Memphis Depay | Lyon player

People seem to forget that he is just bloody 22! Football is not exactly teeming with 22 year olds. If we write off players before they get to 23 then what is the point of development?

it's a ruthless game. He's been underwhelming at best, and looks to have no short to mid term route into the team.

Needs shipping fast.

Started to really dislike him you can smell his ego from here. The guy thinks he's Ronaldo when really he'd do well to break into Evertons first 11. I'll never trust a player from Holland again after Memphis, all the signs showed he would be at least decent but feck me he's useless, I'd take Nani on a bad day over this turd.

I know most people end their fascination with shirt numbers past their teens, but I really love the history of the United #7. And i want it free again and then put on a World Class talent

I don't dispute that football has become ruthless now but if we really need to be really that ruthless, a good number of our squad should not be in the squad especially players on a decline, and do not bring anything to the table presently and will not get better either.

was a minority. Most I would say thought we got the better talent and pool were paying over the odds for someone less talented

It happens. Iirc they also laughed at us for getting Shaw for double of what they paid Moreno.

Most didn't knew any of them, so most were wrong. Firmino was excellent with Hoffenheim and has been for more than one season.

Classic case of all talk and no walk. His 'DreamChaser' shite is ironic as well. I supported him up until this season and kept believing he would shine after adapting but no, he's just not up to it.

His best performances were at home to Brugge and Midgetland. What does that indicate?

Sometimes you just need to hold your hands up and accept that some players simply aren't suited to the elite level. Regardless of what Memphis himself thinks.

Any genuine interest in him?
I really hope so cos this place is becoming unbearable at times. For all we know the boy is training hard and the reason why he has been left out altogether lately is because He's desire to leave to play football has being made known to Jose who had taken an action not to play him anymore. He's not disrupting the dressing room, nor blabbing to the media, neither is he the reason why we are 6th. All in all he's been professional about his impending departure. Then you come here and every off field tweet causes an outrage, self confidence has been Caf converted to wanting be be Ronaldo. The kid can't get a break even when the team is winning.

The new years eve photo's and video that have been in the media, I think he looks like he's on drugs.

This is a stupid way of thinking, taking a few minutes to post something on social media does not at all mean he isn't working hard, simple fact might be that he just isn't good enough. Tweeting or making a 30 second video on instagram, which is often just him working out anyway does not make him a self absorbed twit by any means, for all we know Under Armour might have in his contract to make a certain amount of videos or whatever as a part of his sponsorship deal.
How many other United players use social media as much as him? As for your comment about Under Armour, I rest my case. His priority should be worrying about performing for United not how many fashion videos he needs to make. The fact that you don't recognise this makes me suspect that you are cut from the same foolish and misguided cloth as Depay.

Definitely a wum

Should never have signed him based on his lifestyle, too much of a "bad boy"

No evidence of that. No more of a 'bad boy' than Pogba, just a significantly worse football player, which is the main problem.

:lol: erm Pogba Lingard Matas blog etc etc its nothing new

Folks, have u seen his Instagram and Twitter pics and vids?
He's laughing at us...

Hope he will be gone by the end of the month.

Pogba benefits from Freddie Murcury like charisma whereas Memphis is an unspecified member of Blazin' Squad.

It's frustrating, for me he had a lot of potential we saw glimpses of in his first season. GIven such limited game time does not lend to his cause now, its very easy to build up a perception of how awful he is when we see him for 20 minute cameos when a game is over.

He obviously has confidence, but he has no testicular fortitude as soon as he makes 1 mistake, just cowers afterwards. Frustrated for him that he didn't get another good run in the side - it worked for him before and we saw glimpses.

I guess when you compare his attitude away from the pitch next to Mkhi who in the space of 2 (or 3?) months, got his head down, accepted his faults and now is flourishing.. its another mark against him.

If he doesn't want to be here, hope we get rid ASAP. There are hundreds of young guys in his position who would die for a chance to grow in our club and under Mourinho.

We are trying to get rid.

Just doesn't seem to be many suitors for him unfortunately.

I could see him joining Everton or Wolfsburg. A loan back to the Netherlands could also suit both parties. He'd be likely to have a good season there and warrant more interest in him.

Memphis suffers from "big fish in a small pond" syndrome, he doesn't have the minerals to succeed at a club of our magnitude.

Should never have given him the No 7.

If he really joins Koeman in Everton, I only hope that he wont be great player.:wenger: it will hurt my feeling.
