Hehe, nice one! That appointment would really take the cake.
Might as well take Campbell too.
They should take in all the available Campbell's possible and see who works best for their needs. They’d be better off with Alistair Campbell
Oh, I do hope they appoint Arteta. Will only waste another year of Arsenal revival and help us, next year
If they do appoint him, it will clearly be banking on "he's worked under Pep, must have learned a lot". But that is a very flawed logic - there's a huge difference between duties of an assistant manager and head coach, and you don't just become great by observing somebody else's talented management. Whatever he may or may not have learned from Pep, he is absolutely not ready to manage a massive club like Arsenal, especially during their major decline. Huge gamble.
I'd be a bit worried for he and Arsenal if reports Steve Round will be part of his backroom staff end up being true.
What? The same clueless guy who was Moyes’ assistant?
Interviews go much easier if the interviewers are already predisposed to want you onboard. So that is where "Pep factor" matters a lot. Other than that - 100s of coaches can put together a powerpoint and bullshit their way through an interview. It's not a bullet-proof science, FFS.Yeah I'm sure that is how the interview went.
"I worked with Pep"
"You've convinced us!"

1. You're not even in the room (wait.. are you?)
2. Going back to your original post, you seem to think Arteta just shadowed Pep at City. Contrary to Pep and players speaking on Arteta's role in training and coaching. Contrary to the endorsements he has received from 3 great coaches.
3. What is your rationale for saying he's absolutely not qualified to manage Arsenal? What, according to your standards, qualifies you to manage a club?
Every headcoach and manager started from somewhereHas Arteta worked as a head coach nevermind a manager before?

I am sure you attended all of these 8 interviews and in general have ton of experience with interviewing coaches, which is why you think you can "school" me with such authoritative tone? You be you.Yeah not really sure you've thought about this one. Arsenal interviewed 8 candidates according to Sanllehi and Arteta came out on top. Him previously working with Pep I imagine counts towards about 1% of their decision.

Correction: ‘I worked with the bald cnut’’
I think this could be a real masterstroke by Arsenal. He clearly has the feel for the game, was massively praised by both Wenger and Guardiola, two of the best managers of all time and clearly has an idea on how he wants to play.
He now has to be backed and supported by both fans and the board, because this squad doesn't have anyone that suits the style of play he would like to have. I know it's a cliche, but he really needs time and patience, and maybe he can succeed.
I read on reddit that he said he wants to play high-tempo attacking football, which I believe would be similar to the Pep's style.True that
Is he on record as preferring a certain type of style?
They can't really be expecting much from him now they fecked up the season by not acting swiftly enough. Getting fifth, more than 3min of good football per game and try to find a solution to our midfield. The defence is a disaster but could be fixed up with better protection.I'd love to know what the expectations are from the Arsenal board.

It won't matter. They'll penny pinch him and fire him same as Emery.
I am legit amazed, by the negativity here. I really see him being huge success to Arsenal and staying there for a while.
