Absolute calamity of a player. Is there a signing who has look so consistently shit for us before? I doubt he would even be a bench option for most PL clubs and we spent almost 40m on him.

I think he offers less than Antony. At least Antony will be diligent & aggressive off the ball. Zirkzee is miles off it in almost every aspect of the game.
Not sure he’s going to cut it at the sharp end of any of the top 5 leagues. Bologna & equivalent in France could well be his ceiling.
No pace, can’t finish, doesn’t make any runs, can’t use his frame/win duels. Has very little utility in this side. Amorim should pretty quickly phase him out, he has the political capital to make big calls. Blood Wheatley if he’s at the level or could get there.
Time to cut our losses on this one. It’s not a form thing, it’s an outright talent level issue.

Plays like he’s playing 5 a side with his mates and nothing riding on the game. Think that position suited him a bit better as he’s got more around him, but still way below the required level even for a sub.

Maybe he'll come good yet but it's worrisome that our signings our so mentally fragile and unprepared for the stage. We need to sign players who have the personality to show their best under this stressful environment - no matter if they're not top class players - rather than shirk.

What I dont get is the amazement. He picked up balls in his own half every game. He is more a play maker than striker
Yeah, in desire to get more playmaking ability upfront we ended up with 2 strikers who couldn't be more opossite to each other. And worrying thing is that neither one (atm) is looking like he can improve on his flaws which is necessary to lead the line for United.
Zirkzee is also looking worse and worse. EPL is just too fast for him.

Indeed. The technique was Sunday league (lower divisions) level. A scooped, lofted curler, only hope is that it goes over some chubby bloke in goals.

Relax is was just a bad shot. He's capable of much better. I actually want to see him in the role Garnacho played today. He's highly rated by Motta in that role.
Honestly, Zirkzee is starting to worry me a bit. I was surprised when he was subbed on and not surprised he didn't do much. I think we would have done better to leave Bruno in an advanced position and introduce Mainoo.
He's never gonna be a starter is he? Think the best we can hope for is he's a decent backup/utility player and even seems like a reach at the moment.
