OT EVACUATED | Device signed as having been recovered, could NOT be detected by sniffer dogs

Can we just forfeit the match and give Bournemouth the three points? Playing it now would be the ultimate humiliation.

Alternatively, the pointless rearranged match would be the send off LVG deserves.

Wouldn't want to play it this week with cup final. Especially if Man City win.

Holy shit. Hopefully it's just a case of better safe than sorry, don't want to think about the ramifications if it's an actual bomb.

Sounds like I'll get an early night instead then. If it does turn out to be a legit threat, credit to the security

It's for the best. City winning anyway so not like our game matters.

Safety comes first.

Well done to the staff at OT, could have saved lives

Feel for the Bournemouth fans, but safety needs to take priority.

If City win can we just give Bournemouth the points and be done with the season!

They shall only get the points if it goes into the record books that we had more possession! // LVG

Honestly glad they abandoned the game. Would be ridiculous to go ahead if there is any doubt whatsoever about security. I wonder when it'll be rescheduled. I hope it won't be mid-week right before the FA Cup final.

Hope everything is alright. If City do win today, I guess it'll be a chance for Van Gaal to put out a young side against Bournemouth, meaning we can rest players for the cup final.

This is mental. Well done to those who found the package before anything happened.

yeah. Fantastic that all the systems and processes managed to detect it before it could cause any carnage.

Absolutely the right decision to take. And saves me from 90 mins of mindless boring football - will find something more interesting to do like mow the lawn!

What was the 'suspect package'? LVG's renewed contract?

On a serious note, always better to be safe than sorry. Very impressive organisation from the security staff.

fA should have really delayed the city game and then postponed there's...'but this is the FA after all

Surely tomorrow ? And it likely won't mean anything by then and we can play a youth team.

I suppose this is a good thing in the long run.

Football matches are soft targets for terrorists. But abandoning a game at the biggest club stadium in the country, on the last day of the season, for a vital match is proof that the authorities won't take risks because of outside pressures. Hopefully this will mean that would-be bombers won't bother with football again.

I knew I shouldn't have worn tight shorts to today's game...

Glad the evacuation took place, better to be safe than sorry.

Still not sure why the South Stand aren't allowed to leave ?!

No they shouldn't. City fans have travelled around the way down there. It's a shame it has to end the season this way, but we shouldn't disrupt more than one game.
