He was wonderful vs Brugge and Midgetland. Maybe he has in him to be good against good teams as well. But his next club must be very patient with him. I can see him failing even at Everton. He has to go to a team like Palace or Boro. Maybe, just maybe, he will be a success there and then could make the next step.

He was good vs Arsenal.

He will be great at Everton and is a much better player than Lingard and Rashford
He isn't a "much better player" than Rashford at all.

You seem to have it in for Rashford. Lingard is a very good option to have and Rashford is going to be a class player.

Your agenda with him his strange - he was phenomenal last season whilst Depay has done nothing in a Utd shirt.

He couldn't buy a clue, don't bother.

Going by Jose' recent comments, I'm fairly certain he's as good as out the door. There's also a strong possibility the guy could end up playing at a very low level in the next few years, as I don't see anything about him, even for a club like Everton.

I also watched PSV quite a bit when he was there and that's why i never wanted us to sign him. I saw a player that was too one dimensional. The defenders kept giving him space to get his shots away, of which he took a ridiculous amount. Beyond that, I was never really impressed with the rest of his game.
When a manager that bring you to a club gives up on you and the next manager doesn't even bother, you have to say it's because the said player, is quite clearly not good enough.
Who says LVG gave up on him? Mourinho said himself the only reason why he hasn't got more game time was because he wanted to leave.

Towards the end of the season, LVG didn't even bother giving him any game time. Don't think he was ever in Mourinho's plans either. He might go on to have a decent career but, I have never seen anything to make me think he will be a top player.

That doesn't mean he's 'given up' on him though.

The only reason he is not playing any more is because he said he wanted to leave in January. Mourinho even still speaks of him in rather glowing terms IMO.
As opposed to the pros on here that have concluded that his absence is due to the music he listens to or the clothes he wears or cars he drives.

I'm in the minority that thinks he can still come good and be a very good player. He just needs a club and a manager that will be patient and help him adapt. This place has a tendency to write off players by 21 which is just ridiculous.

I doubt he had his mind made up on a move in the beginning of the season. Mourinho rarely selected him then so while he may be a good lad and hard worker, he clearly has unimpressed the coaches in training.

There is an almost cruel irony that this cock-sure young star who big clubs were after has lost his thunder to two academy boys. Lingard and later Rashford more or less closed the door on him.

Most of the reports say £25m to £31m. Where did you get 16 from?
Pretty sure his actual amount got leaked last year & it was like 16 or 18. All those initial reports were BS, I'll try find the leak again but it's not like media have been widely reporting their own failure.

Edit: Found this, obviously you could try find a clip from the Spanish TV programme but I'm not going to do that and then try translate it as I don't speak Spanish. This guy (who tweeted) is a football agent.

Isn't that a fake twitter account?

Now we still need to find someone who is willing to buy him, and apparently a new name for my account. Thanks Memphis...

I think he will do very well at Everton if he puts his mind down to it. I think he will be handled much better by Koeman than he was handled by LvG.

I think people are being harsh on Memphis. He's got a lot of ability but obviously lacks the work ethic and or football IQ to bind it all together. That puts him more in the category of Zaha and Januzaj than it does the likes of Sanchez or Ronaldo.

If you're looking at players who we can upgrade on, he's clearly one of them. I have nothing against the boy, and hope he can get his career back on track somewhere, but he's been extremely disappointing overall. A few, infrequent bits of skill aside, he's basically contributed nothing. The fact that he fell out of favour with LVG, the man who bought him in the first place, speaks volumes. He's obviously not done enough to force his way into Jose's plans. I don't necessarily believe that he has an attitude problem, or that he's distracted by material things...I just don't think he's good enough. The sooner we can ship him out and bring in an upgraded replacement, the better off we'll be.

If he lacks the work ethic then he deserves all the criticism he gets. Any young lad in his position should work their arse off to succeed.

I think you're right. The ability is never in question as you don't pay 26m without it, just can it be delivered under these circumstances. The issue of doing it in a lesser league is rubbish as how many players have come from Dutch league to go on to be world class. One of the biggest issues often overlooked in football is luck and timing. It works for some and against others. Rashford and Martial doing well magnified that he wasn't. Also I think it's an unfair comparison as Rashford has been around the club for a decade and Martial's ceiling is much higher than Memphis as the transfer was worth twice as much....

He's had his chances no doubt and maybe didn't take them but that doesn't make him a bad player. It's interesting that people have talked about other young players of his age that when on to do it in Prem but look at the list....

Rooney, CR, Bale, Hazard, DG et al....the top draw. Speaks volumes and look within the club, we have two really talented players at Sunderland and the other in Spain who you'd argue are probably worth 20m but I'd argue won't be seen anywhere near the starting 11....

No disgrace not making it at Utd as most don't....

This is the problem with the modern game, kids given ridiculous money and a lot of them think they are bully big bollocks all of a sudden and don't have to put the effort in any more, see Richardson Depay etc

I haven't seen anything to suggest he has a poor attitude. Mourinho even praised his hard work earlier in the season. I'm of the opinion he's simply not good enough. Sometimes there's nothing more to it.

He's got Italian football written all over him. Expect him to sign for Napoli or one of the Milan's in the near future.

People seem to forget that he is just bloody 22! Football is not exactly teeming with 22 year olds. If we write off players before they get to 23 then what is the point of development?

Huh. Like how he's passive aggressive at the end. Good riddance.

You and me both. The notion that 'he will amount to 'nada' aged 22, after what he showed for PSV and Holland, whilst playing regular football, is laughable. In my opinion he is too talented yo not eventually make a great career for himself.

No loan, so you wonder who, if anyone, will be brave enough to drop £15-20 million on him.

Interesting though that Jose is been so open about him wanting out, surely that would devalue him.

Ugh, what a turd. I don't often get annoyed at how rich footballers are (and I'm often arguing with my dad about how it doesn't matter what they earn) but seeing him swan about in his massive house in his private pool acting like Cristiano Ronaldo having achieved essentially feck all in his career is a bit horrendous.

He might have the talent (even this is debatable) but he absolutely does not have the mentality to succeed here, based on his public persona at least (before everyone asks if I know him personally).
