Gun control

This should make the world a safer place for us 'Muricans; a handgun that looks exactly like a cellphone...

Here’s how this bright idea got cooked up,

CEO Kirk Kjellberg said he got the idea for the gun at a restaurant, after getting his permit to carry -- and quickly realizing he'd like to be more concealed. "I walked towards the restroom and a little child, a boy about 7, saw me and said, 'Mommy, mommy, that guy's gotta gun,'" he said. "The whole restaurant of course turns and stares at you and I thought, 'There's just gotta be something better to do than this.'"

Yeah! Like not carrying a fecking gun everywhere.

feck me

'and then it got me thinking, why not make my cyanide tablet child friendly? let's make it look like bubblegum!'

Taking a phone out from your pocket will now be a legitimate reason for the police to shoot.

You mean for all races, rather than just African Americans.

Blacks are 13% of the population but they make up ~30% of the people on that graph.

Women are the majority of the population but only acount for less than 10% of deaths at the hands of law enforcement.

As always, drawing conclusions from stats like these will be flawed without further insight.

Also, WTF Oklahoma. We outnumber the Arkies 38 to 4? Must be the thriving meth/heroin industries we have here (though I thought Arkansas would have them too).

Would need to know how many were clearly justified, how many questionable and how many outright unjustified. OF course which killings fit into which category could be an entire debate in itself, with many we would never agree on.

A child suffered a superficial wound at Merit Health Central hospital Wednesday morning when a gun in her mother's purse accidentally discharged, Jackson Police Department confirmed.

Authorities said the shooting happened in the Emergency Room when a gun went off in the child's mother's purse. The child is said to be a 2-year-old girl.

Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green said the mother dropped her purse while standing by a vending machine, which caused her gun to go off inside her purse. The bullet ricocheted off the vending machine and grazed the child's face on the right side.

Her injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Merit Health Central Hospital released a statement saying weapons are prohibited on the hospital campus in order to protect the safety of patients, visitors, and employees.

"This morning, an isolated incident involving the accidental discharge of a visitor's weapon occurred on our campus. It was addressed quickly, preventing serious harm to the patient and risk to others in the hospital," the statement read.

They directed further questions to JPD.

The investigation is ongoing, Green said.

For fecks sake. Just makes me angry, so irresponsible and so completely needless. I really hope the little girl is ok and hope her mother is punished severely.

Breaking news just being reported 8 members of one family have been killed in 4 different locations. A manhunt for a killer(s) is currently underway.

Sounds absolutely horrific, although early reports suggest that some younger members of the family, babies and toddlers were left unharmed asleep in their beds. One newborn was asleep in his mothers arms while she was shot and he was left unharmed. What the feck is wrong with people? That's beyond fecked up.

Guns don't kill people... Mental illnesses... More guns... Blah blah

sounds about right.

If the nurses had all guns, they would have prevented the accident by shooting the mother first. Give guns to American nurses and doctors!

Now if the headline of this story did not specifically state that is was a US Man, wouldn't you have guessed it was anyways?

Two people have been wounded at a high school graduation ceremony in Kansas after a man shot himself in the foot and wounded another person after he fiddled with a gun which he had concealed in his sock.

Tyler Brewer, the Augusta police chief, said the shooting was accidental and described it as a “knucklehead situation”.

The shooting took place on Sunday as people were filing into the football stadium for the graduation.

The bullet went through the man’s foot and travelled about another 50 feet before striking a woman in her calf.

The woman has been released from a hospital in Wichita, while the man has been admitted with an injury that’s not life-threatening.

CBS News reported the man shot himself in his right foot and was able to drive himself to hospital.

Police said the man, who had a concealed weapon permit, accidentally discharged the gun while trying to adjust the pistol, which was making his foot feel uncomfortable.

Brewer said the Augusta High School commencement continued after the shooting, with most people unaware of what happened.

Brewer said he planned to present the case to prosecutors because it is illegal to carry a firearm on school grounds.
