Would be lovely if Scholesy would just stop talking absolute shite. Genius player. Moron pundit.

He's at risk of becoming Paul Merson.
Agreed. Scholes was joy to watch and wasn't a word out of him of then, nowadays opens his mouth and even make Merson look clever.

Martinez should have a bit more sense not to respond

Nice of Scholes to stick the boot into one of our players who has just been carried off the pitch in tears for the second time in 18 months due to a potentially career ending knee injury.

I listened to Beckham talking about Denis Law a week ago and how Charlton and Law were never heavy shadows hanging over Old Trafford and instead were so positive and encouraging to all the players but especially the younger ones and it struck me just what a miserable bunch of pricks the class of 92 are. It should be unconditional support and instead they just constantly shit on our players because they can never live up to their own legends.

Except, funnily enough, Beckham

Not sure scholes is wrong to be honest. And sadly can't stay healthy no matter how good he is

Absolutely. This, thankfully, happened to liverpool in the 90's with Hansen gobbing off every week.

To be fair it's really just Neville, Scholes and Keane but you're right. They bring so much toxicity to the club along with cnuts like Goldbridge that anyone other than Jadon Sancho would nearly have a point when they use words like freedom to describe anyone getting away from the place.

Martinez has had injury problems for all 3 seasons he's been at United, has his flaws as a defender and will be 28 next year. All the reasons why I think we'll sell him in summer of 2026.

I don't think that comparison works, as, correct me if I'm wrong, Law and Charlton weren't pundits. Scholes' comment didn't need to be as inflammatory as it was, but as a pundit he shouldn't have to show any partiality towards United and our players. My issue with Scholes and other British pundits is they they seldom stick the boot in on English players/ ex-team mates in the same way in which they do their foreign counterparts.

Firstly its a weird comment from Scholes. Lisandro is easily good enough to be one of the weaker spots in a title winning team. There have been loads of players who werent that good, but because everyone else is doing great they were able to be part of a successful team. Is he good enough to be one of the main players of a premier league winning team? I'm not sure. I can certainly see why a lot of people would say no. Although out of who we currently have at the club he's one of the only people leading others on the pitch, talking to them and telling them to do things and communicating.

You see that comment quite a lot about various players - "you're never winning a league title with X player in your team".

Realistically that's never true because if the team is far ahead enough of the competition then they can carry a weaker player. Teams have won a league title by like 20 points before. You could put Lindelof or Fred in those teams and they'd still win the league.

However, I think the overall sentiment needs to stand. Really what he's saying is Martinez place in the team is one we need to be looking to upgrade if we're to build a premier league winning side.

He shouldn't reply, even if unfair, full stop.

Yes Licha has been receiving shyte (not only from Scholes) since the very first minute he arrived to the EPL and I guess this last injury doesn't precisly have him in the best of spirits, I guess he got finally tired.
He could just answered like he normally does and this time maybe a bit of irony, sarcasm saying sthg in the line of: "thank you former United legends for the support with my new injury", that way he would have exposed Scholes out of touch comment (BTW has been quite obnoxious since time).

PD1: he treated Scholes as a "mufa", as someone that brings "bad luck", more than probably because of two reaons: his recent too many comments about him and later him getting injured and because he is a ginger. Gingers were always called out as being bad luck.
The last part of Scholes not surviving in Argentina, I don't have a clue why he said that, maybe because Scholes said EPL was too tough for him? or just an unnecessary reiterative pun because Scholes is "bad omen ginger", in any case this style of response it's pretty unnecesary.
PD2: Side Note: I was talking about in another thread, how former players seem to forget how much they hated the trolling from the Press, the over the top opinions, the constant comparison with themselves and they are almost always reactive in their opinions, I think it was in the Erling Thread.

Is there anything Argies aren't racist about:lol:

Don't have a problem with what both said tbh. Scholes said some stupid shit and Martinez replied in good faith.

Of course preferably it'd be best if both said nothing but it is what it is.

Unnecessary beef between the two.
Honestly I find it so weird that Scholes is my 2nd favourite United player and probably my least favourite pundit ever. He’s genuinely worse than Souness. Seems so obnoxious and ignorant and him and that group create so much toxicity for the club in the media. Even this, like why is Scholes saying it?
