Hopefully we blow them out of the water.

He's a self described Arsenal fan, we can offer him any money you can as well as CL football. Would be surprised if he joined you.

Edi; We'll give you Walcott for a tenner if you really want a new RW:D

Every time I see him play (only in the big games vs Bayern or English opponents in Europe), he loves to miss a load of chances.
His finishing is admittedly not that great.

That being said he creates so many chances for others that it really overrides his poor finishing.

I personally think he could be one of, if not the best, signing you lot could make this summer and that even includes the potential signing of Ibra. I seriously think he's that good and would fit with Mou as well.

Yes, this is the sort of player where our ability to offer bigger wages doesn't matter. It only matters with those 200-300k\week players where you most likely stop at 200+k, and we go all the way to 300.

For Neymars \ Griezmanns \ Bales and those sort of players that will demand something silly we have an advantage. But Mhikitaryan isn't at that level.

Totally agree. We will never pay a player 300k a week, I wouldn't want us to tbh.

For the right player you would. Anyone of United \ Arse \ Chelsea \ City would pay for example Neymar 300k\week without blinking.

I don't think he scores enough to want him as our new no10 and I don't want to youtube him but apparently he won players player of the season with around 15 assists.

You can't really offer him Mourinho though, I think it will be closer than you think with Rialo being the agent.

No professionals really care about "who they support" as a kid. Look at Gerrard, he was about to move to Chelsea and only bottled it in fear of his family. If somebody as apparently die hard as him was going to leave, I very much doubt an Armenian who liked Arsenal is going to be too bothered

Tbf he said he was a fan of Arsenal back in 2009. A lot of things change in 7 years. He was playing in either Armenia or Ukraine at the time. A lot of players say things when they're young and don't follow through when they're older. I mean Shaw is a big Chelsea fan, but he chose us over them (money talks.)

One think I don't like about him is that he's incredibly wasteful infront of goal.

But you can't/won't offer him more money?, You also can't offer him the guarentee of CL football.

We'll give you 20 to keep him. 50 if you start him in half the games.

Take Aubemeyang as an example, for what it will cost city in terms of wages and transfer fee, we will be able to sign Xhaka, Vardy,Mhkitaryan & Rodriguez. I don't want my club to become like City, We've suffered more than any other fans can imagine for the ability to play with monopoly money, we aren't going to flitter it away on one player over 4 o 5.

Indeed. But Auba isn't like Neymar though, I am saying that for certain players there are virtually no wage cap. With Neymar you get the following:

- Ridiculous marketing and shirt sales
- Gigantic exposure in South America
- Every young kids money
- The most likely future BPITW
- A fantastic player
- A serious statement
- High pull factor for other players (play with the best etc..)

The complete package that a player like Neymar comes with will make clubs pay ridiculous sums. Just the transfer spectacle would be worth a lot in a marketing sense.

We can't/won't offer him more money based on what exactly lol? Fairly sure we'd offer much more money than Arsenal. If Arsenal offer him £150k+, imagine what the likes of Sanches and Ozil will be thinking. Well we can't guarantee him CL football as we aren't in the CL, but with Mourinho in charge it's a lot more likely for it not to happen in the future.

No, you can't. As another poster rightly said we could match you in wages anywhere up to 200k a week. If you offered him more than 160k a week then No.1 you'd be insane because he's not worth it, and no.2 you'd become what you hate so much in City, a club that can only compete on money. Ozil & Sanchez will both sign new deals worth 160K + a week this summer.

I think the agent thing is relevant. Pogba has too and those are the main 3 players we are linked too. We are obviously talking with him....the agent that is.

These "superagents" like a couple of clients in a club to give them more weight in negotiations.

No one's going to offer him 200k a week. So if it comes down to wages, Arsenal can easily match whatever we offer unless we go loco and offer him a sum he isn't worth which I doubt we will for a Mkhitaryan.

Wait you've just contradicted yourself. United can not only match Arsenal, but we can pay considerably more on wages aswell. The truth of the matter is I can't see Arsenal offering more than 160k, while United could offer it and he wouldn't even be close to the top earner.
And in terms of "you'd become what you hate so much in City, a club that can only compete on money", I have absolutely no problems this summer in getting players with money alone, as like you said United don't have the glamour of offering CL this year.

