I don't know why people get so defensive when people criticize injuries. Our biggest signing last season barely played last season. Our biggest signing from the year before barely played last season. We have a left back who's been injured for years. We have another left back who's injured a lot.

Maybe our medical team should be doing more when we're signing a player.

Maybe we're over training, over playing some of these players.

Something is definitely not right. There are reports Yoro has metatarsal injuries which have been ignored during the signing. Between him and De Ligt, it's probable one of them will be out for at least half the season based on previous signings.

Hopefully it's been bad luck and we'll get a rub of the green from now and have a healthy squad from now. But to me it's more than luck all this.

Looking forward to him being fit, I think he'll bench Martinez the way things are going.

When is he due back? I heard October before is that still the case?

Don`t think they want to take any chances with him. Somewhere in october is probably a good guess unless he has setbacks

Any news on an expected return date? Can't seem to find one.

A back 3 of him, De Ligt and Martinez would be very solid. I know we’ll never play a back 3 under ETH but late in games when keeping hold of a win.

Maybe we'll see it in possession if Martínez ever plays left-back again with the other two starting together at CB...however, out of possession, I don't think either Martínez or de Ligt have enough place to be a wide defender. Swap one of them for Branthwaite and defensively that's rock solid in a back 3. Branthwaite-Lisandro/MDL-Yoro

Physically, de Ligt looks quite mobile and athletic. Whether he has the game intelligence and style to be covering big areas out wide is a different question. I think he's done ok in the very few instances we've seen so far; need to see more to judge properly.

The issue IMO is that he's not great at eating up large spaces quickly, and can also get absolutely done 1v1 in the channels vs pacey attackers. He should be in the centre IMO, organizing the team around him where his weaknesses can be masked and he can focus on doing what he's good at.

So, how far off match fitness could this kid be? Would not mind having him as an option for Brentford

Good to see him making progress. Out of interest what is the idea of the structure around the treadmill? Is it to relieve pressure on his feet?

Yeah it's an anti gravity device. I googled the brand to figure that out. Interesting creation

Actually kind of glad he has missed the horrible start to the season and not been bogged down with the criticism and pressure. Ideally, I'd hope he comes into a freshened atmosphere with a new coach and approach but that's for a different thread.

Looking forward to this lad turning out for us. He's got the recovery pace and attributes to defend wide areas that none of our current CBs really have. I feel he could be a better partner for any of Martinez/De Ligt/Maguire than either of those guys would be for each other.

United really should be careful with him and prioritize his long term development. Lille played him into the ground last year. Putting 3700 minutes onto a 17/18 year old player is really irresponsible and its not all that surprising that he ended up with a significant injury. Especially given that the adaptation to the PL will be significant, United should be looking to make him part of a CB rotation but to give him plenty of rest and avoid playing him twice a week. Guys like Varane and Saliba did not play >3000 first team minutes until their fourth or five professional season, they were built up slowly physically over time.

Poor Leny, having been conned into joining us and now nearly ready to return into action.

The Yoro/Evans partnership is gonna turn our season around. Now to fix the midfield.
