Michael Oliver

THe suggestion he can get away with something dodgy cos it's not live in the UK is daft cos it'll be analysed to death anyway and be commented on by Neville and many others besides.
It will certainly be less scrutinised than if it were broadcasted live on Sky. At what point do you think Neville will comment on it? During the Arsenal vs Liverpool game?

122 pages of us ranting ablout Oliver.
There must be something wrong with this guy.

Anyone got the photo of Oliver drinking in the pub and wearing his Newcastle gear ?

Can someone recap all the shut we've had to deal with from him over the last few years? I can remember the Di Maria a few years back, the rodri incident last year and the dalot red. What else? Cause im certain there's a, catalogue at this point.

Neville is a paid media lackey, when did he last call out anything? Media make bank off any United controversies.

Can the club make a statement asking pgmol to not allow this clown to referee us again? Other clubs always do but our club just accepts everything and never complains

Didnt Chelsea have something like that? A certain referee wasnt allowed to do their matches? Or am i just making this up?

Doesn't he still do that Monday round up thing with Carragher? Not had Sky in three years.

Top of head:

There was the Herrera red card v chelsea for collective team fouling,
a soft pen for sheffield united last season,
the non penalty for Romero's incredible save from a garnacho shot at white hart lane

But where things really get going is when you look for any dubious call that went for us. Then look at all that goes citys way. Things should just balance out but he consistently leans one way.

I remember first noticing oliver. maybe it was under moyes and we beat hull 3-2 away and I remember rooney almost losing his mind at Oliver. This sounds made up but I vividly remember thinking something isnt right with this guy. It just was not a normal game, there wasnt a normal flow to it and its one of the few times i felt in a game we won, that the referee was trying to dictate it. Since then, he's just been worse and worse and worse.

When he first came on the scene he was a clown and recognised as such. Somewhere along the way he remained a clown, but managed to end up being classified as “one of the best”

123 pages and this is my first comment in here. I'm normally far more concerned with the rules and processes than the individuals involved. Everyone can make mistakes or have a bad day.

But how many times is this guy going to screw us over before he gets sacked? For a very long time Oliver has had a clear bias against us. Whether it's corruption due to his extra income stream, or simply a hatred of United, there is no way someone so clearly unable to keep his agenda out of his decision making should be an official in such an important role in the PL.

Most of them are. their job is literally to heighten interest and promote the PL brand. why would they risk their soft paycheque when a million useful idiots could take their place.

The first time I really clocked that he was a cheat was when he sent Di Maria off in an FA Cup tie against Arsenal during the Moyes season. A yellow card for being fouled, swiftly followed by a yellow card for touching his arm. But, no action when Joe Hart stuck his nut in his face.

You mean when Di Maria grabbed him? That one I didn’t feel hard done by, it was idiocy by Di Maria.

which is arguably understandable, until you see him doing nothing when joe hart presses his head into him in what was i believe the same season.

He was in his face, but I can understand him not doing something about that. Di Maria’s aggressive tug is a bit clearer to me.

That said, Oliver’s a twat who’ll take any excuse to do us over, that much is clear.

I don't see how this argument proves his competence to be honest.
Even if I can't prove his competence, I still don't think he made a honest mistake here, he intentionally called the ref back for something insignificant and forced the Ref's hand to give the pen, the ref saw the incident clearly and thought nothing of it, Oliver calling him back meant he found the excuse to give something to WH against us, if De Ligt actually fouled Ings and Coote missed it, and Oliver let it go then you could say it an incompetence, not this one though.

He proper hates you lot dosen't he?

Was never a penalty in a million years.

Every time he's a referee in one of our games there's some ridiculous decision against us.

And lets be real here: For a suspension like Bruno's to be overturned when there's VAR available should never in a million years be happening and it's not been talked about enough. This last two-three years has been an absolute joke, added to various other -insane- decisions (the double yellow card on Dalot for dissent after giving the WRONG decision for a throw in in which Dalot was in the right, Casemiro being sent off on VAR when there were maybe 3-4 players doing as bad or worse), it's been travesty after travesty. If I was Ten Hag I would suck up a 50k fine just to say exactly what I think.

He'll keep doing this shit until he's properly called out for it. And Ten Hag clearly doesn't have the balls to do it.

I for one am absolutely shocked that someone being paid from the same group of people who own city would give decisions in favour of city and against United.

Has anyone got a list of decisions that he’s incorrectly given against us in the last 3 seasons? Also our win percentage with him refereeing?

Off the top of my head:

Dalot double yellow card against Liverpool
The Hojlund foul on Rodri against City
Todays game

2 of these are VAR decisions that should never be made. He’s having influence without being on the pitch.

He was in the VAR room last week for this.

But doesn't call the referee to the monitor, but does today for a coming together on a bouncing ball.

He's probably in his hotel room right now wearing nothing but his signed Keegan Newcastle top tugging himself senseless thinking to himself "got em again"
