I'm not a fan, but that is ridiculous. There are two defenders and the keeper blocking the goal along with Brobbey in the way. That is not exactly a sitter

Just seems to lack conviction in all that he does on the pitch. I'm sure there's a player in there, hopefully Amorim can bring it out.

We need to stop buying players without pace. Especially forwards. The best forwards are fast. Period.

Maybe this'll be the hill I die on, but I'm still confident he's going to do well here. I like his movement off the ball and the way he creates space from himself.

Great making space for yourself if you know how to play football. He's like an overweight snail with a shell made of lead.

How the hell are you still not full member after joining 14 years ago and having over 3000 messages?

It's like he sleep walked into a professional career. Both him and Hojlund will be under the most pressure to impress Amorim in my opinion.

Has he always been considered a striker? To me he looks more of an attacking midfielder or a 9 as he’s basically a decent passer to make the play flow/set up others.

Weird combination of great qualities and troubling tendencies

Good instincts for 1 touch plays (almost always his first choice) but they aren’t always the most effective play. If he could introduce some pausa and better ball manipulation then the options available to him would improve exponentially

Physically imposing but looses a lot of physical battles where it matters

Drifts into pockets but he’s almost always behind the play by a good margin. Hardly ever attacks the box with any aggression. Can be a little flat footed or lacking in intensity.

not surprised if he is going to be used as a 10 or even a CM like Mousa Dembele

I thought he would be good for us but wow... he lacks alot. He seems talented but I would prefer to see players with a bit more about them.. he is too casual for my liking.

He doesn't seem to have intensity about his game at all, will be interesting to see how he fits in with Amorim.

I like him. Guy knows to play football. But yeah, he is not natural striker which is even a bigger problem now when we have a manager who doesn't use no10s as second strikers.
WIth Hojlund and Rashford plus possible new starting striker next summer, he will be maybe first to leave.

Nevertheless, i hope that he will start next few games on no9 position. Lets see can he surprises us all.

Leaving aside defending or pressing, his movement seems really poor. There were a couple opportunities to create overloads or clever darts into space but he just lumbers around the pitch.

Also, not everything has to be a one-touch pass, sometimes has space to take a touch and play a better pass but he seems allergic to taking more than one touch.

Really not surprised by this showing. This guy really has no clue what "give and go" is.

As soon as he releases the pass to his teammate, he seems to think "yep, that's my job done". No, it's not; make the pass, and then bust a gut to run into some space (not lazily jog) and give your teammates some options.

I like to think there's a player in there somewhere. Not seeing it though. A nice touch or layoff here and there is one thing, but he's just not involved enough, has no pace and no urgency to make himself available in spaces he could move into. Right now, I'd rate his time with us as being worse than Weghorst. At least the latter put a shift in. Admittedly he couldn't hit a barn door from 6 yds (nor can ZZ), but he worked hard for the team and put himself about.

Just a complete lack of intensity, on the occasions he makes a nice pass he will then just stand there and admire it rather than making movement to get the back again

I know ashworth has just come on board but still don't see how he sanctioned this purchase. Makes me think of Antony where he just doesn't have the attributes to play at this level rather than an unpolished diamond who can be developed

Nah I think he has far more natural ability than Antony. Honestly I think it was a calculated risk on a position of need where we knew we could get him for the release clause or very close now and bet on him continuing to improve, instead of waiting another year and having to pay more than double if he had a big year. He was excellent for Motta last year in a good Bologna team.

But yeah it’s alarming how little intensity he has to his game. I don’t mind languid styles like his but you still need that killer instinct inThe final third where he seems reluctant to even shoot. Not what you want to see out of a young striker n

He’s a bit of a donkey. I hope there’s a player in there somewhere, but I’m not seeing it.

there doesn’t seem to be any intent from him to want to win. Just coasts through games
