Wow, €100m for a nearly 29-year old striker who isn't even the very top tier of forwards is a bit steep. If they get €120m for Pogba now it'll still be a bad deal IMO.

Sell for 120m and buy Higuain for 100m? Surely Juve aren't that daft.

If they sign him that pretty much guarantees them the Calcio title for 2 3 years. Seems Higuain is incredibly suited to the Serie A

Let´s be honest here, that price is completely ridiculous. United is ready to give them the opportunity to actually strengthen the team with the massive fee they get for Pogba and they decide to burn the vast majority of it on a 28 year old striker. He basically has to become the vital factor of them winning the CL to even remotively be worth that.

In difference to all other transfers in that region in the past, he is too old to be sold for even a fraction of what he costs them if he does not deliver strongly, making it a huge risk of a transfer. This has money grave written all over it.

If we can just get Pogba over the line it is perfect tbh. Done with our deals early-ish and then the market goes to shit..

Sure, but there's also a future. It just makes me wonder what players in a team like Stoke is worth in todays market. They must have the same value as Uniteds squad had 5 years ago.

Well he's quite a big step up from the strikers they have. Even Dybala is nowhere near capable of his output.

Its absolutely mind boggling money for him. Juve have got more money than sense and it's all our fault, I feel guilty.

It's not really, when you consider his goal record, a pretty safe bet. He doesn't really really on pace too, so growing older shouldn't really be a problem.

Aye, but financially United are so far ahead most of the pack that we could profit from a wrecked market. We are basically already doing it since Real are iffy about Pogba's price.

This hugely inflated transfer market we have been very much a part of creating suits us down to a tee

All, I'd say. From a marketing perspective even Madrid can't match us.

I remember thinking that when we signed RVP but he became poor after a year or two. Although that also had the Moyes factor so it's different

I know there's a lot of crazy numbers being thrown around this summer, but this one takes the cake. €100m is absolutely mind-blowing money for Higuain. It improves them, though. They should walk the league.

This is the new reality. Every top club in Europe has money with TV deals increasing everywhere.
I don't even expect Pogba to be he record transfer for long. If Harzard has a good season, I expect Madrid to break the bank for him next summer.
What it means is that clubs will start investing more in the scouting department.

He is top tier in terms of the fact he was the best player not just goalscorer in the league last season, its as close to a guarantee that it will work out as possible so adds a premium. Similar to how Kane doesn't seem to be really top tier but puts it in the net for fun in the prem so if he moves to another prem team will be a huge huge price.

They've won 5 Serie A in a row and signed the best player for 2nd place Napoli + Pjanic from 3rd place Roma.

Wonder how many Serie A in a row they will end up with

He's the best player they could realistically buy. No other player who is among the best in his position would have moved to Serie A on Juventus wages.

Higuain might be a big game bottler, but he guarantees goals.

I wonder which team will be the first to fail to win their respective league out of Juventus, PSG, and Bayern.

Ridiculous fee. Very good player but not worth anywhere near that much.

Thats outrageous money for him... sure they have money from Pogba but cant they just get like Lukaku or Lacazette for less and have Dybala as the main man? Or go for someone else? Higuain is a good player and guarantees goals, but also guarantees bottling it in big games. Plus he is 29. For that age alone its crazy.

Insane price considering the age of the player, but its a huge statement from Juventus within the Italian league.

They have signed arguably the two best players from the 2nd and 3rd teams in the league. It's like us signing Aguero and Sanchez in the same window after winning the league

If Higuain is 100m euros, does that make Lukaku 120m?

At least when you pay a price like that you know you're getting someone who won't fold under pressure...
