Michael Keane just showed the world how a CB should head the ball off a cross. Hopefully someone will show Maguire the video.

An absolute freight train and liability. How is this pretender our captain. Zero ability, zero leadership, the club has zero ambition.

Every week there's always something with him. Often one or two things where he's either getting skinned or almost giving a pen away. It can't continue. Ralf needs to sort it out and drop him ASAP.

Needs to be benched. When he's not giving away goals he's putting the rest of the team under pressure with his general play.

I think there's a case for one - he kinda just runs into Broja and bundles him off the ball.

Think the refs probably got it right, but yeh I think there's an argument there at least.
If he isn’t England’s centre back, that’s a penalty.

Of the annoying things he does, I think over-committing is the one that bugs me most. I've lost count of the number of times he's gone for a tackle that was never on and left us a man short for the inevitable counter-attack.

What are we going to do? Playing a high line will only generate more clips like this.

Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen a top class player get done like that. He’s not watching the ball and just anticipates the forward going down the line.

Maguire might not be performing good enough but he is far from our main problem. The fact that we have only scored 3 goals in total against Southampton, Burnley and fecking Middlesborough is what is costing us.
It is? Remember when we were the best team on the planet and went on that ridiculous run of conceding no goals and winning games?

1-0 gets you 3pts just the same as 4-0 does. We aren't having a problem getting to 1-0... what them follows is usually a goal conceded. That is what's costing us.

Should it have been a pen at the end ?
I'm really not sure how it wasn't by the way although it's nice to get a decision for you for a change. I'd be furious is someone did that to one of our forwards and it continued to goalkick.

Yeah, did it this game towards the halfway line. Went in like a rocket, got skinned, then waddled back. Absolute nightmare.

His defending needs to be clipped with the benny hill music. Tragic player, tragic representation of our club.

Imagine being a player and looking for inspiration from your captain and seeing it is this lumbersome baboon.

Shocking defender and absolutely comical footballer, constantly getting spun.

Because the body contact was deemed to be fair and the stamp as part of his natural running action rather than intentional. The ref, the VAR refs and the ref in the TV studio all agreed.

I can’t get this moment out of my head for some reason. I keep thinking about it and makes me shake my head in despair and laugh in equal measure. What the actual feck is he playing at?

He was okay today. That clip is funny but he recovered after that and didn't give a sniff to Borja.

Well , he was better than Varane which no one would talk as he is the new shiny toy .

"It's no secret that they have a fridge for a center back"

Listen, every team that comes to play us knows this exact 'secret'. It's embarassing. Every single team gets success going after him.

Borja shinned him on the other side too and should have scored.

‘‘Recovered’’ by running into Broja. If a penalty was given, we could’ve had no complaints.

Not true at all. I don't recall Varane doing much wrong but Maguire kept getting caught out pressing into the opposition half and leaving us wide open. Plus he looked even slower today.

You think scoring 1 goal a game against Championship teams and relegation fodder is the standard a team like United should be satisfied with? I dont.
No team keeps a clean sheet for every game and even if we swapped Maguire for prime Ferdinand neither would we.
I'm not saying Maguire is playing good enough or even close too it but our attackers has been the main reason for our poor form these last weeks not Maguire or any other defender.

Another disappointing Maguire performance. I’d like to see Ralf give Lindelof a proper runout. The time has come.

You do realize that when Maguire was off for the entire month of January De Gea had to make more saves than any other keeper in the league and ended up getting player of the month in the EPL right? Actually, that's not true. Maguire played one game for 90 minutes. that was vs West ham. The only game where De Gea didn't have to bail us out. But go on, tell us again how Lindelof has been way better than Maguire and that you're not just looking for mistakes and scapegoating him...

Care to explain how he got skinned by Borja from our left side ? Care to explain the goal?

I will try to think more occasions but this is what I remember now.

But you're talking too much sense and that doesn't fit everyone else's agenda

Dalot was out of position and Shaw played Adams on?

There's no defending Maguire. Criticising others is just trying to mask how awful he's been lately.

Why did he come out of marking a player who was probably going to be in the box ? And Pogba was chasing back to defend the midfield area. Varane has this trait of suddenly leaving his man and trying to chase the ball. It cost us today.

Wasn't his worst game by a long shot.

But he was totally bullied by Broja for the entire game, out fought and out paced at almost every turn.

That Broja is pretty good though, get Sadio Mane vibes off him, could be another top player in a few years.

It was a long ball on the counter. Hardly an isolated incident either. He was ripped a good few times that second half on Shaw’s side too.
And Broja skinned Varane in the first few minutes too.

Yeah, he looks like he might be good, he has a lot of youthful exuberance combined with his abilties. It'll be interesting to see how he develops.

Another one off the Chelsea production line, they seem to have a good set up going on there now.

No, you're sidestepping the point: a single goal in our favour is enough to decide literally any game with a proper defence behind you.

Same way teams give up even with a single goal defecit when playing against elite backlines or even ball retentive teams.

We need more goals yes, but that's besides the point. A proper rear guard changes the discussion entirely.

We're often nervous when 1-0 up, and it's not because of the attack, I would say.

He’s getting made to look like a fool in pretty much every game we play. Only reason he still plays is because of his status and transfer fee.
And he's better than Lindelof and the others. He wasn't at fault for the goal today. Varane was.

Maguire has no recovery pace. That means he has to be perfect stepping out. If he's not it just opens up gaps in our lines. If we are going to become a pressing team he will need replacing.

He's not close to being the main problem, but obviously his lack of agility/mobility is always a problem. It becomes exposed the more we try to become a front footed team. I generally just prefer Lindelof there next to Varane.

Honestly now.

How the feck does one goes to say that?!

Did you watch any games we played this season?

He's utter shit. He's beyond shit. He's probably the worst CB in the top 10 teams.

Phil Jones is ten times the CB then this squareheaded lump of bones.
