Mourinho: "Luke Shaw a long way behind" | Shaw: "I will fight to the last second"

I want the best players to play, and I don't really believe that this is all about bad attitude. Shaw must have seen what happened to Martial and Mkhi, and he's had the chance to learn from that, if thats what's been keeping him him out of the side for so long. For me it seems to be more about him not having the kind of mentality that Mourinho prefers. After seeing that he's back in the squad after having a meeting with Mourinho, it kind of confirms that suspicion.
We'll see over the next month and a half.
What we need at Utd are players who's working hard and have a good attitude.

Brilliant man management - the sooner this idiot f**ks of the better, total cretin same stuff that led to his demise at Chelsea that left him a f**king shell of a man .

We will probably sell Shaw to Spurs to a top manager who is overachieving this season and he will get the best out of him.

He will buy a Mendes cast of at left back.

If I was on the board I would tell the little twat to "make it work mate he cost us 28 million quid you think we are spunking another load on more shit recommended by your mate".

How this fella is Manchester United manager I will never know. He done my head in at Chelsea the constant moaning its like a F**king whine like an annoying kid

Constantly throwing players under the bus and young players more to the point -

How a player has not lamped him I will never know.

best days are years behind him getting rumbled good and proper, as Keane said the club is to big for him - if he is a Manchester United man got to be something wrong in the world.

The wheels are starting to come off -Bobby Charlton had it bang on a couple of years ago.

I can understand being annoyed about the public ranting of the younger players - personally I don't think he should have done that.

The rest of your post is why we should bring back newbie screening before being let loose

Awful post. newbie???

When we sold Shaw to you, there were murmurs supposedly from the physios that there was a concern over his body/weight. Maybe that is easy to dismiss as sour grapes, but there might be some truth in it (as well as £30m not hurting the bank). I remember watching him in the 2012/13 season and then when the 2013/14 season came around he was twice the size. A huge difference from when he was 17 to what he was when he was 18. Now some people's bodies grow unpredictably and a little uncontrollably, and I wonder whether Shaw might be one of them. Then again, he might just have a predilection for Nando's.

Don't be silly pal, Shaw has the professionalism of Ronaldo. Managers are just out to tarnish his image because they're picking on him.

Er, because mature adults don't resort to assaulting one another.

Also a car crash of a post.

Rumors that Shaw has spoke to Jose and has traveled with the squad for tonight's game. I'd still absolutely love to see Jose's comments spur him on to be as good as he can be, but he's still going to be rusty and need to get a few games in a row to settle in, and I feel at this point whatever he does he's never going to get that.

At the same time, if Jose is never going to give him chance then the comments we're unnecessary and won't really help anything, including our chances of selling him on if that's what it comes to.

Given the spaces between the lines and enjambments, is this a poem?

Why does it seem like Man Utd have more trouble with young players getting an "I've made it" attitude? Januzaj, Memphis, Shaw, and I've probably forgot one or two.

Does it come down to too much money being given too soon here, or is it something else?

Bit of everything I guess, at a club like SOTON you still know you have to work your ass off because you want a transfer to one of the biggest clubs. Here, you already are at one and your mentality can fall into the I made it' trap.

Probably the money and status that goes with being at United.

I once saw a documentary about Milan and it was explained that under Ancelotti, the locker room was successively controlled by a group made of Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso, Nesta, Cafu, Dida and others. You notice that those groups are made of players who are consummate professionals with very strong characters and they are all starters, these are the players who check the younger players and make them understand what being a Milan player means and how you have to act. At Juve under Conte it was the role of Chiellini, Buffon and Pirlo.

We didn't execute our transition properly, we brought young players without the appropriate club culture and without the appropriate leaders. In theory, we should bring two veterans, a CB and a CM who along Ibrahimovic would be given the keys of the locker room.

I don't think so. I think all Jose wants is for him to work harder off the pitch, his performances probably have very little to do with it because he did okay last time he played. If he did bust his bollocks and get his head down he'd get chances, even if he was poor. He did the same for Rashford and Martial despite them being poor this season.

I would like this post if I could.

Fergie is no longer here. People on here need to stop comparing everything to Fergie, those days are gone ffs. He's retired, move on with your lives.
I have. You were saying there's a one size fits all approach to players at the club and Fergie and Busby showed you that that's rubbish. They manned up players as well as coddled some. Sometimes it was age and others the personality. Ferguson was rough with Keane and soft with Ronaldo, up to a point.

No-one is claiming that all players are the same, but no manager worth their salt would allow a player not to put in the required effort in training. SAF might have been nicer with Shaw, but you can bet your life he wouldn't let him get away with half arseing training.

Players who aren't willing to put in the required effort and work for a spot in the team are at the wrong club. That laid-back mentality would fit right in at mid table teams that are happy to remain stagnant.

But as we've seen from the De Bruyne fiasco, Mourinho lies about a player's effort in training. Not to mention that Shaw has reportedly been doing extra training at home.

What with Shaw on the outs, Zlatan possibly leaving, Bastian gone...maybe Jose is getting his summer exits sorted well before the season's end.

But as we've seen from the De Bruyne fiasco, Mourinho lies about a player's effort in training. Not to mention that Shaw has reportedly been doing extra training at home.

Is there concrete proof he lied? Apart from KDB saying otherwise? He's hardly going to come out and say he was shite in training. Besides, even if it was, this isn't even the same scenario, Jose isn't the first manager to pull Shaw aside for this. A Southampton fan came in and said that he has looked unfit/fat for them at times. LVG has questioned him, made him train on his own until he was fit enough to train with the other players, so he hardly has good history when it comes to being a model professional. This has been discussed a thousand times and people are still of the opinion that this is some plot by Jose.

Reportedly been doing extra training? So we're using reports with no evidence behind them, instead of the opinion of multiple differing managers? Okay then. He isn't alienating our other youngsters, he's told them to pull their socks up this season too and they have. They're playing now even though they've been shite, Shaw would be no different.

If he didn't rate Shaw, he wouldn't be here. He could have sold him at the beginning of the season or during January.

All I mean is that it's hardly plausible he would not be putting in the effort in training. What's most likely is that there's issues with his preparation.

Also, I've seen that Chelsea coaches at the time disagreed with Mourinho about KDB as well. But I don't care enough to bother looking.

I don't think it's that surprising, not all players have the mentality or drive to make it. For every Ronaldo, there's a Quaresma. They had a meeting and discussed some things though, it'll be interesting to see if this has caused any sort of reaction.
