Mikel Arteta | Lego Pep watch

His signings also haven’t helped. 6 years at Arsenal and he’s only added Jesus, Haverz and Trossard if I’m not mistaken, all of whom are just fine. That’s not good enough if you want to win in the league. They cost a decent amount (especially Havertz) and more importantly, you’ve spent boatloads on other areas.
Jesus was brilliant up until his first knee injury.

Havertz has 31 G/A from 47 appearances as a CF. He cost pretty much the same as Solanke, Hojland and Richardlison and has performed significantly better than all of them. It was a very standard fee for a starting PL forward.

And Trossard was a second choice signing who cost £20m + add-ons has contributed 40 G/A as a rotation option.

My problem is not with who we’ve bought. It’s who we haven’t bought. As I’ve said, Isak would transform our fortunes. But right now, we’re short on fit professional footballers to play in our forward positions.

I completely understand that it’s difficult to identify level-raisers for a team that is 2nd in the PL. But right now, we just need players that are capable of maintaining our level with so many forwards out and that should be more than doable.

Martinelli out for a month. This season is an injury train wreck. Wonder how Arteta's lineup looks like for the next game.

Get real, Arteta overreacted like a mad man. That’s a completely valid question and disgraceful behavior from poundland pep

He is a twat when things don't go his way, no doubt about that. However, in a way I'm glad to see it. I hope he is hurting, hope it's giving him sleepless nights, hope it drives him and the club to do something about it this summer.

Because we're in March, what's the point in asking about the transfer window and the title when everyone know it was over weeks ago. Overreacting like a mad man

if he’s only able to answer easy questions about excusing the players due to injuries but can’t handle a very simple and reasonable one about the point gap, that’s really embarrassing lack of confidence and being able to confront difficulties. Maybe that’s why he can’t win shit

I don't know why they ask that question. Aside from annoying the manager.

Don’t think there was much wrong in asking the question. Arteta recently said ‘over my dead body’ when asked if he would concede the title race is all but over. It’s fair enough to keep asking him about it imo.

I mean, it's not like successful managers like Sir Alex, Wenger and Mourinho were good losers.

Not sure why he is annoyed? Arsenal have one hand on their Runners Up trophy, a few more wins and it will be staying at the Emirates for another season.

They actually won trophies.

Thats the point. It was being suggested that the way he handled that situation was the reason he couldn't win shit (even though he has won something). Yet there's plenty of times we seen the 3 names I mentioned coming across as bitter during interviews, and they won shit loads.

No, you're missing the point. No one will bat an eyelid at Arteta reacting that way to a question if he won trophies. But he's won jack shit - it absolutely makes sense that a journalist would ask difficult questions after 5 years of failure.

He wont give up on the title even if they were 6 points behind with two games to go and a -12 worse goal difference

I agree with Arteta here. The question did not merit an answer.

Plus Sky always, always rub it in when Liverpool are doing well and ask leading questions about 'just how good Liverpool are'. It's like when they asked Solskjaer battling relegation at Cardiff what he thought of them and he politely told them where to go.

We know Arsenal aren’t used to title races, but March is the exact time the title race is supposed to begin. By extension, it’s also the same time the January transfer window can be judged for a team with title challenging aspirations. Also, he said 1.5 weeks ago that “over his dead body” would Arsenal give up on the title race, so all the journalist is looking for is a timely update on his thoughts, which he’s entirely entitled to do.

Besides, whether he overreacted like a mad man here or not, he has in the past, so you can’t blame the OP for saying that. Even of the top of my head, I can think of when he petulantly mocked Lee Mason for simply saying that the opposition player got the ball in a tackle.

A striker would help certainly but I think there are some other issues in how you attack - its too predictable and not sufficiently fast. Defenses can organize.

This is the 3rd game Man Utd vs Arsenal game this season and in all 3 games, I felt your transition from MF to attack was too predictable and lacked cutting edge.

I think there are some systematic issues beyond a striker.

If Arteta is sacked and it's looking likely, and things don't work out with Amorim would you take him at United?

I think once we have won 3-4 CL and 8-9 PL titles, we can get him in for a season to take a break from winning trophies. In case, we are too fatigued from celebrating all the time. He guaranties no trophies.

Would have been a shame if a boring, negative manager like him was a title winner. Thankfully he's just an almost man.

for a team that plays for corners, he sure hates being backed into one.

Nonsense. Managers walking out of interviews in a huff is a talking point if the manager is a rookie or a serial winner. We see the reactions in here when Klopp got spikey during post match interviews after damaging results and he's won the lot.

Would be funny if he won the CL.

I think there’s a decent chance it might happen.
Don't they have to get past one of the Madrid teams and then most likely PSG/Liverpool?

Leicester winning the title would've been more believable at the start of that season.

That Sky interviewer does it to every manager. I remember that season when Liverpool kept losing at home he asked Klopp if the title had gone when they were miles behind, I genuinely thought Klopp was going to lamp him one.
