I’ve been one of his biggest critics over the years but really good performance today (and this season in general). Can’t really blame him too much for that final chance as it was a poor pass from Zirkzee.

The bobbly pass was horrendous, though.
VAR would have probably denied it for Zirkzee being offside. Especially at Anfield. They got every decision today.

I was one of his strongest detractors when he was going through his “difficult second album” phase, but - fair play to him - he has knuckled down, got on with it, dealt with having the arm band stripped off him, hasn’t bleated on social media ever despite getting pure abuse every week and he’s come back as one of our strongest players.
Well done to him again today, brilliantly solid and organised performance and no way should he have been booked for that tackle - it was outstanding.
