Gun control

What the feck is King Eric on?

The town is right off I-84. I can't count the number of times I've seen this sign

Bah they put up that sign after the massacre, then altered your memories.

I have never at any point said that the town does not exist. Am I missing something you meant here?

A nut case going on trial for harassment of the family of one of the victims. He also is surprised at being made out to be a bad guy when all he did was ask questions.

This guy has a pregnant wife who is sick of his actions. But she is probably a government operative out to get him.

Another shing example of King Eric's peers.

From that: "Down the rabbit hole of Sandy Hook conspiracy theories, some “truthers” consider Mills to be a possible government agent intended to discredit them and their movement."

False flag within a false flag. Nice.

I was just going to post the same thing. They eat their own when found out. Take note @KingEric7 there's no code of honour amongst conspiracy theorists.

Again a reaction that should give anyone who puts any thought into this a good reason to question the so-called truthers. They will basically twist and spin anything to support their beliefs rather than actually be after the truth.

Trouble with this is, it's like trying to teach someone common sense.

Newtown where Sandy Hook is located has a population of over 27k. With the village of Sandy Hook accounting for 10k or so of that population. That's s lot of people to who would have to be in on it.

Nevermind that those 10k also have friends, families, relatives, confidantes. You are talking about 100k or more of people potentially knowing about the plot and yet keep schtum... For what, remind me again?

Stupidity knows no bounds.

I think killing him individually would arouse too much suspicion. We'd have to bury his death in a larger massacre, which we'd stage, obviously, because we don't want to actually kill anyone. Well, apart form him... I say we hire a gunman to take just him out, then arrange for some paramedics to wheel some crash test dummies around and release some pics off google images to make it look like others were involved. But lets make sure we don't release the same pics as last time, 'cos people are starting to cotton on to that.

Also, and this is important, we should definitely make sure the actors we hire to portray his loved ones can't actually act, and are seen laughing and smiling and generally not looking sad enough every time they're interviewed.

Gun control is not that perfect in Europe

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35511787

That's a gangland shooting. Didn't you always argue that the criminals would always get guns no matter what?

None of us disagree with that. Gangs will find ways of getting guns. This isn't the same as a trouble kid going into a school and shooting people at random. This isn't the same as a child accidentally shooting his mother in a supermarket because she was allowed to openly carry her gun. This isn't the same as any Tom, Dick or Harry being able to buy a gun legally without ever being questioned as to why he wants a semi-automatic weapon.

Weak argument here Barros.

Most of the shootouts in US are gang related.

Unemployment, poverty and no family values.... Oops 3 things in common

Completely weird thing to say. The US and it's lack of gun control is just a very sad situation. Far too many people die, or are permanently injured, every year because of the ubiquity of guns. And it's getting worse not better. What is most horrific, is that in the face of unspeakable atrocities like Sandy Hook, we don't just have to deal with the scum of the earth types from the NRA and other gun advocates around the country; but we also have to fend off the ridiculous, insulting, and distasteful accusations of conspiracy theorists.

Having read through the last few pages, I want to say a big thank you to some of the posters in here for restoring my faith in humanity. @Mockney you have done an incredible job in exposing the absolutely deluded shitc**t of a person @KingEric7 clearly is. I know they say insult the post, not the poster, but I'll happily take a ban for having said it. This individual is either mentally ill, in which case someone can hopefully get him help, or he is, as previously stated, an absolute shitc**t.

There is something desperately wrong with people that see the need for guns amongst citizens in modern society. It's almost always sad little men who feel the need to prove something, or make up for some other form of inadequacy. The really sad part is that there is no end in sight. I live in a country now where my daughter will have to go through a metal detector to go to school. What in the actual feck? But, yes, more guns is the solution......

Just building on this. Gangs will not always find a way to obtain guns. The harder you make it the fewer will. Here in the USA its likely as easy as buying bread. In the UK etc, not so much.

They used machine guns not semi-automatic assault rifle looking guns, if they can get those in UK why you think even if we had gun control the gangs wouldn't get them? They live in an island and we have 2 huge borders.

A white Chicago police officer who fatally shot a black teenager last December is suing his (the victim's) family for $10m (£6.9m), claiming emotional distress

Robert Rialmo shot 19-year-old student Quintonio LeGrier six times, killing the boy's neighbour in the process.

Mr Rialmo says Mr LeGrier swung at him with a baseball bat from close range, but Mr LeGrier's lawyers say the two were at least 20ft (6m) apart.

The lawsuit comes amid a federal investigation into Chicago's police.

The investigation is focusing on the use of force by officers and the department's accountability procedures.

It was launched after weeks of protests over the police killing of a black teenager by a white officer.

Laquan McDonald, 17, was shot 16 times in 2014 by the officer, who was charged with murder over a year later.

The inquiry will take a similar form to those recently conducted in Baltimore and Ferguson, Missouri - as well as more than 20 other departments in recent years, and will look for systematic violations of US civil rights laws.

'A new low'

Joel Brodsky, Mr Rialmo's defence lawyer, said it was important in an atmosphere charged by police shootings to send a message that police are "not targets for assaults" and "suffer damage like anybody else".

Mr LeGrier's father, Antonio, filed a wrongful death lawsuit days after the shooting, saying his son was not armed with a weapon and was not a threat.

His lawyer, Basileios Foutris, said Mr Rialmo's lawsuit was "a new low even for the Chicago Police Department".

"First you shoot them, then you sue them," he said.

The lawsuit provides the officer's first public account of how he says the shooting happened.

Mr Rialmo, who was responding to a domestic disturbance call, says Mr LeGrier came charging at him down the stairs and swung a baseball bat at his head. Mr Rialmo says he backed away and shouted at Mr LeGrier to drop the bat, but drew his weapon and fired after the teenager swung the bat again.

Mr Rialmo fired six times, killing both Mr LeGrier and Bettie Jones, a neighbour who was standing behind the teenager.

"The fact that LeGrier's actions had forced Officer Rialmo to end LeGrier's life and to accidentally take the innocent life of Bettie Jones has caused, and will continue to cause, Officer Rialmo to suffer extreme emotional trauma," the lawsuit says.

Lawyers for Mr LeGrier's father and for Ms Jones say evidence indicates the officer was 20 or 30 feet (six to nine metres) away when he fired.

The LeGrier family's lawyer also questions why the teen would attack the officer since he was the one who called police.

"If you're calling multiple times for help are you going to charge a police officer and try to hit him with a bat? That's ridiculous," Mr Foutris said.

County prosecutors have asked the FBI to investigate the shooting. The Chicago Police Department has refused to comment.

Such a lawsuit by an officer is extraordinarily unusual, said Phil Turner, a former federal prosecutor and current defence attorney who is not connected to the case.

Speaking to the Associated Press news agency, he questioned whether a judge would give it any merit and said it appeared intended to intimidate Mr LeGrier's family.

He said he had never heard of an officer blaming his shooting victim for causing trauma.

Honestly, the only thing I'm surprised of is that this hasn't happened before.
