This is where social media has been the great equalizer. A harrowing clip of a Palestinian baby without a head or photos of Israeli torture camps give a far more poignant depiction than some BBC/Guardian article headline of some aid workers mysteriously being found blown to pieces inside their vehicle, caveating with it being a 'Hamas run ministry source'.

And twitter in particular, because it has no moderation left.

The last john oliver's episode was about the west bank. So fecking infuriating.

For B’Tselem, Mr Ben Gvir bears a heavy responsibility for the abuses now being reported. “These systems were put in the hands of the most right wing, most racist minister that Israel ever had,” Yuli Novak told us.

For her, Israel’s treatment of prisoners, in the wake of the traumatic events of 7 October, is a dangerous indicator of the nation’s moral decline.

Campaign group Palestine Action took action against Elbit Systems in the UK.

Arrests after police officers hit with sledgehammer
A vehicle was used to ram the entrance of the Bristol HQ of defence technology firm Elbit Systems on Bolingbroke Way in Patchway, on the outskirts of Bristol, shortly before 04:00 BST.
Employees and police officers who intervened were assaulted, Avon and Somerset Constabulary said, and six people were arrested.

There's a video circulating on twitter, retweeted by someone who usually doesn't retweet rubbish, of security camera footage of the IDF raping a prisoner with rods. I didn't see it, the beginning shows about 25 prisoners all face flat on the ground, and a few soldiers bringing in a shield(?) and other stuff and converging on a prisoner.

The cuckolding is unreal. Pretty much up there with the Germans mandating that applicants who want to become citizens need to recognise the state of Israel.
The way these countries embarrass themselves is quite something.

Seen this too, truly awful, all hallmarks of a genocidal regime.

For a long time, if someone even suggested that Israel has lots of influence in Western countries, it was already called anti-semitic, conspiracy etc. And then you see these insane things and you wonder if the conspiracies were not completely conspiracies. We know that AIPAC is basically an Israel agency and has a dissapropriate amount of lobbying in the US, but then you see many European countries behaving exactly the same. Is this sucking to Israel a meme (as Dawkins' defines them), or Israel really has such power?!

Who knows man. I don't buy into the usual anti-semitic tropes thankfully, but shite like this doesn't help it either.

In the US its definitely political suicide to take an overly dissenting stance against Israel, courtesy of the likes of AIPAC, but the European stance (outside of perhaps Germany) is a mind-boggling one, especially in situations like this. No one has asked them to co-sign this decision to exclude the Israelis, and its not like the reasons the Japanese mayor gave were particularly controversial. All they had to do was turn up, pay their respects, and go home. Instead they've turned what should have been a commemoration of a horrific mass loss of life into a political crusade involving another country, one that's currently facing immense scrutiny and condemnation over...drum roll....a massive loss of civilian life.

I assume that's the one where the soldiers were arrested (and it nearly caused a riot because people were trying to stop military police from taking them out of the military camp)?

The video is from an Israeli channel, it is authentic.

I've been critical of him but fair enough he actually said this. Next step is immediate sanctions on arms sales and actually mean unlike last time.

Watch Israeli politicians throw their toys out of the pram now.

So no different to Biden essentially. 'Continue to work to protect Civilians in Gaza' essentially equates to 'as you were'. By refusing to even entertain reprimanding or embargoing the Israelis she's essentially powerless to actually protect the civlians of Gaza from the ongoing onslaught. Obviously I'm not surprised, 'progressive' Dems will appear more progressive on all issues except for 'that' one.

Trump will obviously be worse for the Palestinians, and indeed for Americans and the wider world, so they can probably bank on that getting the progressives on board, that and the fact she was lucky Biden already acted as a sponge for their ire while the genocide started to go into full swing.

If you didn't like Biden's policy on Gaza, chances are you will like Harris' even less given that she has a penchant for telling people and groups what they want to hear so she can get their votes.

She's always been pro-Israel and anyone expecting from her anything else than lip service for electoral purposes is clutching at straws.

She might put a tiny bit more pressure on Israel to stop the genocide, because the whole thing has become completely outrageous. However, she'll never do anything meaningful for the Palestinians and will certainly not seek for any kind of de-escalation with Iran. She'll posture for a two state solution, whilst backing Israel to the hilt and turning a blind eye on its usual exactions, continuous expansion of the illegal settlements in the West Bank and whatever it decides to do with Gaza's aftermath. Right in line with what both Democrats and Republicans did for decades, with the exception, to an extent, of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

She's an ideologically biased hack on this matter. Just slightly less worse and less obvious than Trump or Biden. That's about it.
