It's not exactly like we are poor.
Sure, but you've signed like 4/5/6 new players, and all good ones at that? I imagine Pjanic is on huge money, can you really sustain all that?

I don't understand how some people are defending this fee saying Higuain is class. He's certainly not in the top bracket of strikers, Suarez, Lewandowski, Aubameyang, a fit Aguero, who can create chances and win games on their own. He fits more into the target man number 9, with Benzema arguably at the top alongside Kane, and then Higuain and a whole bunch of others until you reach the donkey that is Giroud. They will all score a decent number of goals if the team is working hard to provide for them, but they're never going to terrify a full back.

This fee is ridiculous and smacks of desperation. There'll be no resale value either.

I think he's better than Aguero.
Lewandoski has also gone a bit off the boil.

Anyways, Higuain was the only striker available, and the fact that he comes from a direct competitor is worth an extra premium as far as Juve are concerned.

Despite his shrinking in big games I think this is a very good signing for Juve. Sure, they've overpaid, but if they've got the money who cares so long as they're signing quality? Scoring 36(?) goals last season was insane so I can see why Juve are willing to spend so much. He may not elevate them to CL winning level, but I'm sure he'll keep them at the top, dominating Serie A, which is still good, despite Juve weakening the already weak competition they have.

He may even get into the 40's next season for goals scored, which would make people forget about his price tag. For the most part anyway. I wouldn't put money on it, but there's a real possibility, and if he gets even close to that I'm sure Juve will be satisfied.

3rd most expensive player ever!

I haven't followed his career closely enough to know, but why didn't he make it at Real Madrid? Or at least, why did he leave?

URGENT Football: Higuain joins Juventus: official

MILAN, July 26, 2016 (AFP) - Gonzalo Higuain completed his move to Juventus
after the Italian champions reportedly agreed to pay a 94.7m euros ($104m)
buyout clause to wrest the Argentine striker from Napoli on Tuesday.

So, Juve sells their best player and sign best players from Napoli (2nd last season) and Roma (3rd) instead.
Not too bad, wish we spent Ronaldo money this way.

Higuain, Pjanic, Benattia, Dani Alves - pretty good business.

If they lose Pogba - they will probably buy a quality replacement there as well. A window on par with ours.

Rumors they're after Matuidi as cover for Pauloctopus.

From what I remember he was fine at Madrid, just like every other Madrid player sold at their peak.

Madrid was just Madrid-ing and needed new toys.

Can they afford the wages though?

Juve are bankrolled by the Agnelli family.
Yes they can.

They're going all out for the CL, because Gigi, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci have at most a 2-year window to win something important.

Yeah heard that this morning. Would be a decent signing as they would have bought for positions in defense, midfield, and attack. They will be quite a handful next year.

So, are Juventus paying the price in full or they will pay 47 million this summer and the next one?

47m every year. They don't need to sell Pogba to finance it. They can easily get 60m from the sale of Rugani, Zaza and Pereyra.

Juventus aren't bankrolled by anybody, FFP has largely stopped that. €100m is a lot for Juve, I think they'll have to sell to afford it.

Did you quote @devilish as a better source? 'Kinell this place is ruined @Raoul

You may disagree with the tone of my post and I don't think that I am a great poster myself. However I do try to provide the best information regarding the Serie A as possible and I go through great lengths in translating each article that back my argument out. Apologies if that's not good enough for you

Why the feck are Sky sports reporting he has signed "according to Sky in Italy". Are they not all just part of Sky plc?

The €94m can be spread out over two years of payments to Napoli, so this year they're due €47m.

So far they made €18m profit from Alvaro Morata (bought for €12 sold for €30 to RM), spent €32 on Pjanic, €2m loan (with €18m option to buy) on Benatia, €22m on Pjaca and nothing for Dani Alves. So far they've spent €38m. Add €47m from Higuain and they've spend €85m.

Juve are selling Lemina, Zaza and Pereyra, who can fetch €50-60m altogether (Zaza - €25-30m, Pereyra - €12- 18m, Lemina - €10- 15m).

Assuming they keep Pogba for another year, their net spend would be €25-35m. They reportedly have a €50-60m transfer budget.

Think they will sell Pogba, though it's not guaranteed.

Ma dai caro, non ti incazzare cosi.

Its a 75 mil bet to win the treble over the next couple years - probably the last/best chance Juve has got given the age of its back four. Well worth the investment. Not like they could get a prolific goalscorer other than Higuain anyway.
