Michael Oliver

Did we get some sort of apology issued for the Bruno decision?
The decision was overturned so it’s probably the best close to an apology as you would get. I recall other clubs getting an apology when a wrong decision had been given after they had kicked off, can’t remember specifically which one it was but it was last season.

So we didn’t get an actual apology in public then.

I would love to hear the audio on this one. If it isn’t released, then I think it’s safe to assume it’s quite damning.

Id say it's awful. Or more likely they just keep talking about 'contact' while ignoring everything else.

They guy is genuinely poison for the game. Was made some sort of boy genius far too early and prematurely and his ego is as big as any player. I fully believe that he thinks fans are watching him as much as players and he has absolutely no composure. I believe he's a corrupted official but if he isn't then it's even worse as his awful standards are down to his own ego.

I hope he gets an absolutely hounding next time he weasels onto old Trafford

Highlight his decision to send ref to the screens for both this and City pen last year. Both of them are utterly bizarre. Complete 1 off, When 1 offs happen twice you know there’s something wrong.

I guess it brings his performances when we’re involved under scrutiny, but does he ref barcode matches?

No and he can't ref Sunderland matches either as far as I know. It's bizzare he can't ref games involving Newcastle but can ref games were there could be positional rivals playing

He is lucky the manager change as defelcted the news.

Really hope it is addressed but it won't be. PGMOL is a mates club.
Really hope Amorim (if he comes) is the type to kick off about this stuff... ETH was a damp squib

Its amazing that the famous deeney moment was made possible by this weasel giving a ridiculous penalty in the 96th minute, 90 seconds after stoppage time ended. At every level the guy is a jobsworth, attention seeker, ego maniac

The consensus is overwhelming that it was a horrendous decision. It was nowhere near being a foul, let alone being a “clear and convincing error” that the decision of the referee in real time was in fact an error. Is there no mechanism to at least force league officials to acknowledge the final decision was the actual error?

Every club in the league should be signing a letter saying we refuse to play against City in a game in which he is involved as an official. Liverpool and Arsenal as title rivals, and ourselves as local rivals, should be refusing to play in any game involving him full stop.

Make the league come out and address the UAE employment and the ever growing list of terrible and one sided decisions. It's all well and good scoffing at conspiracy theorists calling refs corrupt when a decision goes against them, but when we have actual, obvious corruption presented without doubt and we ignore it, it makes all the other stuff look worse.

There's a lot of heat on him on social media (rightly so), and now with Keys getting involved slightly more. You just know he's going to give City a controversial red or Bournemouth a controversial penalty to take the heat off his corruption claims. Albeit adding to his clear incompetency. Written in the stars.

Sounds good to me. Should go for both just to make sure.

I dont like that a terrible decision of a VAR played a part in ETH his sacking. I dont want Michael Oliver to have that kind of power.

He shouldn't be allowed to referee in the Premier League. If he wasn't such an arrogant twat, he'd have claimed to support Gateshead or something.

Given there's already a UEFA-wide tiering of managers to sort out who can officiate CL games, I'm amazed there isn't simply a thing in place where the top leagues are officiated by top refs from other countries.

I've wondered for a long time why we don't have any foreign refs in the Premier League. Surely there are a lot out there who'd love to come.

We should have the unedited audio for all decisions after the game. The fact they selectively pick and choose certain ones to release shows they have shit to hide.

What would happen if we refused to play a game with him on the team of officials?

Just say no - fugg off hes bent.

Did anyone post the photo of Oliver wearing a Newcastle gear in a pub with his Newcastle friends?

Don't think he'd blatantly go against his Abu Dhabi overlords like that, somehow.
