Michael Oliver

That was at the very least a yellow card offence.

All these hours later and I'm still fecking raging at the VAR decision against us.
Agreed; I thought it was worse than the red Beckham picked up for his flick on Simeone back in the day. Must be the only part of the game where players can get away with more than they used to!

I agree with you, I'm just saying that Webb will disregard it as being an "oops we got it wrong, it's human that happens" and considering the level of challenge he gets from the media, that's as far as it will go. He should be challenged at a granular level on it, as should Oliver's background with reffing Utd games, but it simply won't be, because the media have no interest (or the level) to do so.
It's not that they have no interest, it's that they have a vested interest not to. Who suffers if there is a big story/scandal about a corrupt or incompetent ref? The league abd by extension it's broadcasters and sponsors. So why would they ever run with the narrative that city are owned by a country, have clearly broken rules and cheated when they can just focus on pep and the football. It's the same situation with the refs. They will constantly peddle the bs about no bias and consistent standards but literally do the opposite thing in back to back games and still try to justify it.

Oh this cnut will be seething today for sure.

Annoyingly the spotlight will be on the EtH sacking today, overshadowing his corrupt display yesterday.

He doesn't know just yet, but yesterday Michael Oliver kickstarted Manchester United's next PL and CL winning era

Di Maria planted his arm on Michael Olivers back, best case you call it a pat, then he tugged his shirt. He was begging to be booked and his wish was granted. Which is fine. It was hardly an innocent attempt from Di Maria to get his attention. Less fine that he just completely ignored it when an aggressive Joe Hart walked right up to him and planted his head inches close to his face in an attempt to intimidate him, while berating him about a situation.

In terms of his red card stats, they don't mean anything without actually looking into the situations he's been involved in, but it's not like there aren't quite a few recent ones where he's been given quite a few easy decisions in terms of red cards (Kovacic, didn't want to ruin the game). But he's more than happy to send off other players in big matches as soon as he gets a chance. Trossard, who was a first half sending off for "kicking the ball away" and double yellow Dalot. From my perspective, i’d say he’s wildly inconsistent with how he applies the rules.

At the end of the day, there’s no consequences for the likes of Oliver.

Its crazy that after his controversial performance last Sunday the PGMOL have responded by making him the ref for his beloved Man City on Saturday

Well, his Abu Dhabi employers are paying him to be there, so he'd better turn up for work.

Has PGMOL or Webb explained why the Referee on Sunday had to watch a replay 20 times in a row to spot his own clear and obvious error?

He must have a collection of Howard Webb nudes at this point

He is lucky the manager change as defelcted the news.

Really hope it is addressed but it won't be. PGMOL is a mates club.

Looking forward to the next “Mic’d up” or whatever it’s called with Howard Webb.

He’ll surely have to concede that Oliver’s decision was an error and given that Ten Hag was sacked the day after it will surely attract some media heat on this.

The club don’t seem to have kicked up a fuss like others did when decisions when against them. Helps the refs brush these things under the carpet.
Yeah if I was Ten Hag I would have gone into an x rated expletive laden rant to be honest, it's part of why he's gone. Sometimes you have to rock the boat, doesn't really make a difference when the ships already sunk into the abyss. Ultimately he will never have the chance to do so again.

It is part of what cost him his job in my opinion. No way would Klopp or Pep or Arteta have accepted that without going down swinging.

Even a drooling fool is right now and again. I'm of course referring to Keys, not Oliver. Insane that that massive mistake goes completely unadressed.

Can’t imagine that many other referees would get away with something like that without any sort of punishment.

Yeah the club needs to come out with a statement asking for that cnut Oliver to never ref a United game again and list all his mistakes against us and for City as evidence.

Doesn’t have to be embarrassing as that. Just needs to make sure the decision is highlighted, the recording of the discussion asked for and a complaint issued to higher levels. There’s a way to do it which makes an issue like you would do with anything else.

You don’t think we’ve done that behind closed doors?

Clubs would normally issue some form of statement if they have. We don’t seem to have done anything as far as we know. Otherwise surely there would have been apology from PGMOL.

I mean, it’s a massive joke of a decision to the point where pretty much everyone has spoken out against it. Considering the fact that the mistake was against us, rather than for us, it’s rather shocking to see the amount of people speaking about it. It would be a huge shock if we haven’t been in direct contact with Webb about it, both to request the audio and to let our feelings be known about the costly refereeing mistakes.

I have little doubt that we’ve been in contact with them. There’s no requirement to release any form of statement, and i honestly fail to see what upside there is to releasing one.

Well it will be only be known if there is some sort of apology issued like the Bruno decision. Sometimes other clubs make a bigger deal of it to mentally make more of an impact. To play the game so to speak and increase pressure on officials. Let’s hope we have raised it behind the scenes. If someone like SAF here, he would have royally kicked off.

Mr Hairy Hands does actually make a good point about how Oliver fecked over a colleague. Forcing him to second guess such a marginal call on live television is a shitty thing to do. The opposite of the way referees are supposed to have each other’s backs.

It's easy to tweet that from St Calbbert's, but nobody on Sky or anywhere else was willing to make that point.

It makes sense, Oliver was essentially abusing his position of assumed power and put his colleague in a terrible situation.

Did we get some sort of apology issued for the Bruno decision?

I would love to hear the audio on this one. If it isn’t released, then I think it’s safe to assume it’s quite damning.
