Good defensive games or offensive ones because that’s the distinction with him these days; in his first season he was mostly snuffing out attacks and then initialising attacks and being lauded for it, but these days he gets praise for bits and pieces - sporadic actions within the 90, usually a great pass, but very rarely something we can bank on at the back. He’s gone from a leader back there to someone we’re relieved when he gets through two halves without making a goal-costing mistake.I don't keep a diary, but he's had several good games for us this season. He's lacking consistency though, like the rest of the team. Our players (and as a team) seem to go from one extreme (looking pretty good at times) to the other (looking incomprehensibly shite). This isn't a new thing for us though, and probably suggests some issues with culture and mentality.
Personally, I think the injury has really messed with him, physically and mentally and all the shite we’re going through as a club is exacerbating and compounding everything for him.