But my point is the wages offered by the two clubs will be in perspective to the current wages of the players at the club. Realistically speaking Arsenal won't offer above 120k a week, while we could easily increase that to 150k. And before you say Arsenal can pay 170k a week no problem, I'd counter that by saying United can also pay 220k a week, but neither are likely.

That's true tbf, point taken.

Would be perfect out on the right IMO. Not sure if we will actually get him though as there is a bit of conpetition for him. But him, Ibra, Embolo, and Bailly would just leave us needing a center mid to basically complete the side.

This. Notoriously disappears from big games. Often injured and shys away from big moments. Terrible 14/15 campaign. I think he's the 2016 Pedro, took him a long time to adjust to the German league. How soon will he adjust to the epl? At 27 going on 28, we really shouldn't consider it.

Dmitri Payet says hi.

Misses absolute sitters. Do not want.

Also he seems to be a bit mentally weak. Last season when things weren't going so well for Dortmund he was a nothing player, just awful. Only this season where they were in better form and under a new manager he started to perform again. I don't know why but I really despise players who always need pampering and being told how awesome they are in order to perform well. Still he is a good player and Dortmund is going to miss a player like him in the form he was this season.

I posted this in the right winger forum but more people seem to know Mkhitaryan more here

I'm going to start a debate as I'm torn between 2 players for the Right wing spot

Mahrez vs Mkhitaryan

Age: Mahrez 25 - 27 Mkhitaryan
Goals: Mahrez 18 - 23 Mkhitaryan
Assists: Mahrez 10 - 32 Mkhitaryan
Matches: Mahrez 39 - 52 Mkhitaryan
Goals per Min: Mahrez 172 - 190 Mkhitaryan
2 different types of players; Mahrez' best attributes are his Dribbling, Eye for goal, Vision and Skills. Mkhitaryan's best attributes are his Speed, Eye for goal, Vision & High workrates.

Martial is more like Mahrez than Mkhitaryan. Martial and Mahrez don't have the workrate of Mkhitaryan which is what we lack hence LVG playing Lingard a lot on the right. Mourinho also likes a hardworking winger.

Mahrez can create things out of nothing using his skill and dribbling whereas Mkhitaryan relies on his speed and player movement around him. Mahrez also has that wow factor and will bring back the entertainment.

Martial - Ibra - Mahrez would be more exiting but would lack the energy compared to a Martial - Ibra - Mkhitaryan which could be key in counters if Mourinho brings that element back to United which I am sure he will.

I think Ibra would benefit Mkhitaryan more than Mahrez as Vardy was running through the channels all day long making the moment for Mahrez and co. To play him in. I can't see Ibra running through the channels, I think Mkhitaryan would be the legs like Di Maria was last season for PSG. But watching highlights of Mahrez makes me smile and wonder what kind of impact he could have with us.

The right footed left footed debate doesn't really matter as Mkhitaryan has a great left foot (Mahrez left footed).

Both would do wonders here I reckon and both available for a similar price. Mahrez probably the more expensive.

So what do people think?

I never felt Mkhitaryan was doing so well when he had to play out wide, he isn't awful there but he certainly is at his best coming through the center imo.

While I think he might be worth a punt if we are looking for a new number 10 there is like I said the doubt about his mentality, if he is tough enough to handle the pressure playing for a club like ours when he even at Dortmund showed that the pressure can be too much for him at times.

On the other hand I think Mou would like his high work rate, that he helps defensively a lot and has a good eye for team mates as well as scoring 10+ goals a season. So if I was convinced that he could absolutely handle playing for us I would say let's snatch him up but I'm not really convinced of that at all. We also can't afford to have more players in the squad who vanish if things aren't going our way.

His first two seasons in the Bundesliga, he was shit but this past season he was an absolute beast scoring 23 and assisting 32 in 53 appearances which is amazing.

So would you both prefer Mahrez? Or Ounas or Embolo ?

That depends on what we are looking for. As a #10, clearly Henrikh is a favorite among the options you mentioned but if its for the right wing then it has to be one of Mahrez or Embolo.

Yeah for the RW spot, haven't seen much of Embolo but looks decent from YouTube :wenger:

I expect him to sign for Arsenal or Chelsea.

Not convinced he is a target for us.
