Israel - Palestine Discussion | Post Respectfully | Discuss more, tweet less

It is quite funny watching them degrade the authority of international law and the systems the world has been governed by for 75 years, it's been going on for a while with this transition to the ambiguous 'rule based order'. Anyway I can't imagine that backfiring and also being abused by their increasingly powerful adversaries in the near future!

Israel copying the Brits

The judgment of God sent the calamity to teach the Irish a lesson. That calamity must not be too much mitigated. The greater evil with which we have to contend is not the physical evil of the famine, but the moral evil of the selfish, perverse and turbulent character of the Irish people. - Charles Trevelyan
They are a beastly people with a beastly religion. The famine was their own fault for breeding like rabbits. – Winston Churchill

Israeli soccer player fired from Turkish team for goal dedicated to Gaza hostages

It was announced on Monday morning that Yehezkel had been released by the Turkish court and was set to be deported from the country.

You're posts in this thread are depressingly funny. Silly stuff portraying israel as a victim, as if in the middle of all this, anyone should give a feck about a football player losing his job. In a way, it's the perfect portrait of israel supporters situation, they really have nothing to hang on to at this point.

The West Bank is gonna explode even further in the next few days. More people have been killed there and today a ramming and a stabbing attack has been carried out near Tel Aviv from apparently West Bank Palestinians.

On the contrary. It is a perfect and timely reminder of indifference to Hamas atrocities. Hostages are not victims?

Sagiv Jehezkel is just a small example of personal bravery knowing the consequences. And also a small reminder to the topic of who is being canceled for what (like 100 pages back).

At this point, the Zionist terrorists are just hoping to cause as much pain and devastation as possible.

feck Israel and its supporters.

What does a footballer losing his job has to do with hamas? Nothing.

And israel supporters complaining about being canceled? You must live in bizarro world.

I get that you are disturbed to find anything else in this thread than hatred towards Israel.

And no reaction to the hostages. As usual you will rather discuss to the death the messenger (in this case a football player, in past it was Kasparov) and not the message - that hostages are held for moreover 100 days.

He was actually also arrested (and since released and deported).
As I said, depressingly funny to post about that when children are being killed by israel at the exact same time. A guy did something stupid taking into account the country he was in. He lost his job, spent a few hours in jail and now is back home. I'm sure the feature film will be very exciting.

How many Palestinian lives should we weigh against each Israeli hostage? Just so we understand exactly what an acceptable ratio of discussion is per Giggsy PO's demands.

If you can't understand why one topic is being discussed vastly more than the other then it's because you don't value them equally quite simply.

I'm disturbed israel keeps murdering people on a daily basis and yet some people, like you, only post about bill maher being a racist prick and a footballer losing his job. It is disturbing that people have your world view.

The hostages are victims and I hope they are well and released soon. Hamas is a terrorist organization and had no right to do what they did, it was a crime. See it's easy, now analyze the side you support and let's see if you can see it like it is.

These things are inevitable given the circumstances. A pro-Palestinian protester got beat up and thrown out for disrupting a speech by the Governor of Texas recently as well.

Poor Israeli footballer, I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Yes Giggsy, we hate Israel, because what Israel is doing right now is genocide. And no sane, good person will ever love someone or something perpetrating genocide.

Everyone can choose to side with ones committing genocide, but it is crazy for anyone to believe they won't be judged on that.

It is possible to acknowledge the overreaction by the Turkish authorities. Similar to the ICC threatening action against Usman Khawaja. And it is possible to say that the reaction was wrong without absolving Israel of any responsibility for what they are doing throughout Gaza and the West Bank.

Sure, but looking at the posting pattern of this user, this wasn't just an informative post, it was just another in a long sequence of "look at poor israel, they're the real victim". If someone else had posted it I probably wouldn't have reacted.

Thanks for the reply and the context.

Death of every civilian is a tragedy. Every single one. Period. See it is easy.

Re hostages - You hope they are well and released soon? So do I. But we all know that majority of remaining hostages were tortured and are probably already dead. But I hope I am totally wrong. So how in the real world are they going to be released soon? Hamas will show a good will?

Israel is defending itself against terrorist organization and has every right and duty to do so. As every state would. Moreover as the very same perpetrator confirmed that at the very next opportunity it will commit the same crime again, and again, and again...

Do you realize that you are not the world judge on what is and what is not a genocide? You can think whatever you want. And others will as well. It is crazy you cant comprehend that.

Yeah, but there is important difference in these two examples. In Turkey, state authorities took action against completely non-violent act of freedom of expression. The second one, the protester knew exactly what he was doing and what was comming. That does not justify the beating by other fellow civilians (just to state the obvious).

Israel never recognized the hague tribunal, so no international law would be broken. Not that they would care anyway if so

Yes, they recognise the ICJ by default as a member of the UN.

The ICC is another court that Israel is not customary to.

Both courts are in the Hague in the Netherlands.

just to add to that Israel is still bound by Customary International Humanitarian Law even if they don’t recognise the ICJ and/or have not ratified the 1st additional protocol of the geneva convention.

Which norms of the 1st additional protocol are considered customary IHL is somewhat up for debate if I recall correctly. The ICRC has a database for those who are interested.

Looking forward to prices rising for everything here in the UK/Western world...the economic sanctions effectively being applied by the Houthi's, and the case brought by SA, will lead to a turning of the tide.

Obviously I'd rather not have to pay for more, but if it means the Zionist cnuts stop their mass murder, then its worth it.

Eh? There's no evidence they've been tortured and if they are dead it is due to Israeli bombing (or just shooting any naked person with a white flag they come across). The hostages are extraordinarily valuable to Hamas.

And I'm not going to post the video of the doctor cutting his daughter's leg on the dining table without anaesthetics while tanks surround his house to stop him from going to the hospital.

Simply reverse the roles: if Israel had kidnapped 200 people and killed a thousand or so more, would you be happy with Hamas absolutely flattening, say, Tel Aviv and killing 23k in reply?
