How the feck are you supposed to carry out a genocide with fecking AKs and RPGs, when you know that you only have a couple of hours before tanks and combat helicopters come in and blow the living shit out of you.

Hamas' intent clearly was to kill as many soldiers as they could, and civilians as it turned out, although it's still to be determined how much of those the IDF killed. Then take hostages to exchange for Palestinians in "administrative detention" (Schutzhaft should ring some bells for those acquainted with History) which is a big deal in occupied Palestine. More importantly, torpedo the Abraham Accords and break the status quo that saw Palestine being sold down the drain when the major Arab dictatorships in the region either already signed on or were about to sign it.

It was a PR coup and a desperate roll of dice from an organization that saw no way out and its country about to disappear.

You'll never convince any normally constituted human being that ca. 2,000 militants on motorcycles and paragliders, on the clock, were out and about to commit genocide against the most powerful (nuclear) country in the region. Just because.

Just like Netanyahu, you're deliberately conflating a 75 years old struggle for independence with all the excesses that it entails and which are condemnable, with the systematic targeting and destruction of a people because of their ethnicity and/or religion. Something Israel definitely has to answer for.

It's why @Giggsy PO bullshit about it not being ethnic cleansing is pure nonsense. When you bomb a 'state' into nothing like this, displace everyone and kill tens of thousands it's the very definition of ethnic cleansing. It's purposeful they know it can never recover.

I don’t know what people expect. The US is not some great nation that aims for fair outcomes in the world. They seek control and only to do what helps their own interests not only in the middle east but also in Africa. Obama is part of said establishement
 
How is it that after a year of wanton destruction and a total blockade of the strip, the Israelis are still fighting Hamas in the north, still not able to stop rocket fire and still unable to find Sinwar?

People look at the ethnicity of Obama waiting for him to be different. Once politicians reach a certain position, their ethnicity becomes irrelevant and nothing should be expected of them.

For it to start being an issue that decides elections. In the US you have AIPAC that pours millions into candidates campaigns (in both parties) who are pro Israel, while funding opponents of those who harbour dissenting views on them. In the UK and other nations you have the media who will essentially character assassinate you if you so much as present any critical views on them and don't unequivocally back their right to 'self defence', regardless of what that actually entails. In short its political suicide for mainstream politicians or anyone with high political ambitions to so much as look at Israel funny. For that to be reversed you need politicians losing their jobs on the back of their apologist stance towards Israeli crimes, but we're a long way from that.

I would say that it could also happen if Israel starts attacking US servicemen and nationals, but considering how they were tight lipped about one of their own being murdered by Israel (to go as far as referring to them as predominantly Turkish instead), and of course historical incidents such as Israel sinking the USS liberty decades ago, I wouldn't hold my breath here either.

In short they hold much of the Western world, namely the US and the UK by their collective balls.

Well, we know nothing changed even after Israel slaughtered seven aid workers from World Central Kitchen. That story seemed forgotten in less than a week. They can and do act with complete impunity.

Another question that should be asked is why she is blindfolded and humiliated like this.
