I think a six months loan from January till end of the season would do him a world of good. At a lower midtable club I think he would get enough games to reach fitness and impress for the following season. If it fails it could also help bring a better fee if Jose decides to move him on

Luke haw... I don't think that's the s he was talking about. :p

Yep. Parking on double yellows in Altrincham to have a quick peri-peri or something (I've only ever been in a Nando's once, don't actually know what they serve).

Yeah, their main thing is peri peri chicken.

Tbh without any injury on his position he won't get near starting 11. I expect him to get a chance maybe in december, january or even later.

I’m hoping he won’t get injured in a long while. Give him a decent amount of games and I’m sure we’ll see haw picking up some form.

I didn't know we get a new player named Luke Haw, what's his position ?

I once saw a crap Leeds player (doesn't narrow it down admittedly) doing more or less exactly that in Leeds. Range Rover straight in the disabled spot and into Nandos.

Right I’ve moved all that bench shit to a thread in the general. Back on topic team!

I doubt he will make a meaningful contribution this season. He is still below form and fitness required for 1st team consideration:

This is the baffling part of this situation. If any other footballer is lacking form or fitness you figure it might take them maybe two or three weeks to get back into contention. Yet somehow with Shaw we've come to accept these geological time scales where it starts to sound reasonable that Shaw needs more than 7 or 8 months to work up to decent match fitness. And what happens when the summer break comes? Does he need 7 or 8 months of the 18/19 season to work up to first team level?

This clown either needs to step up or feck off! Our left back situation is a fecking shambles.

Frustrating to see someone like Joe Gomez do so well after a long injury in 15/16, Gomez was even out for all of 16/17. Whilst feck knows what Luke Shaw is doing right now.

I’m English and would love to see him nail down the left back spot for club and country, but enough is enough. The situation is now farsical.

Luke Shaw played for the under 23s today with the sort of attitude and commitment you would expect from someone who is coming to terms with fact that his next career move should be some sort of accountancy training course.

Ffs

I was expecting him to pull out his finger today.

His head is gone. Most top premiere league players can play well below their normal level and still be the best performer in reserve games. Pereira and Januzaj would take the mickey in reserve games and they arent even at that level.

Im not surprised, he's been given a few chances and many of them he failed to do the basics and played like a headless chicken. His positioning is all over the place.

Very disappointing to hear this. I honestly thought he was going to be a star. He must be lacking desire/work ethic/ambition. Pity really as he had a real chance of succeeding but just can't commit.
Oh well looks like we will be getting a new LB in January.

Did anyone actually watch the game to make these assessments? I for one find it terribly disappointing if it's accurate

It's clear his United career is over. Darmain, Blind, Young and Rojo are clearly ahead of him for the LB position. Can't really say its a shame since he's been poor when not injured, other than the 6 or 7 game period at the beginning of 15/16.

What a waste. Injury can't be an excuse
Nope, injury has nothing to do with his attitude. he came back at the same time as young, and you can see how young integrated seamlessly to the team after coming back and actually nailed a place in the first eleven with the right attitude.
it's disappointing really.
