Jeremy Corbyn - Not Not Labour Party(?), not a Communist (BBC)

Some people think the BBC is a bit biased.

She's not actually a billionaire anymore, as she gave several hundred million to charity (and paid a lot of tax).

Maybe Frankie Boyle should stick to insulting disabled children (or, you know, not do that at all).

Maybe let Frankie do the jokes?

Jeremy Corbyn's Cannabis Policy Backed By Former Drugs Chief David Nutt

Not the greatest name for a drugs chief.
Good.

It's worth pointing out the context of the clip, it's from around 2014 and is about JK Rowling view on Scottish Independence(Who gave a shite what JK Rowling thinks of Scottish Independence).

So there.

But rich seeing as Rowling knowingly encourages online abuse.

Pretty much, yeah. It's not been highlighted that much but apparently she does something wherein she tags her followers into conversations between her and people she disagrees with which results in said people getting a ton of abuse sometimes. Not to mention that she was exposed as being quite pally on social media with some people who've got a history of abusing people online as well.

Frankie Boyle's a bit of an arse but like Rowling he's done plenty of his own charity work, and he doesn't really try or pretend to be an admirable guy.

Aye she knows exactly what she's doing.

Wasn't that when Natalie McGarry tried to stir up her own followers against Rowling by saying she was supporting an abusive user, before publicly apologising a few weeks later for being wrong?

Thats not what I'm referring to.

McGarry's made a habit of saying and doing stupid shit but she actually had a point on this one, even if she worded it poorly.

While the above link is Wings Over Scotland (who's a complete prick himself), it does quite rightly highlight that Rowling has an extensive history of chatting to someone in a friendly manner who was quite unashamedly abusive and only apologised once he was called out on it. It's petty internet catfighting at its worst, but it's quite interesting in that Rowling jumps on McGarry right away and copies in all her followers quite deliberately. Also interesting for the fact that Rowling quite blatantly was friends with a misogynistic troll.

Leaving aside Corbyn, May's polling at the moment makes no sense whatsoever.
Honeymoon phase they call it(All new PM get some sort of boost) but yeah it's odd to say the least, She hasn't done anything as PM yet(Could be the reason for such high polling) not to mention the her party has just brought is out the country out of the EU.

People are odd.

What do the Corbynistas make of his performance around Brexit since the vote? Whilst he is prattling on about trains and drinks after work Chukka Umunna is quietly getting on with putting together a body to hold the Tories to account on the shape of Brexit.

Better than Smith in my opinion.

Go for it... the corbynistas will believe anything if it involves blaming Blair... I'm surprised Diane abbott or another of the (very) small circle of loyal mp's has not been implying it was probably Blair who bricked eagles window to detract from chilcot

I have absolutely no issue with people who don't like Corbyn but the condescending tone of all your posts in this thread is tiresome, to say the least.

I think it's absolutely mental the stance they take against Nutt's expert advice.

He's the man they hired as an expert in his field to advise them on something they know absolutely nothing about and when his expert advice contradicts their policies, rather than adjusting their policies to reflect his thoughts, they sack him. Mental.
Yeah, funny that.

Owen with the bantz - http://www.politics.co.uk/news/2016...-sexist-nicola-sturgeon-tweet-was-just-banter

Also http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...leadership-contender-owen-smith-a7226051.html. Fair enough not agreeing with the idea of Basic Income but you've got to give a better answer then this. But know your audience. They've actually manage to find someone worse than Corbyn.

I wonder at what point does the anti-corbyn crowd start actually criticising Smith for the kind of stuff they try to hang Corbyn for?

Although there seems to be less and less Labour MPs out publically supporting Smith now. Slowly distancing themselves.

#UB4CORBYN

What the actual hell?
I've given up trying to understand. The soon to be re-elected leader of the Labour party calls press conferences to announce the endorsement of UB40, we just have to accept that now.

Who the hell are his PR advisers? Such a bizarre decision. All the more so considering that only half of the original UB40 line-up turned up because of a previous acrimonious split.

How fecking thick do you have to be to fail to predict the angle the media will take with this press conference?

Jesus wept. What was he thinking?!

Have you seen the Vice documentary on Corbyn? It is like a mocumentary comedy. At one point one of his aides excitedly says 'George Eaton has just tweeted that was Jeremy's best performance in PMQs', and aide two says 'yeah but George Eaton knows like nothing about anything'.

There are many unintended comedic moments like that.

Well he discussed the split in the conference so i think he was well aware of that.

It is all a bit odd i can only think they were trying to make a very poorly executed point about splits.

Im now just waiting for Owen Smith to appear with the Spice Girls before proclaiming himself a feminist.

Think it should be required watching for voters in the leadership election. I still can't believe the level of the team he surrounded himself with.

His number one aide is just some random guy they pulled from obscurity. He comes out with gems like 'they shouldn't try to force Jeremy out, they should let him fail in his own time'.

Possibly.

A pro-Corbyn Labour source insisted they were unworried by the 50% endorsement. “We have the backing of the more popular and successful UB40,” they said. “Proof that splitters don’t prosper.”

Unintentionally hilarious quote from the Guardian. What an absolute shower of eejits.

Given the quality of Smith's campaign I don't think his aides can be much better.
