Memphis Depay | Lyon player

Seeing him live - he lacks one thing lingard has - on the field game sense. I haven't seen depay make the right run never mind his dribble. I'd prefer us to sell him with a buy back clause rather than loan - just so he can start completely fresh.

If he is good enough - we will break any WR transfer fee for him.

Should we have done the same with Bebe and Obertan? Not everyone who joins United is destined to become a great player. From what I've seen Depay is more Bebe than Ronaldo.
so you judge him after 1 season? bebe and obertan had more than 1 season with us to prove themselves, Both always had SAF as a manager and didn't prove there worth. Memphis has had LVG in his first season and Mourinho in his second, 2 managers with different styles and approaches. you can't compare Memphis to those guys.

loan him out to a premium club till the end of the season, hopefully he will kick on and get a run of games together. then next season see how he is from the start till Jan and go from there.

They could use Memphis. Enner Valencia couldn't give less of a shit today.

Think he's had his chances. Small game player, not so intelligent and belongs in a smaller league. His attitude is also terrible, need to drop the bad boy mentality (I call it gutter mentality) if he achieves anything. It's a shame though, talent was clear when we signed him just couldn't progress because he thought he had made it just by signing for us. He forgot he had to play football. I'd personally sell him for 30+, if benteke went for that much so can he. Wouldn't bother with a buy back, Martial as an inside forward, Rashford as striker, MKH on right is a good future. We also have lingard who is a very good team player and touch wood we actually go for greizman.

He put this on his Instagram, anyone think it means anything? Could mean nothing at all.

That's not his account.

Annoys me when people make stupid comments like this. It has absolutely no reflection on his abilities, performance or attitude towards the game. Just proves how culturally deficient some people are.

Did he kill your cat? Tired of comments that act like they know him or what a player wears to bed affects on pitch performances.

Where is the sense in not including a buy back clause if it is possible?

Have we ever put a buy back clause into a deal? I don't see it happening and we'd be better off just buying a new player who fits and can do what Jose wants. It doesn't seem like Jose fancies him at all and I don't blame him

I would rather play him more than sell him.

Everton would be a terrible move. They're crap.

Initially I wanted to keep him and see if he would improve under Jose. Clearly Jose does not see anything in him or else he would have featured a lot more. Take into consideration Jose's comments on Mkhitaryan. Jose has talked about him and commented on him not being ready to start. This seems to have motivated Mkhitaryan and he got his break. I don't recall seeing or hearing anything about Memphis in Jose's comments stating he is a good player but needs to work more, blah, blah, blah. I think his fate has been sealed under Jose. Best for him to move on. Don't think he'll be good in any premier league team for that matter. You can blame it on his attitude and ego, you can blame it on his bulk, you can blame it on LVG's brainwashing style of play, or you can even blame it on the #7 curse. Whatever the reason, it just hasn't worked out.

Next.

I never thought he was good enough for us and sadly it looks as if he's proved me right.

What's going to happen to my Memphis shirt i bought in his debut season? I was so excited when he starred in the win against Club Brugge and thought we had a gem on our hands

According to Daily Mirror, he will be sold for 17 million (euro)

Me too:(

My apologies, I worded it incorrectly. Manchester United has set the transfer fee to 17 million, if someone would like to buy him. Quite a bargain actually if he starts playing like he did against Midtjylland, but they have to take his wages into account, although I think he doesn't mind that much as long as he can play. Even with 50% of his wages he can still buy all the extravagant stuff he's buying now.

People say he hasn't gotten enough chances, but there must be a reason two managers in a row now don't play him.

I really had high hopes for him, but i really doubt he has what it takes to make it at the level we aspire to be. Sell him to a smaller club and let's call it a day, i think Depay as well will be happier for it

U see the problem with fans like you, you get too emotionally connected to players. It didn't work out for him cause his attitude was rubbish, life moves on, why live in hope that he may one day start to do well again. If that's the case why sell him? Loan the guy out he has 3 years left on his contract.

Culturally deficient? Mate I work for one of the largest global multinationals in the world, I work with people everyday that come from different backgrounds. Let's not even start that ball game.

Secondly you can address the poster as you clearly have an issue which you did not define.

