Mo Salah

Salah works his ass off when they are not is possession and he's clever with his CONSTANT movement when they are attacking.

He gives opposition defenders decisions to make.

None of our players do that.

A ridiculously talented footballer. Another Chelsea “reject” that apparently was a flop. Goes to show that sometimes players are fine tuned for certain tactics and styles of play. Fits perfectly with how Liverpool play.

Don't think it's fine tuning. Maybe he simply wasn't at the level he is playing now that he was 3-4 years ago.

Great player and you can be happy to have him.

He's been playing well for quite some time, since his late Basel days and at Roma. This form hasn't just come out of the blue.

He was talented previously, he wouldnt have ended up at Chelsea if he was shit.

But he never got a fair chance and lets be honest, he doesnt suit Jose that much. He got better at Roma and carried on over at Liverpool, with football perfectly matched to his qualities. But even if he wasnt playing for them, he would still be good. He can be inconsistent, also with his finishing, but his time at Chelsea clouded a lot of peoples opinions.

His movement is too much for defenders. Exactly what we need. If you mixed his movement with Martial's dribbling it'd be pretty special.

Pretty much sums up our poor transfer strategy.

Not really, bearing in mind Lingard cost nothing. If we had to replace Lingard with another squad player in todays market it would cost a small fortune. Salah has been an excellent signing no doubt about it, but for every Salah there's 3 or 4 Ryan Babel's etc...

If you can't see anything wrong with giving the likes of Lingard a long term 100k a week contract then there's no point taking this discussion further.

Funny, I bet these people heralding Salah as the incredible are the same folk that wanted us to sign Vardy because he had a good half a season or so!!
If you want to talk stats, Martial has a goal in the league every 89 minutes, imagine if Jose actually trusted him to play a full game every now and then!!
The fact is Salah is playing well and has slotted right in to an attacking team, the tactics suit his play currently, but he's never scored more than 20 goals in a season (so far).
Is he better than what we have? Nope, on current form yes, but he's no better than Martial/Rashford.

Yeah anyone who watched him in Serie A first with Fiorentina then Roma will not be particularly surprised at what he's doing this season. He was a great purchase that went pretty much under the radar in the frenzied transfer window this summer.

Football exists outside of the Premier League. He's comfortably better than both of them and has been for some time. Martial and Rashford have immense potential, they're not on Salah's level at the moment though.

You’ve completely missed the point of my post.

Lingard came through our youth ranks and as such has nothing to do with a transfer strategy.

I didn’t expect him to be this potent in the Premier League. He seems stronger than his appearance would suggest and his balance is something else. He’s always been a good player, but he’s been consistently doing the business this season.

Bargain buy of the summer really. If he keeps it up, arguably one of the best value transfers for some time.

He would be 07/08 Ronaldo and would be in the range og 200M right now

Behave yourself :lol::lol:

He’s comfortably on another level to both of them, been doing it for a few years now aswell.

I blame the overemphasis on our academy players that started with LvG. It went from us to promoting when they were ready to it being some noble crusade. Mainly so people could big up LvG himself.

Anyway on topic Salah really has been a hell of a buy but as others have said, some times signings go right and more often than we'd like not.

I'm fully aware that there's other leagues existing in the world, but being as Salah is currently playing in the Premiership I thought I'd go for a fellow premiership player for comparison.
Whilst good at Roma, and his stats prove that, he cannot hold a torch to Hazard, Dybala, Callejon, Bale and other similar players yet and how they change games.
And as for being good for some time, a decent season followed by 15 good games isn't exactly a lengthy spell of consistency!

Hazard -- KDB -- Salah would probably be absolute fav attacking midfield trio to have but no chance of getting any of them.

Chelsea actually started the 2013-14 season with Hazard and KDB already in their team and added Salah in winter. not giving them chances look pretty stupid now and they did the same with Cuadrado.

I agree as well, playing for Fiorentina and Roma greatly helped his development. His raw skill and pace just seems so easy on interject into any team and stretch defenses. For me he could start on any team in the world on current form.

True. Totally forgot about that. God I think if that had happened at our club I would never get over it.

Yeah definitely. His movement off the ball is just great and he makes all those right runs that I wish our players would make more often.

That's down to the differnce in our managers .

One wants to attack . One doesn't .

Imagine no Jose and a Hazard Morata Salah front three and De Bruyne supplying killer balls

Morata/Hazard/Salah/kdB With Kante behind them.

Way too short to be a Mourinho team, but would win the Champions League under Guardiola.

Football fans these days are so detached from their football team and reality. Thats modern / young people though for you . They get confused with reality telly bollocks and think it's actally real . A sweeping ( old school defensive ) generalisation by the way .

Imagine if Shankly and Fergie was our manager and Kenny and Dennis Law morphed into one an we had Zidane .

Please .

We should have gone for him in the summer. It was clear that we needed a RW and he was available and highly rated. But we chose to obsess about Perisic for some strange reason.

Also Chelsea have let too many good players go as people as have alluded. Salah, Lukaku, Matic and De Bruyne. Madness.

Imagine if United had all those players and had given them away and they were all storming the league. There would be so much outrage.. remember how the Pogba thread was so massive while he was at Juve and Fergie got a lot of stick and still does over it.

Times that by two.

And your Zidane or whatever it is doesn't even make sense or compare to the situation being described.

Well, you'll have to excuse me for my detachment from reality and my age.

Both KdB and Salah were Chelsea players not too long ago, sold because they were deemed not good enough, and the others three are current Chelsea players. How does that compare with a a bunch of retired players from different era morphing into one person?

Probably works harder than Lingard too.

Saw this on Facebook, really dumb comparison IMO. All this really says is that Lingard is on too much money, which every single person who knew what his salary was already knew. Comparing one of Liverpool's best players to one of benchwarmers.
