Your comment didn't go down with the Juventuz lot it seems! Liverpool levels of insularity and tunnel vision apparently.
 that some sort of forum?

Well the big rivalries to me are Roma - Lazio and Inter vs Milan.

I guess the big teams all have their smaller rivalries though, like in England

You seem to forgot competitive rivalries, they are as big as the geographical rivalries.

I get that, like United - Arsenal is a rivalry, but I wouldn't call it a massive one. And I don't really watch or follow Serie A. Juve - Napoli to me was a game between two big teams, who probably don't like each other but it's not a massive thing.

To you maybe but Latins are a lot more colorful. And in Italy, football is a lot more than a simple game.

Have you any idea what kind of cash outlay will amount to post higuian transfer??
benatia is 2 million dollar loan then 15 million next season , Alves is free but im sure there was a signing bonus, Pjaca is 25 and Pjanic is 32 . They sold Morata for 30 and benzema is looking to be 47 this year and 47 next year. so in all they have spent 29 million euros in net transfers without taking higgy into consideration. They are also looking to ship zaza off to wolfsburg for 20 million and are selling pareya for about 15-18. They technically will be fine even without selling Pogba. Where i think they will falter is wages

Bloody Shrewd bunch aren't they??

Napoli hate the northern teams and Lazio/Roma.

Beating Juve probably means the most, losing Higuaín to anyone is a huge blow in beating Juve to Serie A champions next season but selling him to Juve would boil the blood of any Napoli fan. The two clubs represent two opposites in Italy.

I hope for their sake they can buy well and go for the title again.

They are lining up Lacazette by the looks of it but even if they get Ronaldo they wont challenge Juventus.

Yup, like Chelsea v Liverpool, where the rivalry has no basis other than competition.

Anyway, Dybala is probably Juventus' best attacker so will probably play. So does the Higuain transfer mean the end for Mario Mandzukic? Whenever I saw Juve play last year (which admittedly wasn't too often outside the Champions League), I thought Mandzukic was very good, particularly as a foil for Dybala. I also generally think he's quite a good player. What do Juventus fans think of him possibly leaving?

Juventus vs Torino then too, as a derby.

Higuain bad reputation and image comes from this C1 game against Lyon with Real Madrid where he missed a goal that he should not have missed. For some reason, this "miss" keeps trailing him wherever he goes and some of the international games misses also help this agenda.

But it's not right, Higuain is a killer in front of the goals and I think he deserves that kind of money. If you watch carefully, he is not a pacey forward, yet he feels the goals and can score. Maybe he has a psychological issue with big games but he definitely has what it takes to overtake that hypothetical fear.
Some people only watch 1 or 2 games and make their judgements on a player. It's ridiculous.

I've watched Higuaín for years. The majority who are calling Higuaín a bottler will have watched plenty of him, he's hardly an unknown player.

Deal with Juve reported
Sky are reporting that he is having a medical with Juventus.

What's this about Benzema?

The famous Serie A quality defence where a player like Higuain scores 36 in 35 leagues games, and is the leagues all-time record goal-scorer Serie A.

A player like Higuain?
He is a top striker, who is well suited to the Italian league. As you said he holds a record.
And will soon be the most expensive striker in Football history.

I realise that some people here belittle the Italian League, but it is not as bad as some are making out.
Italians could well argue that the EPL is so bad that a team like LCFC are the reigning champs.

Shades of Liverpool throwing the bank at Carroll after selling Torres for 50M. A player that is nowhere near to be worth that sum just being bought because the club received a massive lump of cash.

Possibly.
Though remember Carroll was not (by far) the league's top goal scorer, the previous season.
Next season, we shall find out whether Higuain can repeat his goal scoring exploits.

he's not worth even the third of it, he's above average striker in Italy and Juve must be crazy to spend that much on him, it's not like he's gonna get better..

the only good news about this is that they are using the money we/real are willing to pay for Pogba, there is no chance they could fund it. Hopefully it's us not Real

I thought it has been confirmed that they were paying in installments and could afford it regardless?
What I've read (will find link) is that they can afford him, but they're trying to completely restructure their squad which means selling Pogba to finance it. Don't know how much truth is in it, but instinctively, Juve have never huge spenders (not since the days of Buffon).

Yes, we can afford him but Juve won't spend 90m on Higuain without selling someone... Pogba deal is definitely on.

He hasnt even moved yet and they already doing all this. He better play not again in Turin or else he might not make out alive.

Serie A is going to be even more boring than it was now.

One team dominating year after year.

It really does need a cash injection of some kind. Half empty stadiums every weekend don't help either but I am going off topic now.

Higuain is a very good player I like him why wasn't Arse all over this?!

I know, I know. They're rivals and all that, but shouldn't the Napoli fanbase be more pissed at the management for putting a release clause in Higuain's contract in the first place? Release clauses are basically gambles; you don't get to choose which club will match it.

They already got most of Higuain's prime years and 94m for a player worth maybe 75m tops.
