Is that counting the time to regain match fitness and rebuild the lost muscle mass from not using the leg?
Yeah my assessment was that he will be back by pre-season and then from there on should be able to work on his fitness and regain muscle mass. But judging by other posts i see him coming back by Nov/Dec 25.

I mean, I don't know how that would be physically possible.
It's possible if you're a normal human being with more than enough time to recover and rehabilitate but as a pro footballer ? I have no idea.
I have been following KneesOverToes guy story and he suffered from serious knee himself only to come back much fitter and stronger. However the time it took was years

How do you know it’s the same knee? Or have you just made that up?
Last time was right knee, now left if I remember correctly.

Just his luck when he finally found some form.

I’m hoping you’re correct with your assessment, it will be such a loss for the time being. I only saw it happen live, I couldn’t bare to watch the replay as it brought him to tears having to be assisted off the pitch.

Feel really bad for him, but his chances as a prominent player in the EPL are probably out the window at this point. He's just a younger Luke Shaw now.

At the very least he should not be in our plans as a starting player in the future.

Jesus, we are beyond fecked this season now if anybody could reasonably say we weren't already.

Genuinely, we are pretty lucky that there are three really bad sides in the league this season. I'm not even wholly confident that we'll finish above 16th with Licha out.

Gutted for him.

However from a footballing point of view, yes we'll miss hid ability on the ball, but his replacement will likely be stronger and faster.

I'm not saying this is some kind of weird plus, I'd obviously prefer him to ge in the team.

But some extra height and pace is needed at the back.

Lindelof is back

Sadly I think that's it for us and Martinez. Hope for some miracle, but if that is it at the top level for us then it's been a good journey.

I believe the KOT guys injury or issue was patella tendinopathy and not ligaments?

if it is indeed the same knee cant imagine you can count on him moving forward. Already was showing signs of this league being too much for him physically.

It’s the other knee isn’t it? At least that’s what I saw on Reddit.

I stand corrected, Coufal fell on his right knee, and now it's the left one. You guys are correct. Somone posted in the match thread that it's the same knee again, and I did not fact-check that.

His United career is over never mind his season. A broken foot, back injury and an ACL tear all in the space of two years, his body will not be the same.

Just when you thought the season couldn't get worse, absolutely dreadful stuff.

Bad injury probably looking at mid Autumn 2025 at best.

See if Shaw can at least get near a pitch to try and reduce the blow in the short term.

We couldn't just lose 0-2 to Palace, we just had to lose this guy too. When it rains...

He has returned to training so we might see him soon. I do think that if he is able to remain mostly fit over the next year or two his future is at LCB rather than as a wing back.

Wish him the best, I really hope he can make it back but given his injury record, this can be career ending or Luke Shaw 2.0 type of career. However, he is a fighter let's hope!

Hadn't Shaw been seen training recently. He may come in for. Few games before his next injury and could take the LCB role with Drogu at LWB. Before and after the notorious return of Shaw, we could see Heaven step up and/or that 16 year old we have.

Is it the second time he tore his crucial ligaments on left knee?

No, he hasn't had an ACL before. He got a sprain on his right knee.
Oh, so it’s his first ACL and on another knee too? Then there are actually chances he comes back, different injuries on different knees are perhaps not related to each other

If we had a team full of players with half of his passing ability, we'd be contenders. Huge loss and can't help but feel gutted for him and the team.

All good pal. It’s crap for him and for us though isn’t it. Gutted about it, not sure he’ll remain a big part of the team in the long term, but at least this season is a league write off and he’ll have the summer break to rehab.

We are absolutely fecked. He has stepped up a lot last few games. He was getting more space and time on the ball and he was hitting those amazing passes we knew he could. Assist against Rangers, winner against Fulham. Yesterday he had an almost assist with that over the top ball for amad. For a team struggling to do much with the ball he was absolutely crucial. We are even more fecked.

Came to write this. His assist for Amad as well in the City game, goal v Liverpool. He seemed to be the one of the 3 CB's that was the most advanced when we were playing against low block.

I wish him all the best and hope I'm wrong but he’s done! Too many major injuries at such a young age.

A replacement is needed in the summer. We can't repeat mistakes from the past and wait for injured players to be available. It's time to be ruthless.

with what money?

Would be a nice surprise if he can come back and not become another injury prone player. But we shouldn't count on it and start thinking of replacement for next summer.

If Heaven is ready to step up then we are well sorted. Play him for the rest of the season and see.

Scamacca just got back from an ACL injury within 6 months which is insane (Zlatan levels), although it looks like he's gotten injured again in his first appearance.

Tbh players can come back anywhere between 8-12 months, depending on recovery. Hope we get a replacement or someone steps up in the summer.

My young fella did his ACL last year and luckily it was only the ACL tear and no other serious damage to surrounding ligaments, tendons or bone.

His is taking 12 months for recovery, granted he doesnt get the same treatment and rehab as a professional, but its one of those things that just takes time to build up muscle and strength in that leg again before even getting back to match fitness.

Hope Martinez gets back to full fitness as we could do with a few more players with his kind of attitude and mentality.

Position we have the least cover for and is crucial to our build up. Lovely.

I said when Ruben came in, one issue with 5 at the back is how often our defenders have gotten injured over the past few years. Very unlikely to have a stable 5 whether it's luck or overplaying/overtraining

Dunno about that, Shaw might finally return even if he gets injured again. Harry can be move there. Maybe Maz, or even some kid from the academy. For teh roel the team can find solutions, maybe even try a more prgamatic approach that ends with more felxibility from Amorin to not risk evrything to the max till it works. We don't know.

Yet, his character and winner and positive attitude no matter what, it's sthg that it's hard to be replace. And it's not the same thing as resilliance (like Harry navigating a sea of shyte). It's talking to the press after a bad game, after beimng trashed by that same Press, it's to being harsh on himself on public, it's to celebrate your mates plays during games, it's pushing the line to attack when everything is falling even if you have make a mistake, it's that desire to win above all.
That it's hard to replace in a team that lacks those aspects from United teams from the past.
Of course to make it worse, his skills to defend and with the ball, are top of the draw so that makes it even worse and since Amorin needs players to have composure, to take risks attacking and defending with the talent to back that, yes that also it's hard to replace. Yet at least he can find some competent replacement and not making a mess and keep the shape of things. The character stuff? players are born with that edge and will, doesn't look like United right now has much of that in the lockeroom.

Sad for him and us. He's done though, he will never be the player long term we want and need. A first class replacement is a must in the summer. We will desperately miss what he brings when he's firing at his best.

Licha will likely be back before him
