Is that counting the time to regain match fitness and rebuild the lost muscle mass from not using the leg?
Yeah my assessment was that he will be back by pre-season and then from there on should be able to work on his fitness and regain muscle mass. But judging by other posts i see him coming back by Nov/Dec 25.

I mean, I don't know how that would be physically possible.
It's possible if you're a normal human being with more than enough time to recover and rehabilitate but as a pro footballer ? I have no idea.
I have been following KneesOverToes guy story and he suffered from serious knee himself only to come back much fitter and stronger. However the time it took was years

I’m hoping you’re correct with your assessment, it will be such a loss for the time being. I only saw it happen live, I couldn’t bare to watch the replay as it brought him to tears having to be assisted off the pitch.

Feel really bad for him, but his chances as a prominent player in the EPL are probably out the window at this point. He's just a younger Luke Shaw now.

At the very least he should not be in our plans as a starting player in the future.

Jesus, we are beyond fecked this season now if anybody could reasonably say we weren't already.

Genuinely, we are pretty lucky that there are three really bad sides in the league this season. I'm not even wholly confident that we'll finish above 16th with Licha out.

Gutted for him.

However from a footballing point of view, yes we'll miss hid ability on the ball, but his replacement will likely be stronger and faster.

I'm not saying this is some kind of weird plus, I'd obviously prefer him to ge in the team.

But some extra height and pace is needed at the back.

Sadly I think that's it for us and Martinez. Hope for some miracle, but if that is it at the top level for us then it's been a good journey.

I believe the KOT guys injury or issue was patella tendinopathy and not ligaments?

if it is indeed the same knee cant imagine you can count on him moving forward. Already was showing signs of this league being too much for him physically.

It’s the other knee isn’t it? At least that’s what I saw on Reddit.

How do you know it’s the same knee? Or have you just made that up?

I stand corrected, Coufal fell on his right knee, and now it's the left one. You guys are correct. Somone posted in the match thread that it's the same knee again, and I did not fact-check that.

His United career is over never mind his season. A broken foot, back injury and an ACL tear all in the space of two years, his body will not be the same.

Just when you thought the season couldn't get worse, absolutely dreadful stuff.

Bad injury probably looking at mid Autumn 2025 at best.

See if Shaw can at least get near a pitch to try and reduce the blow in the short term.

He has returned to training so we might see him soon. I do think that if he is able to remain mostly fit over the next year or two his future is at LCB rather than as a wing back.

Wish him the best, I really hope he can make it back but given his injury record, this can be career ending or Luke Shaw 2.0 type of career. However, he is a fighter let's hope!

Hadn't Shaw been seen training recently. He may come in for. Few games before his next injury and could take the LCB role with Drogu at LWB. Before and after the notorious return of Shaw, we could see Heaven step up and/or that 16 year old we have.

No, he hasn't had an ACL before. He got a sprain on his right knee.
Oh, so it’s his first ACL and on another knee too? Then there are actually chances he comes back, different injuries on different knees are perhaps not related to each other

If we had a team full of players with half of his passing ability, we'd be contenders. Huge loss and can't help but feel gutted for him and the team.

All good pal. It’s crap for him and for us though isn’t it. Gutted about it, not sure he’ll remain a big part of the team in the long term, but at least this season is a league write off and he’ll have the summer break to rehab.