I said very clear, his talent is clear just like Balotelli. His attitude is all talk, he clearly thinks he has made it already when the move to United was just a step forward in the direction he needed to go. All of his social media you see this guy quoting drake about how he made it all with nothing,he's done this and that.

Let's compare with Ronaldinho or Messi. Both came from a poorer background, bit had that drive to succeed further although they had already made it. I don't see that from Depay, and social media tells u A LOT about someone's personality these days. Information is vast on the Internet, just use your brain to filter out.

If he turns out to be great in 5 years, I'll happily eat my words, but trust me I had high hopes for him but every single chnace he had (33 games) he didn't do well 95% of the time!

Next time you want to be critical, at least justify for your opinion.

Why is it his attitude? As if that's the only thing keeping a player from succeeding... what's wrong with his attitude? That all coaches say he works the hardest at training? Or is the problem that you don't like players that don't play but do spend their money on shiny things?

First; if he works the hardest then why is he not succeeding, issue number one.
Second: my issue with his attitude is he thinks he's made it when he has not. When you go out and splash the cash on certain things, you give off a perception. Perception is important in life in the way people understand you. It also helps shape the way u react or proactive a situation.
Third: you tell me how many chances you would give him and why? What would u our options be?

This is where we should flog him abroad for pittance instead of giving a Premier League team a bargain. And also sod Everton they have got enough players from us over the years and we haven't really gotten any benefit in return. Why help them out?

First: Maybe he's just not good enough, and Martial is better? Is that his fault?
Second: He spends his money on whatever he wants. If he likes a car, and has the money, why not? That doesn't mean anything, people like different things...
Third: I would loan him out for 1-2 years to a subtop team in the PL, or Bundesliga. I don't think he's ready yet for this level day in, and day out. Game time every week is important now at this age, and I believe he can still come good. Just like Pogba.

Doubt he'd start for Everton. He's not better than Lennon or Mirallas.

Well good for you, you could work for the Oxfam it wouldn't make your view point any less ridiculous.

I think I made my point perfectly clear, that's why it's bolded a part of your post? If you need help deciphering it then you probably shouldn't be allowed to converse with other human beings.

Because he has a 'bad boy mentality' it means he couldn't possibly have a good work ethnic in training, right?

Your opinion is based purely on what a 'bad boy' is to you. You have ZERO insight into what he actually trains like, please, provide some hard evidence that he's a shit trainer. Then you go on to criticise him for spending his money on what he wants, what that has to do with his work ethnic I have no idea.

Lol your point is still one dimensional. You can be critical that's fine, but without constructive feedback your point is pathetic. Arguing and telling me I'm wrong (which I may be in future) is one thing but without telling me what u think is good about him is just typical and not constructive.

I said very clearly he has talent, he's had chances but he has a poor attitude to things. Social media is a data point that gives u a picture of what someone is like. That's my opinion and I'm not here to convInce you, just give my opinion.

I never said he's a shit trainer, I dont no how he trains. He cpuld be the best in class, but the fact is when he plays there is no passion. There is also a reason Jose has started in one game, against Northampton. There have been moments we were crying out for a winger. He obviously can't be trusted.

The world's not black and white like you see it. Look for the shades of grey.

Are you even reading whats been written?

My point is pretty clear. You've decided his attitude is shit based on him being a bad boy and because he splashes the cash 'on certain thing's. You've decided what type of person he is based on feck all.

Oh the irony of telling me the world isn't black and white yet making an uninformed opinion on a player based on your own stereotypical views.

Can't really be arsed with this. He has been ignored by 2 managers and when given chance, he has failed to impress.

Memphis is an epic fail signing considering he was given the no 7 jersey. Shall get rid ASAP and be done with it.

Lol and your questioning if I read what you wrote? Practice what you preach and understand the context.

Everything is an uninformed opinion in life no data is black and white. As I said, I may be wrong, but there is a good chance his attitude won't get him where he should be.

In fact, didn't the Dutch manager once say this, didn't gaal also say this?

If you want to remain one dimensional in your thinking and bold out shit like a child that's down to you. As your tired of people like me, I'm tired of people like you who claim anyone who has an opinion is being stereotypical. We will see how things pan out with depay. Let's talk in a few years.
