ? Shambles on the pitch, > negative results... shambles off the pitch > events not working out for us. Get over it.
Yeah I'm sure that's exactly what you meant and you didn't just try to backtrack after all the negative responses.

Fair play to the security team. Match called off, no chances taken and everyone safe regardless of what transpires.

I have a feeling we might get used to scenes like this over the course of this summer. Hopefully not but nerves are going to be on edge.
